Mutants - Chapter 23

Chapter 23: Relationships

In the mountain corridor outside the interrogation room, Chen Mo was calculating: his previous judgment had been wrong. This little weakling would bare her fangs the moment she was in danger, and she was indeed quite intelligent and talented, adept at reading people to secure her own survival.

Now, if he wanted to achieve his goal, it would probably be very difficult. He would have to put in more effort.

This prisoner was harder to deal with than those who were physically strong or had strong willpower.

Waka must be in a bind right now. He didn't dare to make a move, nor did he have the brains to pry her mouth open. Frustrated and out of options, he wouldn't want to lose to Sol's people, and with no capable individuals on hand, he would definitely come looking for him.

When that time came, he would have his chance.

Chen Mo calculated this, silently predicting when Waka would come to find him.

Half an hour? An hour? Or…

Bang!

The door to the interrogation room across the hall suddenly opened.

Waka ran out excitedly.

Chen Mo was stunned, then a little confused: it seemed like she had been in there for less than two minutes.

Although Waka wasn't very bright, he couldn't be this useless, could he?

However, it was good that he could come find him.

Chen Mo pretended to be nonchalantly standing there, looking at the refugee camp, as if he were watching over the organization's safety with the eyes of a hawk, paying no mind to Waka.

And then… Waka walked past him… walked past… just like that.

Chen Mo: "???"

Then he heard Waka excitedly run to the main hall to find Moss, the founder of the Red Eye Organization.

He said he had already obtained very valuable intelligence.

"She said she is indeed a Mutant, but the specifics of her Mutant Abilities can only be revealed in your presence. Otherwise, she's very likely to lose her life."

Moss, who was talking with Sol, looked up, and Sol also raised an eyebrow.

Sui Xin was quickly brought out of the interrogation room.

Moss wasn't the only one in the main hall. They were also worried that this strange survivor might be a Mutant with a hidden killing move, so they naturally needed people for defense.

Here, Sui Xin saw a robust old man sitting high up on a heavy stone throne. His hair was sparse, but his features were rugged and cold. His tall frame seemed to merge with the stone throne. After all, he had been the boss for over twenty years—ruthless, battle-hardened, and possessed of both authority and power.

Standing on either side of him were Sol and another slender, middle-aged man. The latter had two guns hanging from his waist. Compared to the wasteland-style attire of most of the crude men in this organization, he was more particular, with a style that seemed like a cowboy's. But his belt was strange, as if it were made of interlocking teeth.

Human teeth.

Further down were Waka, Chen Mo, and another chubby man with rat-like eyes.

After Sui Xin was brought here and the main door was closed, she was trapped among the most ferocious and cruel men in the ruins zone—as a prisoner.

She showed a posture that was somewhat timid but trying hard to hold on. She looked at Moss, unsure of how to begin.

Moss narrowed his eyes and said slowly, "Speak. What is your ability, and why did you say what you did before?"

Sui Xin touched her throat, only then realizing she was in shackles. The shackles stank of blood. So she lowered her hand again and said slowly, "My ability isn't combat-related."

This made the dark light in Moss's eyes deepen.

Her value had decreased.

Combat and offensive abilities were what they sought.

From the moment she finished her first sentence, Sui Xin had been observing the changes in everyone's expressions. Moss's reaction was obvious because he didn't need to pretend. After all, he was the boss, with so many people protecting him. Even if she had an ability, given that she hadn't been able to resist while being brought in, she clearly didn't possess overwhelming combat power—this was also why they hadn't treated her gunshot wound yet.

But the words she had deliberately spoken at the gate had had some effect.

In this world, life was cheap, but value was highly regarded.

To avoid torture and hardship, she had declared her value in advance. Although this was different from her previously weak demeanor and might seem suspicious to someone like Chen Mo who knew a bit about her, it was a normal reaction, wasn't it?

