Princess Syndrome - Chapter 36
Chapter 36: Stiffened
The overthinking from the whole night caused her to have one bizarre dream after another. She dreamt that Ji Zhiyi was strangling her neck, saying, "Don't think that I don’t hate you anymore. I just want to lower your guard and dig a hole for you! I’m going to bury you!"
Then she dreamt that Ji Zhiyi had grabbed her hand, leaned close, and said, "Feed me some water."
She also dreamt that Ji Zhiyi was looking down at her and saying, "Classmate Su, who’s the beggar now?"
She woke up with a start.
She glanced at the time. It was still early. Her alarm hadn't even gone off yet. She couldn't fall back asleep, so she got up and first checked the cat’s food and water on the balcony. Then she played the role of poop-scooper, and finally, pinching her nose, sorted the trash bags and placed them outside the door. When she had first started doing all this, she couldn't stand the smell.
The cat, seeing that she was awake so early, was full of energy. It followed her around, now going into the room, now onto the balcony. Sometimes, it would stretch out its paw, wanting to hug her leg. Su Lingyue, seeing that it was treating her as a toy, couldn't bring out a real toy to play with it.
Ji Zhiyi was still asleep.
She didn't want to wake her up.
She could only let the cat use her as a cat tree. To stop the cat from falling, she supported its butt, holding it in one hand as she went back into her room to look at her phone. The sky was gradually brightening. She went into the bathroom and came out feeling much more awake.
She had mostly forgotten about the dreams from last night.
But when she saw Ji Zhiyi's face, the memories that she had just suppressed charged back, like a wild horse.
She could even hear Ji Zhiyi’s voice in her dream: "I’m going to bury you."
Su Lingyue felt a bit cold. She suddenly wondered if she had drunk some alcohol last night, and that was why her mind wasn't clear. Why else would she have agreed to Ji Zhiyi's conditions so casually?
What if that processing plant wasn’t a trap for Su Qi?
But a trap for her?
Su Lingyue's heart began to pound. She saw Ji Zhiyi go to the bathroom, so she followed her, leaning against the door. Ji Zhiyi was just about to close it when she saw a face and turned white with fright, asking, "What are you doing in the morning?"
"Nothing." Su Lingyue asked, "Seeing if President Ji needs any help."
Help with what?
Squatting at the bathroom door, what was she helping with?
Help her wipe her butt?
Ji Zhiyi was confused: "No, thank you."
Su Lingyue gave an "oh," her expression a bit down. Ji Zhiyi really didn't know what she was thinking, so she said, "The housekeeper will be here soon to deliver breakfast, can you open the door?"
Su Lingyue gave another "oh."
Ji Zhiyi, seeing that she hadn't left, looked up at her. Su Lingyue quietly left the bathroom door.
Looking at her back, Ji Zhiyi pondered for a few seconds and then started washing up.
Su Lingyue sat on the sofa, her mind torn.
One voice was saying:
Ji Zhiyi doesn't want revenge on you. That suggestion was only something that you had requested last night. Besides, Ji Zhiyi had already revealed her plan. She hadn't hidden anything. People can’t always just think about the benefits while being unwilling to make sacrifices.
Another voice was saying:
Ji Zhiyi's mind is too meticulous.
What if she had some evil scheme?
Then you would be lost forever.
Trust and distrust were pulling at her heart.
When Ji Zhiyi came out of the bathroom, Su Lingyue was frowning, her delicate face tense as if she was considering some important plan.
She stated, "What? Did you get scared after sleeping?"
Su Lingyue turned her head when she heard the voice. Ji Zhiyi was standing behind her, wearing a white shirt. It was slightly loose with two buttons undone, revealing her smooth, delicate collarbone. Her neckline was very beautiful, especially when her head was slightly tilted, the line was smooth, as if it had been carved, each and every inch perfect.
Everyone said her face was beautiful.
But her neck was truly beautiful.
Su Lingyue was speechless at herself.
