CA - Chapter 251

Chapter 251

Inside the Moon Beast's stomach, neither Wolf Fang nor Eros could use the Power of Darkness as freely as usual. Being unable to use the Power of Darkness meant they had no way to kill each other. Fighting with only physical strength and speed could only inflict a few wounds that made them look rather pathetic.

After giving Eros a sound beating, Wolf Fang quickly calmed down. Knowing she couldn't kill this demonic dragon right now, she simply stopped. The gray beast transformed into her human form in mid-air and landed on the ground.

Eros, who had lost many scales torn off by her, also fell to the ground. Whether by coincidence or intention, she landed right next to Erin. The demonic dragon's massive body rapidly shrank, and a small, battered demonic dragon collapsed at Erin's feet, pitifully playing dead.

Wolf Fang, who was about to walk over to Erin, saw this scene, and her expression darkened again.

The little demonic dragon was missing many scales, and dark red blood had almost soaked its tail. It did indeed look very pitiful.

Erin looked down at the little demonic dragon, frowning. After a moment's hesitation, she bent down and picked it up.

Eros listlessly curled into a ball in Erin's hands, raising a tiny foreclaw to weakly point at the hood behind Erin.

It took Erin a moment to realize it wanted to sleep in her hood. But before she could act, she caught a glimpse of a gray shadow approaching her out of the corner of her eye. She looked up slightly. Wolf Fang was advancing on her, her face expressionless. Whether it was her exceptionally tall stature or the icy pressure she exuded, she looked incredibly intimidating.

Erin silently took a step back, halting her movement to put the little demonic dragon in her hood. She could tell Wolf Fang didn't like the little dragon sleeping in her hood. Although she didn't know why, to prevent Wolf Fang from getting upset again, Erin thought for a moment, then simply pinched the little dragon's tail between her thumb and forefinger and held it up in front of Wolf Fang.

Eros, who had been eagerly waiting to go sleep in the hood, stiffened.

"What should we do with it?" Erin asked, holding up the little demonic dragon for Wolf Fang's opinion. Although the little dragon had saved her a few times, compared to this monster that saw her as food, she trusted Little Fur Ball more.

Erin's action inexplicably improved Wolf Fang's mood. She glanced at Eros without a word, reached out, snatched the little dragon from Erin's hand, and tossed it aside. Though it looked like a casual toss, she used her full strength. When Erin looked up, the little dragon was nowhere to be seen.

"You can't tame this kind of monster," Wolf Fang said lightly. "Get rid of it sooner rather than later."

Not wanting Erin to keep thinking about Eros, she changed the subject to draw Erin's attention. "To get out of the Moon Beast's stomach, we have to wait for it to wake up again."

Wolf Fang grabbed Erin's wrist and pulled her closer. Looking down at the exhaustion and dark circles under her eyes, she frowned. "You look tired. I'll take you to rest."

Without giving Erin time to reply, she turned and led her away.

Erin was stunned for a moment, then trotted to keep up with Wolf Fang. The person in front of her was cold and domineering, nothing like the silly little furball who only knew how to cling to her. After gaining sentience, Little Fur Ball was a "person" now, no longer her little pet. Erin's brow furrowed as she silently accepted this somewhat sad fact in her heart.

Erin hadn't had a proper sleep since arriving in the Dark World. Following Wolf Fang into a spacious and clean cave, she found a spot sheltered from the wind, spread her thick cloak on the ground, and sat down. The softness beneath her slowly relaxed her mind. Erin let out a big yawn, her eyelids feeling heavy.

Wolf Fang leaned against the cave entrance, seemingly with no intention of coming inside. Erin wrapped the cloak covering her tightly, turned her back to Wolf Fang, curled into a ball, and slowly closed her eyes.

Her consciousness grew hazy, and she soon drifted into dreamland. The cave was open on both ends, and a breeze blew through, making the half-asleep Erin hug her arms tightly. A weight settled on her waist, and a warm body pressed against her back. The chill began to slowly dissipate. Erin gradually relaxed in the warm embrace, sinking into a deeper sleep.

The small bundle in her arms unconsciously turned in her sleep to face her. Wolf Fang slipped a hand under the cloak and placed it on Erin's back to ward off the cold. She looked down at Erin, who was sleeping soundly while pillowed on her arm, her gray eyes deep with thought.

This little witch... was too weak. So weak that any monster in the Dark World could kill her. Even the harsh environment here could take her life.

Fortunately, she had arrived in time... Wolf Fang gazed at Erin's sleeping face, a trace of fear lingering in her heart. She raised a hand to brush away the stray hairs on Erin's forehead, her fingertips slowly tracing her features. They lingered on her soft lips for a few seconds before she snatched her hand back as if burned.

...What was she doing? Wolf Fang's expression was strange. She stared at her own hand in a daze, feeling a little shocked.

She was a general of the Dark God, after all. How could she do something like this to a weak human?

Also full of questions was Eros, who had followed Erin's scent and found them. It circled Wolf Fang and Erin a few times, looking at their intimate posture, and asked curiously, "What are you two doing?"

"Is this how you're supposed to eat a Dark Stone?" Eros looked at Erin thoughtfully, slowly flying lower to get closer to her.