As a prisoner about to be tortured by desperate outlaws, trying to act weak and innocent was tantamount to seeking death. Moreover, she knew very well that if she were seriously injured, not to mention that she was indeed a Mutant and might expose some recovery ability or self-preservation reflex, even if she had no such follow-up abilities (and it seemed she didn't; look at the gunshot wound on her shoulder, it hurt like hell, and she felt it was getting infected. This mutation hadn't given her the superhuman constitution described in novels; the most outrageous thing was waking up with all her wounds completely healed)… but this phenomenon would also tell the Red Eye Organization that she had no value. The final outcome might be being abused and killed by this group of thugs, losing both her life and her dignity.

Therefore, when facing death, doing everything possible to save oneself was the only true path.

Of course, she had been thinking about countermeasures along the way. Right now, she was just cautiously putting them into practice.

Moss's reaction was, of course, the most important, followed by Sol and the others.

Regarding this Sol, Sui Xin paid attention to him not because of his appearance, nor because he looked nothing like Moss and Waka, but because of the feeling he gave off… Sui Xin noticed that when she said her first sentence, his hand had clasped the scabbard of the Tomahawk revolver knife at his waist.

This type of knife had been used by Zhou Xingxing. Not many people used it because the metal it was made of had a high density. It looked thin and light, but it was actually very heavy. For combat, holding it for a long time put a significant strain on the wrist. If he wasn't highly skilled in martial arts and physically strong, he wouldn't choose this kind of knife.

Just like Zhou Xingxing, who was a near-Adept.

So this young man, who looked even younger than Zhou Xingxing, could he also have the combat power of an Adept?

But that cowboy uncle with the tooth-bone belt was definitely very strong.

Sui Xin lowered her gaze. Facing Moss's increasingly sharp stare, before any of them could ask a question and take control, she continued, "But I do have an ability, and it's quite special. In fact, if you hadn't given me a heads-up at the gate, I wouldn't have even known I had this thing. I thought I was going crazy."

She wanted to say more, but was suddenly interrupted by Chen Mo, who said faintly, "Don't talk about that for now. Tell us how you survived."

Chen Mo was suspicious, and Moss clearly was too, otherwise he wouldn't have let Chen Mo conduct the on-site interrogation.

Sui Xin's rhythm was broken. She adjusted her breathing and said, "After Ye Chen and I reached the Gobi region, the GPS malfunctioned, and then your attack happened…"

She didn't fall for the trap, cautiously starting her story from when they entered the Deep Red Gobi region, not from when she was shot by Ye Chen. She had to maintain the state of "not knowing about the live broadcast, not having participated in many of the subsequent events, and being ignorant all along…"

If she had directly mentioned what happened after she was shot in the pharmacy, Chen Mo and the others would have deduced that she knew about the live broadcast, thinking that they didn't need to know the backstory and only needed to hear what happened during the period when the broadcast from her perspective was interrupted.

This would prove that there was something wrong with her.

Chen Mo's question was very cunning—how did you survive?

Did he ask about Ye Chen killing her? No, he asked how she survived this mission.

Chen Mo's eyes flickered, but he didn't interrupt her or ask her to get to the point, even though everyone present knew what happened next better than she did. A live broadcast, after all, was like having a god's-eye view.

Fortunately, this analyst had professional training. She wasn't long-winded, but concise and to the point. She mentioned the Red Corrosive Ironworms, the poison taking effect, and… until she was shot by Ye Chen.

"I was shot then, and I knew I was done for. I didn't understand why he wanted to kill me. I knew there was a rift with these frontline personnel, that they didn't like me much, but given my own value, I should have been of some use to this operation. How could he kill me so decisively? Now I understand. He's a veteran of the front lines, and he probably knew better than I did how strange and dangerous this mission was. He and Jenny and the others were already prepared to defect. To prevent me from reporting them or affecting his leadership, he decided to kill me. Begging him to spare my life was useless, especially since after I was shot and fell, I saw that he didn't even save Jenny… Fortunately, I wasn't hit in the heart. In my weakened state, I noticed that those worms didn't crawl over. That's when I realized the medicinal herbs under me might have an effect on them, so I kept hiding there. But later, I passed out from blood loss."

