SCOM - Chapter 15
Chapter 15
The classroom's circulation system cleared pheromones quickly; in less than ten minutes, the pheromones in the air were completely absorbed. The second-year cadets finally regained a bit of their senses and sobered up, but their bodies were still more or less stained with the pheromones.
This was especially true for Zuo Luohuan. She had been so close to Geng Yingyu earlier, and the other girl had clearly used her Omega pheromones to provoke her. Never mind her clothes, even the strands of her hair were dyed with the musk-scented pheromones, as if she had been soaked in someone else's pheromones.
S-class Omega musk pheromones were also one of the most difficult to endure in desensitization simulation training, filled with the scent of desire.
"I'm leaving first, I have another class to get to." Jiang Hong kept his distance from Zuo Luohuan, showing none of the 'intimacy' from before he arrived. He took off his military uniform, rolled it up, tucked it under his arm, and hurried back to his dorm.
Kang Guang and the ten senior students had long since gone next door to clean up and change, leaving at a leisurely pace and leaving a group of second-years in the classroom to stare at one another. They hadn't brought clean clothes, so they could only stay in the classroom for a while. Once they felt they were just about presentable enough to go out, they sprinted back to their dorms.
In the end, everyone in the classroom had cleared out, leaving only one person behind.
Zuo Luohuan: "..."
She had never expected the first class of "Solo Combat" to turn out like this.
Fortunately, her next Command Department course didn't start until one in the afternoon. Zuo Luohuan stayed in the classroom until ten-thirty, waiting until most students were in class before she stepped out.
The Combat Department's classes were mostly held in one building, a building teeming with Alphas. Just as Zuo Luohuan went downstairs, she encountered an Alpha coming around the corner from the restroom. The other person froze upon seeing her, then, smelling the Omega pheromones on her, quickly turned and ducked back into the restroom.
Zuo Luohuan paid it no mind, only thinking of getting back to her dorm as quickly as possible to wash off the scent. She disliked having anyone's pheromones lingering on her. But she had overlooked one thing: the Alphas of the First Military Academy collectively viewed Zuo Luohuan as a rival. After all, she had differentiated at fifteen and was rumored to be the Federation's top Alpha, yet she had no merits to her name. Merely challenging the red list was not enough to convince everyone.
Would a normal person feel any goodwill toward a rival? No.
So, that Alpha turned and fled into the restroom, and immediately filed a report with the Disciplinary Committee: 【Report! Second-year cadet Zuo Luohuan is wandering the campus covered in Omega pheromones. Please take her away!】
It wasn't just this Alpha; every Alpha Zuo Luohuan encountered along the way took the same action of reporting her.
After several on-duty members of the Disciplinary Committee received this report, they exchanged glances. Finally, someone said, "They say it's musk-scented pheromones. Alphas shouldn't go. Let the Omegas and Betas handle it."
"Should we deduct her points when we go over there?" Ding Wuming asked, raising his hand. "If no Alphas go, what if Zuo Luohuan loses control?"
A senior female student from the Disciplinary Committee said, looking troubled, "Cadets who've just finished a Combat Department course often get stained with pheromones. Usually, they just head back to their dorms, and we don't deduct points for that." It was easy to get overly excited during Combat Department classes, and drawing blood was a common occurrence. Even members of their Disciplinary Committee often found themselves in such situations.
"For so many Alphas to dare to report her, it must mean Zuo Luohuan wasn't just stained with a tiny bit of Omega pheromones," another senior male student said. "Did something happen? Have a few Alphas take inhibitors and go over, just to be safe."
"What are you all gathered here for?" Ji Yuezhi had been in his differentiation period recently and hadn't been to the Disciplinary Committee. He took some time to come over and check today, only to find the on-duty members huddled together.
Upon seeing Ji Yuezhi, everyone couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief and quickly explained the matter to him in a few words.
After listening, Ji Yuezhi's expression remained unchanged as he said calmly, "I'll take some people to have a look."
Everyone who went gave themselves a shot of inhibitor. The more cautious ones also applied a scent patch to the back of their necks to prevent any accidents, lest they lose control of their own pheromones and cause a secondary disturbance. Only then did they follow Ji Yuezhi.
With so many people reporting her, the Disciplinary Committee members forwarded all the messages to Ji Yuezhi. He could practically see Zuo Luohuan's real-time location at any given moment.
...
Zuo Luohuan didn't return to her dorm. The after-effects of her headache swept over her once again, the pain so intense she could only find a secluded corner to lean against for a moment.
Because her location had deviated, the reports had stopped, and she wasn't heading back to her dorm, the Disciplinary Committee members began to panic, thinking something might have happened.
"The pheromones are from class," Ji Yuezhi said, turning his head to the anxious person beside him. "Her first class today was with Instructor Kang Guang."
Instructor Kang Guang, notoriously ruthless.
The person beside him was still pondering what kind of class Instructor Kang Guang had taught to leave Zuo Luohuan drenched in Omega pheromones, completely oblivious as to why Ji Yuezhi knew Zuo Luohuan's schedule so clearly.
The group walked to Zuo Luohuan's last known location and stopped. It was a long flight of stairs, flanked on both sides by tall grass. The stairs led down to another academic building. At the bottom, a park for students to rest and stroll lay to the left, while the path to the various dormitories was to the right.