Wolf Fang blocked Eros with her hand, looking at it with a warning in her eyes. She lowered her voice and said, "Get lost."

Eros refused to leave. It flew around Wolf Fang's arm and landed on Erin's leg, saying indignantly, "If you hadn't hoarded all the Dark Stones, would I have forgotten how to even eat them?"

What was even more outrageous was that Wolf Fang had changed the shape of the Dark Stones. Piling them into a small mountain was clearly more suitable for monsters like them to coil around and eat.

Wolf Fang glared at her coldly, threatening word by word, "If you still want to get out, then shut your mouth in front of Erin."

Eros snorted disdainfully, turned, and burrowed under the cloak to lie on Erin's calf. Its green eyes darted back and forth, clearly plotting some mischief.

The Moon Beast loved to devour things, but it lacked the ability to digest its "food." Furthermore, its body restricted monsters' ability to use the Power of Darkness to a certain extent. This led many weaker monsters being hunted in the Dark World to seek refuge inside the Moon Beast's stomach.

The Dark World had existed for tens of thousands of years, and the monsters living in the Moon Beast's stomach had already formed different populations, with some new ones even emerging.

In the days Erin spent inside the Moon Beast's stomach, she saw several times more monsters than she had in the first twenty-something years of her life. She suspected that if she ever got out, she could write a monster encyclopedia.

Of course, she had to be able to get out first.

Thinking this, Erin stole a glance at Wolf Fang beside her and asked the question she had asked countless times before, "...How much longer do we have to wait to get out?"

There was no day or night inside the Moon Beast's stomach. By Erin's estimation, they had been trapped here for more than ten days.

If they didn't get out soon, the food in her Space Gem would be gone.

Wolf Fang was silent for a moment before saying in a low voice, "...Just a little longer."

"She's lying to you. She has no way of leaving at all," Eros said, appearing out of nowhere on Erin's shoulder and whispering in her ear.

Erin turned her head to observe Wolf Fang's expression. Wolf Fang's face was grim, and she said nothing.

Erin looked away, thought for a moment, and said, "I believe Little Fur Ball wouldn't lie to me."

Wolf Fang froze for a second, then glanced at Erin discreetly. Her gloomy expression softened slightly.

Eros was furious. "She even lied to you that you're human, and you still believe her! You're clearly a Dark Stone."

Erin: "..."

She didn't want to deal with this stupid dragon, but speaking of Dark Stones... Erin blinked and asked another question she often asked, "You still haven't told me about the Dark Stones. Why does it say a Dark Stone looks like me?"

Wolf Fang wanted to get away with silence again, but Erin kept staring at her, forcing her to come up with a reasonably plausible answer. "...Dark Stones all take the form of ordinary humans when they transform."

"The monsters here haven't seen many humans, and you look very ordinary, so they mistook you for one."

Hearing Wolf Fang's answer, Erin raised a hand to touch her face and said softly with her head down, "I am pretty ordinary." If it were Grace or Lucille, these monsters probably wouldn't have made a mistake.

Of course, they wouldn't have made a mistake if it were Little Fur Ball in her human form either.

Seeing Erin's spirits fall, Wolf Fang, though not knowing what she'd said wrong, instinctively wanted to deny it. "No, you..."

Before she could finish, Eros interrupted, hopping from Erin's right shoulder to her left. "Who says I haven't seen humans? I've seen plenty."

It tilted its head back as if reminiscing, then said to Erin with certainty, "You're much easier on the eyes than other humans."

Although she didn't know what a monster's standard for "easy on the eyes" was, Erin was still a little touched. "Thank you, Eros."

Eros shot Wolf Fang a triumphant look and turned to jump into Erin's hood. Wolf Fang's eyes narrowed, and the pressure around her suddenly dropped.

Sensing the killing intent from Wolf Fang, Eros instinctively dodged and fled. A gray shadow followed close behind, and the dragon and the beast started fighting for the umpteenth time.

Erin watched them fight again, feeling a bit helpless. She summoned a skeleton and was about to find a cave to rest, but before she could command the skeleton to pick her up, the ground beneath her feet suddenly began to tremble, and the dark mountains in the distance also shook.

Are Little Fur Ball and Eros fighting that intensely this time? Erin was startled and quickly turned around. A gray shadow suddenly appeared in front of her. Wolf Fang stared at a trembling green ball of light in the air, her eyes darkening slightly.

Eros flew up from the other side, shouting excitedly, "The Moon Beast actually woke up! We have a chance to get out."

Erin was grabbing Wolf Fang's arm to steady herself. Hearing Eros's words, her eyes lit up. "Really? We can get out?"

Wolf Fang hummed in agreement, her gaze fixed intently above. Feeling the tightness of Erin's grip on her arm, she thought Erin was scared and turned her head to soothe her in a low voice, "Don't be afraid. I'll get you out."

Although her tone was flat, it sounded gentle to Erin. Erin stared blankly at Wolf Fang's profile, her eyes bright and the corners of her mouth turning up involuntarily.

Although Little Fur Ball had changed a lot since gaining sentience, she could always bring her a sense of security in times of crisis.

She just didn't know if Little Fur Ball would still be willing to stay with her after they left the Dark World. Erin looked at Wolf Fang for a while longer and sighed silently, a little worried.