"When I woke up—it was because of the explosion outside."

"The noise was too loud, it startled me awake. After leaving the pharmacy, I found that the self-destruct had been activated… In my panic, I remembered the canteen's water reservoir… but I didn't expect to pass out shortly after jumping in."

She had left her clothes and helmet in the pharmacy from the beginning as a way out for herself.

In the worst-case scenario, if the identity of Xiao Tiantian couldn't escape, and her real body couldn't get away either, then she could only survive as Sui Xin.

Seriously injured and unconscious, rescued, survived, and knowing nothing else.

Of course, there was actually no need to create such a story for Red Eye. She was mainly laying the groundwork for Tianxi Group's future investigation.

As for her statement, since there was no concrete evidence to prove it false, nor could they prove that she had appeared outside and was one of the people who had mutated during the earlier live broadcast… anyway, even if she was Xiao Tiantian, her height, clothes, and helmet didn't match, and most importantly, her combat ability didn't match.

The Red Eye Organization wasn't Tianxi Group. They didn't need to get to the bottom of everything. After all, their members were all desperate outlaws. Who didn't have a past? If they investigated everyone's background, they might as well switch to being a detective agency.

Their focus was still on the value of this prisoner herself.

"So, what exactly is your ability?" Sol's tone was cool, his eyes sharp with arrogance.

He saw this thin woman, whose skin was so pale it seemed to have no blood, lowering her head, her fingers seeming to unconsciously twist her sleeves. Because she was so thin, the shackles looked like they could snap her wrists.

She said, "I can see lines on you, lines of light, and they're connected to each other."

Any practical ability couldn't be exposed, otherwise the other party would be on guard. This ability was a bit safer.

Them: "???"

Everyone, including Moss, was stunned for a moment.

What the hell.

Chen Mo was thoughtful. "Energy lines? Do they represent the energy in our bodies?"

Sui Xin was embarrassed. "I thought so at first too, until I tested it at the main gate and found… well… actually, I'm not too sure either."

Her hesitant way of speaking was both irritating and thought-provoking.

However, when she mentioned what happened at the main gate, Sol's expression suddenly turned cold, while Chen Mo was stunned, somewhat in disbelief.

Moss, on the other hand, narrowed his eyes, his calloused fingers stroking the armrest. He said faintly, "You mean you can see other people's relationships?"

Sol frowned but said nothing.

Waka didn't quite understand at first, but now he suddenly got it. "Ah, Second Brother has a connection with Zhang Kun. You saw it, so you guessed that Zhang Kun was deliberately targeting you to mess with me. I was wondering how you knew so much as soon as you got here…"

Chen Mo had also initially thought she was just that smart and perceptive. Now it seemed she had an ability to help her.

This kind of ability was too incredible. What was the principle behind it?

But it was also possible she was just making it up.

Either she had no ability, or she was hiding her real one.

Moss wasn't fully convinced either. He just said slowly, "Then tell me what the so-called relationship lines of the six people here look like."

With that one sentence, the expressions of the other five people became subtle. Even the cool cowboy raised an eyebrow, glancing at Sui Xin with a detached air.

To be honest, they were all considered high-level members of Red Eye. The internal relationships were definitely complex. Without this so-called relationship network ability, it would be impossible for this woman, a newcomer, to figure out the truth with just a little cleverness.

If she really had such a miraculous ability, although it wasn't a combat-type ability, for someone in power, it was actually more useful than a combat one.

In chaotic times, many big shots often died not at the hands of external enemies, but at the hands of traitors from within.

A boss like Moss, who controlled a wilderness organization, was definitely afraid of being overthrown by his subordinates, so…

Sui Xin became very nervous and said cautiously, "Can they leave? Or can they put on headphones and cover their ears?"

