Chapter 64

Zhou Li received news from above that Zhang Yongzhen had been killed at the research institute and the surveillance footage was destroyed. They were currently searching the surrounding area, and he was instructed to observe Zuo Luohuan and Ji Yuezhi's group for any unusual movements.

Jiang Hong and Luo Shaoyuan had been enjoying themselves at the hotel for the past few days, their figures visible everywhere. As for the remaining two, Zuo Luohuan and Ji Yuezhi, they were getting intimate in their room. Although he couldn't hear anything clearly, the fact that room service was called to clean the room several times a day was undeniable.

Zhou Li reported the group's situation to his superiors, but they asked if he had seen it with his own eyes.

The curtains were drawn, the shows were playing, and there were no surveillance cameras. They could only see a small section of the hallway, so how could they possibly see it with their own eyes?

Upon hearing this, his superiors immediately ordered him to find a way to open Ji Yuezhi's door and see if the two were really inside and what they were doing.

Zhou Li had no choice but to send the hotel manager and some thugs to Ji Yuezhi's room deliberately.

...

"Director Zhou is really something else, making us come over to see if they're really doing it."

"The pheromones in that room are about to burst through the ceiling. No wonder those two are cooped up in their room all day."

"They really are a top-tier Alpha and Omega. They're making a bigger scene than someone in heat."

As soon as they left the room, several of the thugs started talking behind their backs.

The hotel manager stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the first-floor lobby. The terrified demeanor he had in the room was completely gone. He clicked his tongue and said lewdly, "Say what you will, but that Omega is incredibly seductive. The way her watery eyes look at you, tsk tsk."

"Manager, did you get a look at that Young Master Ji?" one of the men behind him asked curiously. "That Zuo Luohuan moved too fast just now, I didn't get a clear look."

"Her pheromones were so oppressive I couldn't even lift my head. I didn't see him either," another man chimed in.

"I only caught a small glimpse," the hotel manager said with some regret. "Let's go back and tell Director Zhou that everything inside is normal."

The men thought a simple apology would suffice. After going downstairs to the lobby and dispersing, the hotel manager resumed his sincere, smiling appearance to greet guests.

However, just as he finished with a guest, he heard the sound of the elevator opposite him opening. He subconsciously glanced over, only to see Zuo Luohuan standing inside with a blank expression.

After settling Ji Yuezhi, Zuo Luohuan hadn't even put on her jacket. She walked straight out and followed the group to the first-floor lobby.

"Miss Zuo." The hotel manager's face instantly filled with apology. "It was our negligence just now that led to..."

Zuo Luohuan stepped out of the elevator and walked directly toward the hotel manager. Without a word, she kicked him to the ground.

In the first-floor lobby, unsuspecting guests cried out in alarm and instinctively moved away from them.

Zuo Luohuan slowly walked toward the hotel manager and leaned down to look at him. "Which hand opened the door just now?"

The hotel manager curled up on the floor, his face pale. Zuo Luohuan's kick had held nothing back, and he was unable to speak.

Zuo Luohuan let out a laugh. "It seems you can't tell either."

She lifted her foot and broke the manager's hands one by one. His blood-curdling screams sent a chill down the spines of everyone around.

"Miss Zuo, Miss Zuo, what's going on?" Zhou Li, seemingly woken up in a hurry, rushed over with a coat thrown over his shoulders. "Let's talk this out calmly."

"Your hotel manager took a key card, brought a group of people over, opened my room, and then told me he opened the wrong one by mistake." Zuo Luohuan grabbed the manager's hair, dragged him to the front desk, and smashed his head directly into the terminal.

Only when the front desk terminal was smashed did Zuo Luohuan let go, tossing the half-dead manager aside. "Since the system isn't working properly, let's just smash it."

Zhou Li gritted his teeth in hatred, but his face showed panic. "Miss Zuo is right. These systems should have been smashed and replaced long ago. These people are getting more and more careless. They must be punished!"

"Mm," Zuo Luohuan nodded condescendingly, then walked out and turned her head to look at Zhou Li. "Before we came, didn't you say you would host us well on behalf of the Star Lord? Is this what you call hospitality?"

Zhou Li bowed slightly. "I'm truly sorry, Miss Zuo. It was all our fault."

"Failing to do what you're supposed to do, according to the Army Group's methods, deserves punishment," Zuo Luohuan said slowly as she walked up to Zhou Li.

Zhou Li's whole body stiffened. He looked up. "Miss Zuo..."

Zuo Luohuan patted Zhou Li's cheek with the back of her hand. "What, are you worried I'll hit you too?"