She had seen people who were obsessed with hands and feet, but she had never seen someone obsessed with necks.
She came back to her senses and said, "Who's scared?"
She was really stubborn.
Ji Zhiyi didn't expose her. She nodded: "It's okay if you're scared. You can withdraw at any time. Of course, if you want to bring Su Qi down, there's only this one opportunity."
Su Lingyue bit her lip.
She was silent for two seconds: "Can it bring down Su Qi?"
Ji Zhiyi replied decisively, "Yes."
Her attitude was firm and without any hesitation.
Su Lingyue suddenly thought about what Ji Zhiyi had said last night, that she trusted her.
Her voice was a bit lower, "Can I trust you?"
Ji Zhiyi walked two steps forward and stood behind the sofa. Su Lingyue watched as she slowly approached. The sunlight fell on her brows and eyes. Ji Zhiyi said, "Look at me."
Su Lingyue examined her carefully.
Although they had only been together for a short while, she found her face to be incomparably familiar. She could trace her outline even with her eyes closed.
Ji Zhiyi said, "Ask yourself, do you trust me?"
Su Lingyue’s heart spoke up.
It was as if the words had blurted out.
She did.
Even if Ji Zhiyi had dug a large pit for her, one large enough to bury herself, she believed it in that moment.
Su Lingyue nodded.
Ji Zhiyi’s expression softened: "Let's eat breakfast."
Su Lingyue sat across from her. Ji Zhiyi thoughtfully poured her a glass of milk. She saw that Su Lingyue was eating slowly and didn't say anything, just watching Su Lingyue battle with herself.
She found it interesting.
She pursed her lips and smiled.
After breakfast, Su Lingyue cleaned up after the cat, and set out its food and water. The cat was reluctant for them to leave and followed them to the door. It had a longing look in its eyes. Su Lingyue couldn’t help but hold it and give it a kiss before reluctantly putting it down.
Before getting into the car, Ji Zhiyi said, "Wait a minute."
Su Lingyue looked at her. Ji Zhiyi walked directly to her and lowered her head to remove a cat hair from her collar. They were very close. Su Lingyue didn’t understand why she needed to be so close just to remove a cat hair. All she could smell was the faint scent of Ji Zhiyi's perfume.
Was she nearsighted?
Should she get even closer?
Su Lingyue’s ears turned red. She asked, "Is there anything else?"
Ji Zhiyi said calmly, "No."
Su Lingyue gave an "oh."
Before getting into the car, she glanced at Ji Zhiyi but didn’t say anything.
The two of them didn't speak much at the company. Su Lingyue was organizing the contract and had made an appointment to meet with Yang Zhizhi at ten o'clock. Just as the people in the office had arrived, Zhang Xian came in. Su Lingyue, thinking about what Ji Zhiyi had said last night, also looked at the office. The blinds weren't closed. From her angle, she could see Ji Zhiyi talking with Zhang Xian. Zhang Xian was standing with her back to her and walked towards Ji Zhiyi. As they talked, they sat on the sofa.
Su Lingyue hadn't yet looked away when Ji Zhiyi looked out.
Seeing that she was looking inside, Ji Zhiyi waved at her.
It was that summoning gesture again.
Su Lingyue bit her lip, wanting to pretend that she hadn’t seen it, but her body was honest and had already taken the first step to walk towards the office door. The people in the secretary's office were used to it. Anyway, Su Lingyue spent eighty percent of her time in Ji Zhiyi's office.
Some said that she made her kneel to organize the documents, some said she went in to pour tea and water, and some said she was often beaten and scolded. But every time she went in, the blinds would be closed. That was a kind of proof.
They also heard that she had taken Su Lingyue to ‘please’ Yang Zhizhi again last night.
Pitiful.
The gazes that the others gave Su Lingyue were now full of pity. They had originally wanted to use Su Lingyue to curry favor with President Ji, but thinking about how pitiful she now was, they couldn’t bear to do it. So they were being nicer to her.