What did that mean?

Who was she implying?

Sol's jaw tightened, his slender, delicate fingers once again stroking the hilt of his knife.

The fat man even took out a handkerchief and kept wiping the sweat from his forehead.

No, how could this woman have such a deranged ability?

How were they supposed to live?

Waka: "I don't need to. I am completely loyal to Father, without a second thought. You can just say it."

This made the others even more awkward.

Sol said slowly, "Third Brother, what's the rush? Are we not loyal?"

He had already taken out his headphones.

The cowboy was also about to cover his ears, but Moss said, "Triple-Gun, you don't have to."

The cowboy nodded and didn't continue, but he looked at Sui Xin, his fingers stroking the trigger of the gun at his waist.

The atmosphere was tense for a moment, as if everyone's life and death were hanging in the balance.

Until Sui Xin's throat seemed to dry up, and she said, "That handsome little brother, the lines on him are connected to that fat man and Chen Mo."

Because she could see that the fat man was in charge of the logistics of this base, including the supervision of the refugees—his shoes were very thick rubber-soled shoes, like they had height-increasing insoles, and were wrapped in a thin layer of metal. This was to insulate him from the large amount of corrosive water in the refugee camp. The material of his clothes was also waterproof, preventing liquids from sticking. He also had a mask hanging around his neck, indicating that he was always on guard against anything dirty splashing on him.

There were too many corpses in the refugee camp, and a lot of germs. He took precautions to protect himself, which was reflected in his attire.

He was also wearing gloves.

Of course, one could also guess that he was a germaphobe. However, a germaphobe would have a lot of hair and dandruff, which meant he wasn't actually very clean.

And the position of logistics manager was very important. Since he was in charge of the refugee camp, it meant he was also responsible for feeding the Sahr Hyenas. The Sahr Hyenas were a major weapon of the Red Eye Organization, so this person was naturally not a minor figure.

As for his relationship with Sol… Sui Xin thought of the guards at the main gate, including the bearded man. Before he got up and walked towards her to cause trouble, he was sitting on a chair eating meat and handing the bones into the cage to feed the Sahr Hyena.

There was nothing wrong with that, the problem was that the gaps in the cage were very large, and his fingers went inside. He wasn't afraid at all that the Sahr Hyena would eat his bones along with his fingers.

Sahr Hyenas were ferocious and wild creatures. They could indeed be tamed and used by feeding them rotten meat, but they recognized their masters. Before each pup was born, it would be brought to the target person to familiarize it with their scent from a young age, so it would recognize its master's identity.

Moss was definitely the master, but after long-term feeding, the fat man was also someone it would obey. Later, through the commands of these two, a secondary command would be issued to make them obey the small leaders like Chen Mo who went out on missions.

They didn't care about anyone else.

Animals, after all, didn't have the concept of the Red Eye Organization; they recognized people.

But delegating authority should be a matter for missions outside. With both Moss and the fat man in the base, it was impossible for the fat man to delegate authority to the sentinels.

This was equivalent to the emperor's logistics manager in ancient times sharing the authority of the inner palace with the leader of the imperial guards. This sharing and decentralization of power was a major taboo for those in power.

The fat man shouldn't be that stupid. So the bearded man daring to get so close to that Sahr Hyena was an individual case—he probably often fed this particular Sahr privately.

That also proved that he had a good relationship with the fat man, which indirectly proved that the fat man must have a relationship with Sol, who was behind the bearded man.

Factional strife, wasn't it? He had just taken a side in advance.

Moss's expression didn't change, but the cowboy's expression became much more solemn.

"Continue," Moss said.

Sui Xin continued, "That Young Master Waka, the lines on him are also connected to this fat man."

Assuming Sol and the fat man were colluding, whether Waka knew it or not, when he led her through the messy refugee camp, he didn't have any security around. His words and body language were very relaxed, and he even took the lead in walking. This was very abnormal for someone who was afraid of death. It meant he believed he had an alliance with the fat man, and the latter wouldn't harm him. So, whether this alliance was sincere or not, what she said wasn't wrong.

