Chapter 210
Glanna had escaped, and her “werewolf” army had been abandoned. Ophelia, along with Fanny and the others, cleaned up the defective products. She reverted to her human form, her arms, shoulders, and legs covered in torn wounds. Due to excessive blood loss, her face was also extremely pale, and she looked as if she were about to faint.
Fanny walked over and handed Ophelia a bottle of Holy Water of Light, saying in a low voice, “Clan Leader Faye is up there.”
Ophelia took the Holy Water of Light but didn’t drink it. She clutched the bottle tightly, lowered her head, and followed Fanny up.
Tang Qiu and Faye were discussing the matter of the Black Witches with Vogt when she suddenly felt a scorching gaze fixed on her, making her very uncomfortable. Tang Qiu frowned and turned to look in the direction of the gaze, her eyes meeting Ophelia’s.
Ophelia hadn’t expected her to be here. A torrent of emotions erupted in her heart. Her eyes turned crimson as she stared at Tang Qiu without blinking, her hands at her sides clenched into tight fists, her body tensed into a straight line.
Tang Qiu narrowed her eyes, the curve of her lips flattening slightly.
“Ophelia,” Faye said, sensing the change in the atmosphere between the two. She glanced at Ophelia and called out her name in a warning tone.
Startled by the coldness in Faye’s voice, Ophelia hastily lowered her head and stammered an explanation, “I-I didn’t…”
She didn’t dare anymore. She didn’t dare to do that again.
Faye gave Fanny a look, and Fanny led Ophelia to the side to treat her wounds.
“Pay her no mind,” Faye said in a low voice, withdrawing her gaze from Ophelia. “I’ll have someone send her back to our territory in a moment.”
Ophelia’s mind might not be clear yet, and Faye didn’t want Tang Qiu to have to worry about her own companions while dealing with the Tzimisce Clan.
Seeing that Ophelia had quieted down after being scolded by Faye, Tang Qiu paid her no more attention. She smiled faintly and said, “This is an internal matter for your Wolf Race. Clan Leader Faye need not worry about me.”
Faye sighed in silence.
After cleaning up the group of werewolves, they still had to rush to the Oscarld Sea to rendezvous with Lucille, Delphine, and the others.
The Holy See’s troops began to prepare for withdrawal. Tang Qiu stood in mid-air, watching from a distance. During the withdrawal, a small commotion suddenly broke out in one area. Tang Qiu glanced over casually, noticed something, let out a soft “huh,” and her figure vanished from the spot.
Delia’s tense heart had only just begun to relax after Faye and the others appeared. Seeing that Ophelia was safe, she had no desire to stay any longer. Worried she would be discovered by Faye and Tang Qiu, Delia wanted to slip away while they were confronting the Black Witches.
But Tal suddenly changed his mind. He had seen Delia’s unusual behavior. Her sudden desire to leave right after Faye and Tang Qiu appeared was strange no matter how you looked at it.
Tal stubbornly refused to leave, determined to see what was going on. Afraid of being discovered, Delia could only patiently explain things to Tal and urge him to leave quickly.
Delia was quite skilled with her flowery words. Tal was half-convinced. After comparing their strength to that of the Wolf Race, Tal ultimately chose to leave for the time being.
However, as their group was retreating, a fifth-generation vampire accidentally bumped into the Holy See’s barrier, alerting the church personnel.
Hearing the commotion behind her, Delia’s heart sank. She sensed trouble and urged Tal, “Let’s go, don’t worry about him.”
She quickened her pace, but a circle of golden flames suddenly shot up in front of them, blocking their path. At the same time, a werewolf domain descended from the sky, completely cutting off their escape route.
Tang Qiu emerged from behind the golden flames, casually playing with her staff. She smiled at Delia and said gently, “We’re old acquaintances. Why not come out and catch up, Lord Delia?”
Delia stopped dead in her tracks. The expression on her face froze, and her smile was somewhat forced. “Long time no see, Grace.”
Tal extinguished the golden flames with a wave of his bone staff. He stared at Tang Qiu, moved closer to Delia, and asked in a low voice, “Who is she?”
Delia’s eyes flickered. She subtly took a step away from Tal and said in a low voice, “My… old friend.”
“What?” Tal was surprised by this answer. Just as he was about to ask for details, a sharp pain suddenly pierced his chest. He stared down in a daze as a hand emerged from his chest, a fair white palm clutching his heart. Before his eyes, it mercilessly crushed it to pieces.
Faye pushed the thoroughly dead Tal aside, then flicked the blood from her hand. She glanced at Delia, whose face had turned deathly pale, and asked with narrowed eyes, “Why are you here?”
Delia edged closer to Tang Qiu, lowered her head, and replied, “Eden sent me to follow Lucille. We were just passing through here.”
The sharp tip of the staff pressed against Delia’s chest. Tang Qiu looked her up and down, raising an eyebrow. “You sold out me and Lucille. So, how deeply have you infiltrated the Tzimisce Clan?”
The pure power of light from the staff brought a trace of pain to Delia’s face. She raised a hand to grab the staff and looked directly into Tang Qiu’s eyes, saying word by word, “The Oscarld Sea. They’ve been hiding there all along. I’m not lying to you.”