Hearing this, Zhou Li felt a sense of relief. Zuo Luohuan would still show some consideration for his dignity.

"Then you weren't wrong to worry," Zuo Luohuan continued.

Zhou Li's expression froze. He even suspected he had misheard. But in the next second, Zuo Luohuan grabbed him by the neck, making it almost impossible for him to breathe, his neck turning red. Just when Zhou Li thought he was going to be choked to death, Zuo Luohuan suddenly let go, slamming him against a pillar in the lobby.

Unable to mind the sharp pain in his back, Zhou Li fell to the ground, clutching his neck, desperately gasping for air and coughing violently. He lay there in a pathetic state, as if he were about to cough up his lungs.

"Next time you barge into our room," Zuo Luohuan said, looking at the two men on the floor, "it would be better to just gouge out your eyes."

Everyone watched as Zuo Luohuan walked into the elevator. No one dared to stop her. She perfectly embodied the scion of a powerful family with an Army Group background, and this time, the hotel was indeed in the wrong.

Returning to Ji Yuezhi's room, Zuo Luohuan paused at the door, then turned to wash her hands in the bathroom. She grabbed a warm towel before walking back out.

They had deliberately not used the purifier to clear the pheromones in the room. As a result, for Ji Yuezhi, who was resting on the bed, his body's reaction hadn't subsided; instead, it had grown even stronger without the Alpha's comfort.

As soon as Zuo Luohuan entered, she saw him sitting quietly against the bed, his ten fingers gripping the snow-white sheets tightly. For a moment, it was hard to tell if the sheets were whiter, or his hands.

She turned on the circulation purifier, sat down, and gently pried Ji Yuezhi's fingers open. His fingers unconsciously wrapped around hers.

Zuo Luohuan let Ji Yuezhi's fingers intertwine with hers, then forcibly pulled her other hand free to lift his face.

Ji Yuezhi's entire body was burning hot. He wasn't in a heat period, but Zuo Luohuan's pheromones could easily provoke a reaction in him. Because he had been enduring for so long, the faint blush on his face had gradually faded, leaving only paleness.

After lifting Ji Yuezhi's face, Zuo Luohuan let him lean on her shoulder and gently wiped the sweat from his face with the warm towel, coaxing him in a low voice, "I've turned on the circulation purifier. It'll be better in a bit, just bear with it."

Ji Yuezhi vaguely heard Zuo Luohuan speaking. He opened his eyes to look at her and asked in a hoarse voice, "...How long is 'in a bit'?"

"Is it very uncomfortable?" Zuo Luohuan frowned upon hearing his raspy voice.

The Omega could smell the faint trace of pheromones lingering on the Alpha, which calmed his heart considerably. He nuzzled her shoulder with some dependence. "Mm."

Zuo Luohuan thought he was nodding and didn't think much of it. She tossed the towel aside and continued to gently massage the gland on the back of Ji Yuezhi's neck.

The massage was comfortable, and the corners of Ji Yuezhi's eyes turned crimson. He lifted his moist eyes to gaze at Zuo Luohuan's chin. Although his mind was a mess, one clear thought persisted: in his current state, she wouldn't mind whatever he did.

His actions followed his heart. Ji Yuezhi suddenly tilted his head up and kissed Zuo Luohuan's chin, his long lashes shut tight, trembling slightly if one looked closely.

Zuo Luohuan's hand, which was massaging the back of his neck, paused. She didn't push him away immediately. Instead, her hand moved up to gently support his head, so he wouldn't be too tired or uncomfortable from tilting his head back.

Leaning on Zuo Luohuan's shoulder, Ji Yuezhi's gaze grew more dazed. He even began to straighten up, his lips inching upward, seeking to kiss hers.

Just as their lips were about to touch, Zuo Luohuan turned her head slightly to the side. He only managed to kiss the corner of her mouth.

Zuo Luohuan's evasive action startled Ji Yuezhi, and his eyes gradually cleared. He struggled to sit up and leave her embrace. "...Has the report been sent to Chairman Zuo?"

Zuo Luohuan didn't answer him right away. Instead, she helped him sit up against the headboard. "I'll get you a glass of water to soothe your throat first."

Ji Yuezhi didn't look at her, his gaze falling on the table to the side. "Thank you."

The romantic atmosphere had not yet dissipated. The room still faintly smelled of the refreshing, watery, sweet fragrance formed by the mix of extreme cold ice and snow and sweet iris, but the distance between them seemed to have suddenly widened.
