SCOM - Chapter 63
Chapter 63
"I never thought you'd be Zuo Dihong's daughter." Zhang Yongzhen smiled down at Zuo Luohuan below. "It wasn't a waste to wait here for a few days."
After seeing Zuo Luohuan at the administrative center that day, he had felt a strange sense of familiarity. But Shui Bai never got close to people and didn't particularly like Omegas, whereas Zuo Luohuan was openly flirting with that Ji Yuezhi in public. It was said that while they lived separately on the surface, they were actually entangled whenever they had free time.
But he could never shake that strange sense of familiarity, so he ultimately chose to stand guard at the research institute alone at night.
When he had shown them around that day, he had deliberately misled them, saying the sixth floor was closed to the public and the professor only came on specific days. In reality, the most respected professor at the institute was in his second-floor office every day, and the safe in the corner of his office would trigger an alarm the moment it was opened.
Zhang Yongzhen waited in the sixth-floor testing room every night without telling anyone. If no one came, then that sense of familiarity was just his imagination. But if someone did come... it had to be Shui Bai.
For the past few years, they had been very careful. Only Shui Bai had discovered the clues and escaped.
Zhang Yongzhen completely ignored Zuo Luohuan's question, clearly one hundred percent certain that she was Shui Bai.
The faint smile on Zuo Luohuan's face vanished completely. She looked up at him, her expression blank. "I thought you would at least kill me with your own hands."
Hearing this, Zhang Yongzhen leaped down from the second floor. "Last time, something came up, so I had to hand you over to Hong Tongdao. Not this time. You are my friend, after all. I want to send you on your way personally."
The moment he came down, Yan Yan seized the opportunity to escape with the documents into the emergency exit and quickly went upstairs. He didn't dare to linger, running swiftly to the rooftop, taking a grappling hook from his backpack, and throwing it toward the adjacent administrative building, using the rope to quickly enter through a window.
I have to get these documents out.
Meanwhile, on the first floor of the research institute, Zuo Luohuan watched Zhang Yongzhen descend and suddenly laughed. "Send me on my way? You can try."
"I'm very curious, how did you escape from the mines?" Zhang Yongzhen had a fully formed second-generation Robot Dog under his control and paid no mind to Zuo Luohuan's words.
Hong Tongdao had tortured her until she was barely breathing and had injected her with all sorts of random drugs, especially the Subjugation Serum, which was the best drug for interrogating Alphas. Even the most formidable Alpha couldn't endure the pain after being injected with it. That's why he had let his guard down for a moment, only sending two subordinates to take her to the back of the mines to dispose of her.
In the end, she wasn't disposed of; instead, his two subordinates were killed. Furthermore, because he had killed the Hong family heir, allowing Hong Tongdao to take control of the Hong family's assets, it caused a period of turmoil on Xijiang Exile Star. By the time they increased their manpower to search for Shui Bai, they couldn't find any trace of her.
Zuo Luohuan stood in the middle, her gaze sweeping over the robot dog. It had red eyes and a light gun in its hand. This was a Gashiro robot dog.
She spoke faintly, "I was just buried in a mineral cart for a few days." Relying only on a hollow weed stalk to breathe, she had been buried in the minerals on a transport vehicle for two days. There were several times Zuo Luohuan thought she would die there. Finally, when the minerals were loaded into the starship's cargo bay and it took off, she struggled out of the bay and was rescued by the pilot.
"A mineral cart?" Zhang Yongzhen seemed to find this hilarious, bending over and laughing loudly. There was a hint of madness in him, completely different from the calm and knowledgeable secretary she had seen during the day. "Buried in that kind of mineral for days and you didn't die? Shui Bai, you really are lucky."
Zuo Luohuan pulled a flexible blade from her sleeve, twirling it nonchalantly between her knuckles. "Are you from Gashiro?"
Zhang Yongzhen's laughter stopped abruptly. He straightened up and looked at Zuo Luohuan. "Yes. I originally wanted to be friends with you for a few more years, but who told you to go to Hong Tongdao's study?"
"I'm not worthy of being friends with someone from Gashiro." The flexible blade between Zuo Luohuan's knuckles suddenly shot toward the robot dog, destroying the chamber of the light gun in its hand.
"I was going to give you a quick death." Zhang Yongzhen's expression gradually darkened, and his pupils became vertical slits. He and the robot dog attacked from the front and back.
The chamber of the robot dog's light gun was destroyed and unusable. A curved blade instantly sprang out from its elbow to its forearm, and it slashed at Zuo Luohuan. On the other side, Zhang Yongzhen also aimed a light gun at her and fired.