Some even asked proactively, "Assistant Su, President Ji wants you again?"
Their tone was full of sympathy. Su Lingyue immediately remembered the persona of someone being bullied by Ji Zhiyi. She nodded, showing a pained expression, wanting to say something, but stopped herself.
Her colleague was about to say something when Su Lingyue, knowing that her acting skills weren't good, turned and went into the office.
The other secretaries, "So pitiful."
Zhang Ting nodded: "She doesn't even have time to say another word."
Su Lingyue, after entering the office, walked to Ji Zhiyi. Zhang Xian had also turned her head. Although she couldn’t understand why Ji Zhiyi had called Su Lingyue in, she patiently listened to what Ji Zhiyi had to say. "This afternoon, you go to the new processing plant. Take her with you and tell her everything in detail."
Zhang Xian didn't react: "Huh?"
She was confused: "Who? Assistant Su?"
Wasn’t this part of Ji Zhiyi's core plan? Tell Su Lingyue? And take her with them? What was she trying to do?
Zhang Xian was completely baffled.
Ji Zhiyi didn't explain, and instead said, "Starting today, Assistant Su will officially start working at the processing plant."
Zhang Xian looked at Su Lingyue, confused: "Are you saying that this afternoon when I go to the processing plant, I’m bringing her along?"
She blinked: "Are you sure?"
Ji Zhiyi knew what she was thinking: "I'm sure. By the way, bring all the contract documents from the processing plant."
Zhang Xian scratched her brow.
Ji Zhiyi looked up: "Any problems?"
Zhang Xian said, "Of course, I don't have any problems."
But she looked at Su Lingyue.
What was this about?
She was so confused.
Ji Zhiyi said, "You go organize the contracts first and then give them to me later."
Zhang Xian couldn't ask anything, so she could only do as she was told. She nodded: "Okay, then I'll go out first."
When there was no one around, she would ask Su Lingyue.
She thought.
Seeing Zhang Xian walk out, Su Lingyue asked, "President Ji, do you want to explain it to Director Zhang?"
Ji Zhiyi didn't really care and said as she looked at Su Lingyue, "Whatever you want."
"Whatever you want" means "no".
Su Lingyue nodded: "Understood."
Ji Zhiyi looked at her and heard her say, "I've finished organizing the contract with Yang Zhizhi, I’ll go over there soon."
"Regarding her," Ji Zhiyi said, "Be careful."
Su Lingyue nodded.
Ji Zhiyi then said, "Don't get too close."
Su Lingyue forced a smile.
It was as if she could get close to Yang Zhizhi. If it wasn’t because of Yilin and money, Yang Zhizhi probably wouldn't even look at her.
Even then.
She was still respectful: "Okay, President Ji."
Her voice was so obedient that it was almost cloying. Ji Zhiyi looked up at her. Su Lingyue stood in front of her, her smile not reaching her eyes, her expression calm. Perhaps she had been staring for too long. Su Lingyue asked, "What’s wrong?"
Ji Zhiyi casually made an excuse, "You have cat hair in your hair."
Su Lingyue instinctively reached up and touched the top of her head. Ji Zhiyi, seeing that, stood up. She stood in front of her and reached out as if she wanted to help her remove it. There was a noise at the door. Zhang Ting knocked, "President Ji."
Ji Zhiyi said, "Come in."
Zhang Ting walked in. She saw Ji Zhiyi and Su Lingyue standing face to face. Her hand was even reaching out as if she was about to put it on Su Lingyue’s head.
What were those two doing?
She paused.
Su Lingyue glanced at her, then glanced at Ji Zhiyi. She immediately realized what she was supposed to do and grabbed Ji Zhiyi's hand, holding it tightly. She lowered her head and said softly, "President Ji, it’s all my fault. You can hit me or scold me. As long as you can vent your anger, I’ll do anything!"
The hand that Ji Zhiyi had reached out stiffened.
Her expression also stiffened.
Could this person watch fewer dramas?
🤣🤣🤣
