Our Love, A Public Service - Chapter 68
Chapter 68
Jing Rui, holding Chi Jia's hand, gave another charming smile. "Enjoy your meal."
Chi Jia felt the men around her staring at her girlfriend, so she squeezed Jing Rui's hand, giving her a warning look.
Jing Rui looked down at Chi Jia, a smile playing on her lips, a sweetness only Chi Jia could understand.
For a moment, Chi Jia wanted to grab Jing Rui's hand and announce to everyone that this beautiful woman was her girlfriend.
If Chi Jia actually did that, Jing Rui would be overjoyed, but considering Chi Jia's reservations, she wouldn't make it public so soon.
The impulse passed, and Miss Chi chose to keep a low profile.
A silent exchange of affectionate glances.
Just a look was enough to make Chi Jia's heart race. Under the table, she held Jing Rui's hand, reluctantly letting go as Jing Rui finally left.
"Did I hear that right? Did she just say 'girlfriend'?"
"Not only do we have to compete with men for women, but also with women for women?"
"Sigh…"
The men at the table, still reeling from the scene, exchanged glances and sighed.
Only Chi Jia, oblivious to their reactions, was staring at her phone, a lovesick smile on her face, the screen showing a message from Jing Rui: Babe, I'm upstairs.
"Xiao Jia, cheers!"
"Not drinking. Hurry up and eat, stop dawdling." Chi Jia, seeing Jing Rui's message, was no longer interested in the dinner, urging her colleagues to finish quickly.
"Karaoke tonight?"
Chi Jia scoffed. "With your terrible singing, why are you so insistent on creating noise pollution?"
"Then how about going to a bar?"
"You're too old for bars, go home and soak your feet."
"Xiao Jia, there's no need to be so mean just because we're having a free meal."
"..."
They were used to teasing each other, their banter adding to the lively atmosphere.
As they were finishing up, Chi Jia was about to pay the bill, when…
"It's your birthday, our boss gave instructions for your table to be comped, and…" The waiter looked at Chi Jia, a knowing smile on his face, then leaned closer and whispered, "From now on, all your meals here will be charged to the boss's account."
"A free meal for her birthday? That's great!" The others, unaware that this special treatment was only for the "boss's wife," were surprised.
After dinner, Chi Jia quickly dismissed her colleagues; if she had known Jing Rui would be back so early, she wouldn't have arranged this dinner.
The third-floor office was a familiar place to Chi Jia, she had lost count of how many times she had been here, remembering that this was where her "nightmare" had begun.
How Jing Rui had tormented her was still fresh in her memory. If she had to choose the most difficult client she had ever had, it would undoubtedly be Jing Rui.
Chi Jia knocked lightly on the door, then pushed it open. Jing Rui seemed to be busy at her desk.
Jing Rui looked up. "Finished already?"
"It was just dinner…" Chi Jia slowly walked over to Jing Rui, her gaze fixed on her. Jing Rui seemed to have just returned, still dressed in her business attire.
Her formal outfit should have made her look serious and aloof, but on Jing Rui, it had the opposite effect, almost… seductive.
No matter how formally Jing Rui dressed, whenever they were alone, Chi Jia always felt like she was about to be seduced.
And Jing Rui was definitely capable of such a thing.
And indeed, the next moment…
"Come here." Jing Rui smiled, took Chi Jia's hand, and pulled her onto her lap, her arms wrapping around Chi Jia's waist, a subtle, familiar fragrance tickling her nose. She remembered Miss Chi rarely wore perfume.
Their position instantly changed the atmosphere.
"What are you doing…" Chi Jia sighed, squirming slightly in Jing Rui's lap, a habitual response, her words contradicting the sweet flutter in her heart.
Jing Rui was used to Chi Jia's awkwardness, finding it endearing.
Chi Jia had dressed up today, wearing a dress and high heels, a look she rarely sported, accentuating her femininity, especially in front of her domineering, vixen-like girlfriend.
After several days apart, they had so much catching up to do. And neither of them was one for restraint…
Jing Rui brushed Chi Jia's hair aside, her nose nuzzling against Chi Jia's ear, inhaling the faint scent of perfume.
Subtle, yet intoxicating.
She whispered in Chi Jia's ear, her warm breath sending shivers down Chi Jia's spine. "Little vixen, dressed up so beautifully, are you trying to seduce me tonight?"
Chi Jia wanted to ask, who's seducing whom?
When it came to flirting, Chi Jia was no match for Jing Rui, who could say and do the most outrageous things.
"You didn't even tell me you were coming back." Chi Jia tried to change the subject, but Jing Rui's closeness, her warm breath against her ear, made her face flush, her heart pounding.
"I came to see you as soon as I got off the plane, still not satisfied?" Jing Rui held Chi Jia close, looking into her eyes, then, finding her too reserved, she continued, "I seem to recall someone saying they missed me a few days ago?"
Chi Jia couldn't help but smile, secretly loving being seduced like this by Jing Rui, and after days of deliberately keeping her distance, she was dying to be with Jing Rui again.
"Don't you miss me?" Chi Jia asked, surprised by her own words.
Jing Rui captured Chi Jia's lips with a kiss, a soft touch that sent a wave of sweetness through them both. "I do."
Chi Jia felt that Jing Rui's seductiveness was innate, even in her eyes. Every time she looked at Jing Rui up close, that alluring gaze would captivate her completely.
But remembering how Jing Rui had charmed everyone downstairs, Chi Jia felt a pang of jealousy, and she turned her head away as Jing Rui leaned in for another kiss.
"Hmm?"
"You were flirting with everyone again downstairs."
"Again? Who was I flirting with, don't you know?" Jing Rui raised an eyebrow, then lifted Chi Jia's chin, a gesture she was particularly fond of, it made Miss Chi look so soft and vulnerable, so easy to tease.
"They were all staring at you!" Chi Jia complained.
"And that's my fault?"
"Who told you to…" Chi Jia searched for a reason, then blurted out, "Who told you to smile like a vixen?"
"You're being unreasonable." Jing Rui smiled, her tone indulgent, then unable to resist, she leaned in and kissed Chi Jia, a slow, deliberate kiss.
Silence fell.
"Mmm…" Chi Jia's head tilted back slightly, then she surrendered to the kiss, her lips parting to welcome Jing Rui's tongue.
Sitting on Jing Rui's lap, Chi Jia's hands moved from Jing Rui's shoulders to her face, gently caressing it as she kissed her passionately, her desire unrestrained.
All her longing poured into the kiss; actions spoke louder than words between them.
"I'm all yours this weekend." Jing Rui said, her lips brushing against Chi Jia's forehead.
"Really?"
Jing Rui gently caressed Chi Jia's cheek, a playful glint in her eyes. "I'll make up for everything I owe you."
Chi Jia smiled, a contented smile, and seeing Jing Rui's soft, inviting lips, she couldn't help but lean in for another kiss, savoring the moment.
As their passion grew, Jing Rui's hand moved to Chi Jia's abdomen, gently caressing it, then lower, her palm resting on Chi Jia's thigh, her fingers brushing against her inner thigh.
Chi Jia's body tensed, anticipating this. She grabbed Jing Rui's hand, her voice slightly embarrassed. "We're still in the office…"
Jing Rui, kissing Chi Jia's ear, chuckled. "It's not our first time here."
Chi Jia's face burned, remembering their encounter on the desk, still so vivid in her mind.
"No, I want to take you somewhere first…"
"Okay, anything you want." Jing Rui kissed Chi Jia's cheek. "But you can't escape me tonight."