Zuo Luohuan sidestepped the robot dog's curved blade, reached out to grab its shoulder, and forcefully pulled it in front of her, blocking Zhang Yongzhen's light gun bullet.
The robot dog's head and limbs rotated a full one hundred and eighty degrees, resuming its close-quarters attack on Zuo Luohuan. Just as the tip of the curved blade was about to pierce her eye, Zuo Luohuan bent her knee and struck its abdomen.
Although the robot dog felt no pain, Zuo Luohuan's force was immense. A single blow sent it flying. She then grabbed its arm, and the two-meter-tall robot dog was lifted and slammed into Zhang Yongzhen, who was approaching from behind.
Zhang Yongzhen was knocked back a few steps. He raised his hand and fired the light gun at Zuo Luohuan.
Zuo Luohuan caught sight of the flexible blade on the ground out of the corner of her eye. As she rolled to dodge, she snatched the blade back into her hand.
The robot dog and Zhang Yongzhen stood together, attacking her in unison. Zuo Luohuan didn't retreat; instead, she charged forward, kicking at Zhang Yongzhen.
In the instant they were airborne, they had already exchanged several blows. Zhang Yongzhen dodged Zuo Luohuan's kick, but she was kicked in the abdomen. However, she managed to grab the light gun in his hand, turn it around, and shoot the chip in the robot dog's head.
Zhang Yongzhen didn't have time to check on the robot dog. He forcefully wrenched his light gun back and fired wildly at Zuo Luohuan, only to find her getting closer and closer.
Zuo Luohuan dodged the dense barrage of light gun fire, even having the presence of mind to raise the back of her hand and wipe the blood from the corner of her lips. Like a demon returned from hell, she instantly appeared in front of Zhang Yongzhen. In his field of vision, he only saw her hand lift slightly, her knuckles gently grazing his neck.
In that instant, Zhang Yongzhen felt no pain, only a cold sensation on his neck.
"Last time you ambushed me alone, and you dare to come alone again?" Zuo Luohuan's gaze was cold. She stood to the side with her hand lowered, only a thin line of blood on the flexible blade between her fingers.
Hearing her words, Zhang Yongzhen subconsciously wanted to retort that he had brought a robot dog and had a light gun, but he couldn't get any words out. A strange sound came from his throat.
The next second, he saw a spray of red blood in the air.
In the moment before he fell, Zhang Yongzhen's brain finally processed the information—the blood was spraying from his own neck.
Zuo Luohuan watched indifferently as Zhang Yongzhen collapsed. His carotid artery was severed. In less than a minute, he was soaked in his own blood.
She held the flexible blade, bent down, and wiped the blood on his clothes, whispering, "Such a quick death. A parting gift from a friend."
Zuo Luohuan put away the flexible blade and took out a light gun from behind her waist. She looked down at it, suddenly recalling the scene that afternoon when Ji Yuezhi had given it to her.
This light gun didn't belong to any series. It was specially designed for Ji Yuezhi by the Seventeenth Army's weapons research and development department at Ji Xixiu's request, for his self-defense. It was only palm-sized, easy to carry. On the night of his coming-of-age ceremony, Ji Yuezhi had once aimed this very gun at Zuo Luohuan, yet today he had lent it to her.
Zuo Luohuan lowered her eyes and chuckled softly, an unreadable emotion in them, before putting the light gun away.
If she had used this light gun, she wouldn't have had to struggle so much against Zhang Yongzhen and the robot dog. But unless absolutely necessary, Zuo Luohuan would never use it. A determined person could trace it back to Ji Yuezhi.
The commotion on the first floor of the research institute was not small. Zuo Luohuan didn't linger, quickly heading upstairs to leave. Before she left, she could already faintly see people rushing in this direction.
Yan Yan had successfully returned to his home. He sent the recorded files to Ji Yuezhi and temporarily hid the physical documents.
When Zuo Luohuan arrived, people from the Jiang family were waiting at the hotel's back door. They had her hide in a laundry cart, and after Ji Yuezhi called for laundry service, they pushed the cart upstairs and into the room.
Just then, they received a message from Jiang Hong, who was having fun at the pool.
【The situation at the research institute has been discovered. The hotel manager just finished a communication and is heading your way. I don't know why they still suspect you.】
For the past few days, Jiang Hong and Luo Shaoyuan had been constantly enjoying themselves in the hotel's public areas. Even if someone was suspicious, they had no proof. But Ji Yuezhi and Zuo Luohuan were different.
"You can leave after you change the sheets," Zuo Luohuan said to the person from the Jiang family.
"Yes."
Their comms vibrated. It was a message from Jiang Hong: 【They'll be at your room in about a minute. They have a key card. Don't blow your cover.】
Seeing Zuo Luohuan safe and sound, Ji Yuezhi breathed a sigh of relief. After the door closed, he watched her quietly, but a large amount of iris-scented pheromones was released. He forcefully pushed her onto the sofa and knelt on it himself.
