Chapter 38

A pot of noodles cooked in an iron pot, each of the six people could only get a small bowl.

Whether it was because the Alliance code was too perfect, or the psychological suggestion of the few people was too strong, eating a bowl of noodles made them feel warm all over, and even the fatigue parameters previously set on them by the system felt significantly reduced.

White clouds drifted by, and across a mountain range, the sounds of other contestants fighting and roaring could be heard.

When they were halfway through eating, Kai Yun's bowl was the first to be empty. She patted her head, rummaged through her bag, pulled out a few packets of pickled vegetables, and threw them to the others.

"Wow~" Lei Kaiding exclaimed, "You're so extravagant!"

Ye Sa looked at his bowl with only a little noodle soup left at the bottom, feeling a bit regretful and melancholic. He tore open the packaging and ate the pickled vegetables, sipping the soup.

To be honest, it was a bit salty.

Ye Sa hesitated for a long time, just about to say that if they teamed up again next time, he could help her bring an extra pot, when he turned his head and found Kai Yun was gone.

He immediately looked around and found Kai Yun had gone to the roadside, pulling a white cloth and hanging it between two trees. It still read:

"Recruiting Citizens - Rebuild Rebuilt Barren Star!"

The large characters were directly facing Lu Que's direction, clearly implying something.

Lu Que raised his head, looked at the cloth for a while, then lowered his gaze.

Ye Sa was also from Rebuilt Barren Star, but he hadn't joined the Alliance, so he couldn't be considered a true Planet Inheritor. He looked at the words on the cloth with a slight daze, quickly adjusted, and put down his bowl.

Just then, Xue Chengwu spoke up: "Let's log off."

Both Lu Que and he were in a state of severe injury and couldn't continue to stay in the arena to earn points, especially Lu Que, whose internal energy had been completely depleted just now and needed to log off for examination and medical treatment.

Xue Chengwu's gaze swept over the faces of the others: "Then for the rest... we'll trouble you?"

The others nodded indifferently.

Although the team had gone through a major battle, their kill points weren't enough yet. To advance, the four of them still had to work hard in the second half.

Xue Chengwu cupped his fists and said, "Thanks."

The two said goodbye to their teammates and chose to log out of the system.

The heavy simulation cabin door slid open to the sides, and Lu Que walked out.

His foot landed on the stone tiles laid out in the arena, his body swayed, and he grabbed the cabin door to barely stand steady. His leg muscles trembled uncontrollably, clearly a side effect of exhaustion. He raised his hand and punched it with an unhappy expression, very dissatisfied with his current weakness.

Immediately, a crowd surrounded him, their tall figures blocking the light in front of him, and even the air he breathed became stuffy due to the density. Lu Que raised his head, his pale face combined with his cold expression appearing even more sinister.

The dean of the Individual Combat Department was about to speak but choked when he met his gaze. He had a strong premonition that this young man in front of him wouldn't give him face, so he turned his head and impatiently shooed away the faculty and staff on both sides:

"What are you doing? Step back! Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to wander inside the arena. Be careful the organizing committee complains that our Alliance University arena doesn't comply with the rules. Quickly, disperse, disperse!"

The counselor said: "Dean, outside are all those media..."

The dean said: "What media? What does that have to do with us? For the university, students are naturally the most important! Didn't you see that student Lu Que just finished the competition and doesn't want to talk right now? Accepting interviews at a time like this is simply too inconsiderate!"

The counselor's head snapped up, and he quickly followed: "Yes, since student Lu Que isn't feeling well, our medical team is waiting outside. How about we go for a check-up first?"

"Of course, that's necessary." The dean nodded, saying to Lu Que kindly yet with authority: "Student Lu Que, you go with your counselor for a check-up first, then rest well. Don't worry about anything else. You worked hard in this competition."

Lu Que: "..."

Did he look like someone who was easily fooled?

The dean turned around and gave the counselor a look, signaling that this important task was entrusted to him, and he must find out the origin of that internal energy cultivation method.

The counselor received the signal and smiled bitterly.

Getting paid is so hard these days.

The dean was afraid his presence would make Lu Que wary, so he immediately took the surrounding crowd of coaches and professors who had come to watch the excitement and retreated to the wall to wait. The medical team members came forward, surrounded Lu Que, and quickly headed to the examination room.

Lu Que was very cooperative with the examination, and the final results were similar to what everyone expected. His internal energy was stable, and all data was normal. There were slight injuries remaining in his meridians caused by the intense activity of his internal energy.

The infirmary treated him according to normal procedures and gave him a private room to lie down and rest first. Then they threw the report out for the group of people to analyze themselves.

The counselor specifically went to buy lunch and carefully brought it to Lu Que.

