If It’s Wrong, Then It’s Wrong - Chapter 94

Chapter 94

Chapter 94: The Thirty-Fourth Day

This was the first time Cheng Liu had felt such unrestrained emotion from Ji Chaozhou, while fully conscious.

Ji Chaozhou, his eyes still closed, after a soft "I'm sorry," kissed her almost reverently, his usual coldness replaced by a tender vulnerability.

Their warm breaths mingled, tongues touching and tasting, the heat between them rising, an uncontrollable surge of intimacy.

The motion-sensor light in the front yard suddenly went out, plunging Cheng Liu, standing at the door, into darkness, while the living room lights illuminated Ji Chaozhou from behind. This time, he was the one in the light.

After a moment, Cheng Liu gently pushed him away, stepping back as the front yard light came back on.

“I should go,” Cheng Liu said, her thumb gently wiping his moist lower lip, looking at him intently. “You don’t have to apologize. I don’t mind.”

She liked his unguarded affection, his passionate side, but not like this, as if he was lowering himself, begging for her favor.

Ji Chaozhou paused, the lingering bitterness in his heart dissolving, replaced by a sudden joy. He had wanted her complete and utter devotion, testing the boundaries, yet also afraid of her disapproval, her rejection.

He looked at the warmth and sincerity in her eyes, then, turning his head slightly, nuzzled against her palm.

Cheng Liu’s breath hitched: Was he…acting cute?

Her heart pounded, a rapid, uncontrollable rhythm.

A usually cold and aloof beauty, suddenly making such a gesture…even the steadfast CEO Cheng couldn’t resist.

“I…I should go,” she stammered, pulling her hand away.

She couldn't stay any longer; she was about to be overwhelmed by his cuteness.

CEO Cheng, fleeing the scene, thought: This is too much. Too exciting.

Ji Chaozhou watched her disappear through the doorway, then turned and went back inside.

1:00 am. He lay in bed, unable to sleep. After a while, seeing the light spilling over from the backyard next door, he sat up.

The bedroom light came on. Ji Chaozhou walked over to the full-length mirror.

The young man in the mirror wore a black silk robe, the gold-embroidered sash tied tightly around his narrow waist, his pale skin glowing like jade, his long legs extending beneath the robe. Just standing there, he commanded attention, the light seeming to favor him, illuminating him.

Ji Chaozhou loosened the sash, the collar falling open slightly, then went to the wardrobe, revealing rows of perfume bottles.

His fingers moved past the first two rows, stopping at a bottle in the corner, which he picked up, spraying a small amount on himself.

Unlike the coldness of Midu, this scent was alluring, inviting, a hidden warmth beneath its cool exterior.

Having done this, Ji Chaozhou left his bedroom, walking towards the villa next door.

Villa Number Six's door was unlocked. He entered without any resistance, walking through the living room and up the stairs.

Cheng Liu was in her bedroom. She had finished her work but was still awake, scrolling through Moments. One of her employees had posted photos from their wedding photoshoot. The photos were ordinary, nothing special, like any other generic photoshoot, but the love in their eyes as they looked at each other was palpable, and Cheng Liu was envious.

CEO Cheng, having seen that post, was wide awake. She wanted to marry Ji Chaozhou!

So, Cheng Liu, at 1:00 am, was messaging the entertainment reporter, Kong Zhouyun: [Do you do…wedding photoshoots? The kind for weddings?]

Kong Zhouyun was working overtime. This was peak time for entertainment reporters to release news. He had received Cheng Liu’s message and was instantly alert.

Wedding Photographer Kong Zhouyun: [You and…him? I do! I’ll do it! For free!]

Cheng Liu: [You don’t have to do it for free. I can pay.]

They began discussing the details of the photoshoot.

Before they could finalize anything, someone knocked on the door.

Cheng Liu looked up and saw Ji Chaozhou standing there. She quickly put away her phone, pretending she had been working. “You’re still awake?” she asked, standing up.

Ji Chaozhou, glancing at her, gave a soft “mm” in acknowledgement, walking over to the bed and lying down beside her, as if he belonged there.

Cheng Liu, looking at him lying on the bed: So he doesn't mind her staying at his villa, but he won’t let her stay at his.

“The toiletries in the bathroom are all in pairs. You can use them,” Cheng Liu said, pleased. The things she had bought at the supermarket could finally be put to use.

Ji Chaozhou turned to her: “Aren’t you…sleeping?”

“I am!” Cheng Liu said, quickly lying down.

The only problem was the bed was too big. They couldn't lie close together. But a large bed was conducive to their future happiness.

So, CEO Cheng turned off the light.

In the darkness, she slowly inched closer to Ji Chaozhou.

He pretended not to notice, until their shoulders touched, and she finally stopped.

After a while, Cheng Liu turned, facing him in the darkness, her hand reaching out to take his. Sensing no resistance, she held on.

“You smell nice,” Cheng Liu whispered, leaning closer. “Did you…change your shower gel?”

“Mm,” Ji Chaozhou said, shifting slightly, but not pulling away, even moving closer to her.

“I like this one too,” Cheng Liu said sincerely.

Ji Chaozhou thought she was going to do something, but she simply snuggled closer, then fell asleep.

He frowned. Had the perfume not worked?

He waited until her breathing deepened, then, unable to suppress his disappointment, finally drifted off to sleep as well.

A long time later, Cheng Liu opened her eyes, looking at him in the darkness, then, leaning closer, kissed him gently on the corner of his mouth.

—Next time.

Cheng Liu woke up early. Ji Chaozhou was already gone. He sat up, about to get out of bed, when he noticed the nightstand drawer wasn’t closed properly. He reached out to fix it, but it was stuck.

He pulled harder, and the drawer opened, revealing its contents, which made him freeze.

The drawer was overflowing with…something. That was why it hadn't closed properly.

Ji Chaozhou: “…”

He took out the overflowing items, noticing the familiar double happiness stickers at the bottom.

Ji Chaozhou, after a long pause, carefully placed everything back in the drawer, closing it, pretending he hadn’t seen anything.

He went into the bathroom. New toiletries were neatly arranged, all matching the ones Cheng Liu used.

Ugly.

Ji Chaozhou, ignoring them, looked for his cleanser, opening the mirror cabinet. He didn’t find his cleanser, but he saw a familiar box, the same as the ones in the nightstand drawer. He soon found more in other corners of the bathroom, even one hidden on the stairs.

Ji Chaozhou: “…”