When Zuo Luohuan saw Ji Yuezhi push her, she didn't dodge. Instead, she let him push her down onto the sofa. As he knelt over her, she reached out to support his waist.
At this moment, Ji Yuezhi was kneeling on the sofa with his legs apart. They were face to face, very close. He straightened his back, trying his best not to sit on her thighs.
Zuo Luohuan sensed the fluctuation of pheromones in the air. The Omega seemed a little nervous. She released her own potent Alpha pheromones, which mixed with the Omega's, soothing him.
The entire room was instantly filled with a sensual aroma.
"Don't be nervous." Zuo Luohuan reached out and gently stroked Ji Yuezhi's waist, pressing him down to sit on her lap.
This was the first time Ji Yuezhi had felt such a strong concentration of Zuo Luohuan's Alpha pheromones outside of a heat period. It wasn't oppressive at all; it was even soothing him. When he felt her palm on the side of his waist, her fingertips gently kneading, he almost instantly went limp and fell into her arms.
After Zuo Luohuan said she was coming back, Ji Yuezhi had timed it to take a shower and change into a bathrobe, trying his best to look the part of someone who had just been intimate. But Zuo Luohuan was still in her original clothes.
Ji Yuezhi placed his hands on her shoulders and subconsciously reminded her, "Your clothes..."
He didn't know how soft his voice had become.
Hearing this, Zuo Luohuan chuckled lightly. She tilted her head up slightly to meet his beautiful, clear eyes, a certain dominant tone in her voice. "Help me take them off."
Ji Yuezhi pressed his lips together. Those people were coming soon. He wanted to quickly take off Zuo Luohuan's clothes, but his hands were trembling. He only managed to take off her jacket and toss it far away.
The sound of people approaching could already be heard outside the room. There was no time.
Ji Yuezhi wrapped his arms around Zuo Luohuan's neck and kissed her. He pressed his warm lips against hers, kissing and nibbling clumsily.
Just then, a beep sounded from outside the door, and the hotel manager burst in with several people who looked like guests.
Zuo Luohuan sighed inwardly. She parted his lips, sucking on them gently. With one hand, she pulled up the bathrobe that was about to slip off, conveniently covering the back of his neck.
"Luohuan..." Ji Yuezhi murmured between their intertwined lips, his voice breathy. He pushed Zuo Luohuan away, wanting to look toward the door.
Zuo Luohuan held Ji Yuezhi down, not letting him look, while quickly grabbing a thin blanket from the sofa and covering his entire body.
The Alpha's pheromones instantly became terrifying, the pressure immense. Some of the people who had entered couldn't resist and fell to their knees, unable to even lift their heads.
Zuo Luohuan carefully wrapped Ji Yuezhi up, a deep hostility in her eyes as she stared at the hotel manager in front. "How much longer do you plan to watch?"
Her tone was light, but the hotel manager instantly broke out in a cold sweat. He and his people scrambled out, shouting, "Our apologies, guest! The system must have given us the wrong room number."
Hearing the door close, Zuo Luohuan finally retracted her pheromones. She loosened her grip slightly and looked down at Ji Yuezhi. He wasn't in good shape. Surrounded by such a large amount of concentrated Alpha pheromones, all his exposed skin was flushed pink, and his beautiful eyes were misty with moisture.
Zuo Luohuan raised her hand and used the pad of her thumb to wipe a bit of moisture from the corner of his lips. Her other hand gently pressed the gland on the back of his neck as she coaxed, "Retract your pheromones. Be good."
Ji Yuezhi felt unwell. He frowned slightly, retracted his pheromones, and buried his face in Zuo Luohuan's neck without a word.
Neither of them got up. They just held each other like that. Zuo Luohuan's thumb pressed against Ji Yuezhi's gland again and again, easing the Omega's discomfort, waiting for him to recover.
The Alpha was completely unconcerned with her own condition, only gently comforting the Omega.
Ji Yuezhi nestled in Zuo Luohuan's arms, suppressing the pants he could barely hold back. Fine beads of sweat appeared on his smooth forehead, but the tension in his brow gradually eased.
"Feeling better?" Zuo Luohuan lowered her head and whispered softly in his ear.
"...Mmm." Ji Yuezhi looked up and pushed against Zuo Luohuan's shoulders, wanting to get up. But as soon as he stood, his body swayed.
Zuo Luohuan stood up, putting an arm around him, and led him to sit on the bed. She bent down to brush the damp hair from his forehead and said gently, "I'm going out for a bit. I'll be back soon."