He had thought of several opening lines on the way, and the more he thought, the more he felt a bit guilty.

Alliance University agreeing to disqualify Lu Que from the tournament was almost like tearing off all pretense. And Lu Que's daily life at Alliance University was definitely not pleasant, lacking much care and understanding. Of course, this wasn't entirely Alliance University's fault, but it was something that happened at the school after all. If it were him, he would definitely feel resentful about it.

Coupled with his usual impression of Lu Que's gloomy demeanor, he subconsciously thought the other party would use this to threaten and attack.

The counselor tugged at his clothes corner and said, "Student Lu Que, about daily life..."

"Stop beating around the bush." Lu Que's head ached hearing that opening. He leaned back impatiently and said, "I don't have time to play tai chi with you here, and watching your fake performance isn't interesting at all. Just say what you need to say, then leave."

The counselor was stunned for a moment, then simply asked: "I want to ask where you learned your internal energy cultivation method? Why can it control the berserk state? Have you experimented with it before? Is the success rate high?"

Lu Que answered uniformly: "Don't know. Qin Linshan taught me."

"Qin Linshan?!" The counselor exclaimed, "How do you know Qin Linshan?"

Qin Linshan was a member of the Alliance Military, had little connection with their Alliance University, and had become someone who was rarely seen years ago, only occasionally appearing on planet rescue mission lists. The officials had tried to recruit him several times, but he ignored them.

It was said that he had recently retired and was living a carefree life in some small place. Could he have returned to the capital star?

Lu Que looked at him sideways with a poker face.

The counselor quickly asked again: "Do you know the origin of that cultivation method?"

"Don't know." Lu Que didn't wait for him to ask and said first: "The cultivation method he taught me, without his permission, I cannot tell you."

The counselor nodded and said: "I understand. After all, this might be a secret of their Alliance Military, or Qin Linshan's accumulated knowledge over the years..."

After saying that, he buried his head and went out for a trip. Within a few minutes, he came back, walking with his legs clamped together, looking very stressed. He plopped down opposite him and asked kindly: "Then, do you have Qin Linshan's contact information?"

Lu Que looked at him with suspicion.

"Don't be like this, okay!" The counselor said, sweating profusely, "How could we possibly do anything to him?!" Qin Linshan was a devil!

Lu Que said seriously: "You could annoy him to death."

The counselor almost cried. Was he that annoying?

Lu Que still took out his optical computer and composed a message.

He thought for a moment and added a respectful address before sending it.

"Senior Qin. Alliance University wants your contact information."

Lu Que hadn't used such careful wording in a long time.

The other side replied quickly with a simple word: "Oh."

Lu Que then sent the optical computer number to the counselor. The counselor held it like a treasure and went out, handing it to the other coaches, telling them to contact Qin Linshan.

On the other side, Qin Linshan also happily sent the address of the bar.

With this opportunity to make money while lying down, he was overjoyed. Lu Que was truly a perfect spokesperson.

He wasn't running a false advertisement; he didn't say anything, the other party came looking for him!

While waiting for the representatives from several universities to arrive, Qin Linshan continued to watch the competition.

The people who were previously gathered behind him had now all gone to search for some "anti-berserk cultivation method." Around him, there were constant complaints about why the media was so slow this time, and how Lu Que had been offline for so long, yet his cultivation method still hadn't been dug up.

Decadent.

Qin Linshan raised his hand, ordered a drink, and sat leisurely.

"This little devil." Qin Linshan scoffed, "Isn't he quite resourceful?"

In the arena, after some internal fighting, many teams had been scattered. To maintain an advantage, students from different teams voluntarily united to resist external enemies and simultaneously harvest points.

Kai Yun was targeting these people.

Their team, starting from the initial fork in the middle path, slowly moved outwards, then pursued forward all the way. This was already the third relatively large group they had encountered on the road.

The few of them stopped, and Kai Yun turned back and waved: "My dear friend!"

Jiang Tu consciously said: "Time for the ultimate move, right?"

Kai Yun: "Right, right!"

Commentator: "Okay, now a new team has appeared in Jiang Tu's line of sight. This should be their new target. They seem to be using the same strategy again, and of course, this strategy is always effective."

Their team had a total of four people left, which was not advantageous compared to the opponent's group of over ten. To resolve it quickly, they still needed some strategy.

First, send Jiang Tu out to use his ultimate move, then send Lei Kaiding out to scare them. At this point, they could clearly see from the opponent's positioning and coordination which ones were fixed teams that had practiced together and which ones were temporary allies.

Kai Yun and Ye Sa hid in the shadows, quietly observing, decided on the 'sheep' to fleece, and charged out together, raising their weapons.