“If I didn’t tell Eden about Lucille, he would never have trusted me. How else could I find their hiding place?” Delia’s tone was urgent. “But I didn’t sell you out.”
“Your werewolf identity, your position in the Holy See, I told him none of it.”
“Tell me their exact location in the Oscarld Sea,” Tang Qiu said calmly, retracting her staff. “Don’t try any funny business. Clan Leader Faye isn’t as good-tempered as I am.”
Delia noticed they didn’t seem surprised about the Oscarld Sea. She lowered her gaze, her heart conflicted for a moment, but she still answered honestly, “At the bottom of the sea. The Tzimisce Clan is hiding at the bottom of the sea.”
It was at the bottom of the sea. Tang Qiu and Faye exchanged a surprised look. Faye wiped her hand clean with a handkerchief, then gestured with her chin to the werewolves behind her and ordered, “Tie her up. Take her to the Oscarld Sea.” After a pause, she added with a cold smile, “Keep her away from the others. She’s full of sweet talk; who knows what lies she’ll spin to trick someone.”
Witch City.
Glanna fled back to Witch City. Although she was unharmed, she had lost a third of her meticulously prepared werewolf army in an instant, which enraged her more than any injury could have.
The Andersons did not accept failure. With a grim face, Glanna dissected several sacrifices with a small knife until the anger in her heart finally dissipated. She casually wiped a bead of blood from her face, tossed the knife aside, and walked out of the stone chamber.
Her red robe was soaked in blood, leaving streaks on the ground. A red-robed witch approached and whispered something in her ear. Glanna frowned, took out her bone staff, and summoned a skeleton to ride.
Noah stood on the dilapidated city wall of Witch City, staring blankly at the overcast sky. One of her hands was hidden within her robe, while the other clutched a key-shaped stone that emanated a faint dark aura.
Glanna sat on the skeleton, staring up at Noah on the wall for a while. Only when Noah noticed her arrival did she speak. “What did you want to see me about?”
“I heard you were chased back by the werewolves.” Noah looked down and smiled at Glanna. “How embarrassing.”
Glanna pursed her lips but said nothing.
Noah leaped down from the wall, and a wisp of black energy caught her, allowing her to land steadily. “I’m taking you somewhere.”
“I’m not interested in any Dark God,” Glanna said, her interest piqued. “If you’re just going to preach your theories at me again, you’d better just leave me in peace.”
For the first time, Noah didn’t lose her temper at Glanna’s tone when mentioning the Dark God. She put away the Dark Key in her hand and grabbed Glanna’s wrist. “Let’s go.”
Without giving Glanna a chance to object, a teleportation array materialized beneath their feet and transported them away.
The destination was a remote town called Dekava in the Shas Principality. Because the corruption of darkness was so severe in the Shas Principality, Dekava had long been abandoned.
Monsters roamed nearby, but they all kept their distance when they saw Noah and Glanna.
Noah led Glanna to a forest. In the center of the forest were dense dark wards, guarded by red-robed Garcia witches.
Seeing this arrangement, Glanna knew that whatever was here was extremely important to the Garcia family. She looked around and noticed that the dark aura was particularly thick. She frowned and asked, “What is this place?”
“This is the resting place of the Dark God,” Noah said with a devout expression. She opened the wards and led Glanna inside.
“This is…” Glanna’s eyes narrowed as she saw the dark formation before her. She said thoughtfully, “A formation to summon the Dark God?”
This formation was one that Erin had researched in the forbidden land. Glanna had looked into it but hadn’t seen anything special and had always been skeptical of its authenticity.
As far as she knew, the young Garcia witches Laurel and Vera had once used this summoning formation, but they hadn’t summoned anything.
Of course, it was possible that the young witches were simply too weak.
“This is where the Dark God of the Garcia family slumbers.” Noah crouched down, stroking the earth beneath her feet. Her voice was low. “I’m about to succeed, Glanna. The Dark God will soon descend.”
Glanna crossed her arms and looked down at her for a moment before saying impatiently, “So? Why are you telling me this?”
She didn’t care about any Dark God. She had no interest in such things at all.
Glanna turned coldly to leave, but Noah called out to stop her. Her tone was calm, yet it carried a faint hint of reluctance. “I brought you here to say goodbye.”
Glanna’s footsteps halted.
“I’ve already asked the Morgan Family to help take care of our young Garcia witches.”
“Actually, I thought about asking you, but I was afraid you wouldn’t take good care of them. If I hadn’t looked after Erin for you, she probably would have died long ago.”
Because it was a farewell, Noah found herself talking more than usual. “Erin is a good kid. Since she doesn’t want to stay by your side, you should just let her go.”
“She… she’s a bit strange… it’s best to be careful.” Thinking of the forbidden land and the other Dark Key, Noah felt that Erin had too many secrets.
Glanna listened quietly, glanced at Noah, but said nothing and turned to leave.
Noah watched her back and sighed silently. She looked down, tracing the carved lines of the formation, and the loneliness in her eyes was slowly replaced by devotion.