"In pairs, spread out and search," Ji Yuezhi ordered them to split up and search.
A total of nine people from the Disciplinary Committee had come. After they formed groups, he was the only one left.
Ji Yuezhi stood in place for a moment. A faint scent of Omega pheromones still lingered in the air, a testament to how thick the pheromones clinging to Zuo Luohuan must have been.
Even though he knew Zuo Luohuan had only been scented with the pheromones because of class, standing here now, smelling this scent, the thought of an Omega's pheromones covering a large area of her body, that perhaps she had even lost control because of these pheromones and failed to return to her dorm in time...
Ji Yuezhi lowered his gaze to the steps at his feet, his lips pressing into a straight line. Did she have so little self-control?
The people who had come had all taken inhibitors, their sensitivity to pheromones instantly dropping to a minimum. They didn't detect the faint Omega pheromones lingering in the air.
Ji Yuezhi had not taken an inhibitor. He lifted his foot, descended the stairs, and followed the scent in the air toward the park on the left, in the direction of the bamboo garden.
The bamboo garden had been designed by a master for a school anniversary a century ago, filled with bamboo groves, rockeries, and flowing water. The deeper Ji Yuezhi walked, the stronger the pheromones became. He finally stopped in front of a two-meter-high rockery.
He didn't walk around it, just stood on his side of the rockery for a moment. He tossed a small box over and said coolly to the person behind it, "Inhibitor."
Sitting behind the rockery, Zuo Luohuan's face was abnormally pale. Ji Yuezhi hadn't hidden his footsteps as he approached; she had heard him but hadn't moved. Now, she glanced sideways at the box that had rolled to rest by her hand, and only after a long moment did she press the cigarette between her fingers against the ground to extinguish it.
Zuo Luohuan tilted her head back and gently exhaled a final puff of white smoke. She reached out, picked up the inhibitor, and rose from behind the rockery. Meeting Ji Yuezhi's eyes, she gave a careless laugh. "I have no use for an inhibitor at the moment."
No out-of-control Alpha pheromones were leaking from her. Her body was merely clouded with a mixture of other people's pheromones, the most pungent of which was an Omega's, with an extremely heavy musk scent.
Ji Yuezhi's perpetually tense spine finally, imperceptibly, relaxed. He looked at Zuo Luohuan and said, "Multiple students have reported you for wandering around covered in Omega pheromones. I hope you will return and clean yourself up as soon as possible."
Seeing that Zuo Luohuan seemed unmoved, he added another sentence: "It's foul."
Right in front of Ji Yuezhi, Zuo Luohuan tossed the cigarette butt into a nearby trash can, completely unconcerned about the point deduction. She walked straight toward him until they were nearly face-to-face. She raised the tail of her eyebrow, a hint of surprise in her eyes. "I didn't realize that besides Alphas being repulsed by the pheromones of their own kind, you Omegas are also repulsed by other Omegas' pheromones."
The pain in her head hadn't subsided much, and Zuo Luohuan's mind wasn't entirely clear. After saying this, she felt a pang of regret. The person before her had just differentiated from an expected Alpha into an Omega; the phrase 'you Omegas' sounded more like discrimination.
Upon hearing this, Ji Yuezhi did not get angry. He simply took a step back, maintaining his usual calm and indifference, and retorted, "You're not going back to clean up. Are you hiding here to secretly sniff the Omega pheromones on your body?"
Her face was pale, and with no personal pheromones leaking out, she showed no signs of being affected by the Omega pheromones.
Zuo Luohuan bent slightly, once again closing the distance to Ji Yuezhi, and whispered beside his ear, "I don't like the Omega pheromones on me."
It was just a simple declarative sentence, but as the two of them were nearly pressed together, it seemed exceptionally intimate.
Especially in the next moment, when Zuo Luohuan looked up at the close-at-hand Ji Yuezhi and asked with a light laugh, "Classmate Ji, what's to be done? You've been scented with my smell now, too."
He knew what she meant. This musk pheromone scent was exceptionally strong; being so close, he would inevitably be stained by it to some degree. But hearing it spoken softly by the person before him, it carried a bone-deep, lingering ambiguity.
Ji Yuezhi's fingertips dug hard into his palm, forcing himself to remain calm. He was well-disguised, his pair of dark eyes meeting Zuo Luohuan's with direct composure. "You're the one who was reported."
Zuo Luohuan finally increased the distance between them, not pushing it too far. She smiled politely, "I'll go clean up now." With that, she walked past Ji Yuezhi and headed in the direction of the dormitories.
Ji Yuezhi stood rooted to the spot, lowering his head to message the Disciplinary Committee members to stop their search. A moment later, he turned his head to look at the trash can, which held the cigarette butt Zuo Luohuan had tossed in just before.
A year ago, Zuo Luohuan had never touched a cigarette. Since the semester began, this was the second time he had seen her smoke.
Recalling Zuo Luohuan's pale face from moments ago, Ji Yuezhi couldn't help but wonder what had happened to her last year.
On the way back, Ji Yuezhi caught the extremely faint scent of musk pheromones on himself. Remembering Zuo Luohuan's words about being scented, the displeasure in his heart was inexplicably tinged with more complex emotions. The tips of his ears grew unconsciously hot.