Moss was still not surprised, but the cowboy was a little speechless and gave the fat man a deep look.

By now, Moss was mostly convinced that she really had this kind of ability, but he still continued, "What about the others?"

Sui Xin: "That Chen Mo, the lines on him are connected to you… and this fat man."

Chen Mo had offended Waka. To survive, he could only choose to side with Moss or Sol. As a notoriously cunning person, he wouldn't dare to risk choosing both. The risk was too great. Since he was already at odds with Waka, it was already considered currying favor with Sol. There was no need for actual collusion. So, as long as he wasn't an idiot, he would choose Moss.

Then there was the matter of controlling the Sahr Hyenas during the previous mission. It seemed his level of control was very deep. In any case, this relationship could be directly disclosed.

Disclosing it was less risky than not disclosing it.

"As for this cowboy uncle."

Sui Xin's tone paused for a moment, and she said cautiously, "He's also connected to you, and this fat man."

Her tone and pause made the cowboy uncle's eyes narrow.

"And this fat man… is connected to everyone."

It was discovered that the one with the highest appearance rate was the fat man.

This damn fat man had achieved the social accomplishment of "spreading the love, blooming everywhere, casting a wide net to catch all the fish, the main thing is not to offend anyone, everyone is one of us…"

No wonder he was sweating profusely, as if he was about to die on the spot in the next second.

A terminal case of social butterfly syndrome.

Anyway, Triple-Gun was shocked, and even Moss was stunned for a while before looking at the fat man with a faint gaze.

The fat man was wearing headphones. Sensing his boss's gaze, he was already drenched in sweat.

However, what Sui Xin said was half-bluff. It was just a guess. Because with the fat man's identity and situation, it was destined that reasons could be found to link him to everyone. As long as others had this suspicion, they could spontaneously find evidence.

Of course, colluding with everyone was better than colluding with just one person. Moss wouldn't trouble him.

It was just… quite socially awkward.

Look how scared he was, with a guilty conscience.

Moss was actually basically convinced. He was also well aware of the twists and turns among these people in private, but he still didn't forget the last question.

"Can you always see this?"

"No, not always. After using it for a while, I feel dizzy and weak. I feel like it consumes something."

She was already seriously injured and weak. Now, due to the slight inflammation and fever from the gunshot wound, even her lips had turned white.

After that, she said no more. As a prisoner, her life and death depended on Moss's whim…

Moss's fingers stroked the armrest. After a long while, he said, "Then tell me, between Tianxi Group and my Red Eye, which do you choose?"

This question was too beastly.

If she said she chose Red Eye, no normal person would believe it. It was clearly a lie.

If she said she chose Tianxi Group… it was like hanging herself.

Sui Xin was silent for a moment, then said, "I choose you."

Moss was stunned.

The cold sweat on Sui Xin's forehead trickled down to her chin. She said calmly, "I choose the you who can let me live."

Then… with a thud, she collapsed.

Sol and the others were all wearing headphones or covering their ears. Seeing her collapse, they didn't dare to relax, their expressions varied.

Did this mean she had passed?

In the silence.

Moss smiled and looked at Triple-Gun. The latter walked down, pressed his fingers on Sui Xin's neck and forehead. It was burning hot. He then checked the gunshot wound on her shoulder.

"It's infected. And from the live broadcast, most of those Mutants have enhanced physiques and stronger recovery abilities. Her physique and injury situation show that her resistance and recovery are not good. She's also running a fever. It seems her ability's direction is indeed different from others."

Triple-Gun couldn't figure out the category of this ability for a moment, but over there, Sol took off his headphones. He probably determined from Moss and the other's reactions that this prize indeed had a special ability, so he said, "If she really has this ability, I think it might be a form of telepathy."

Moss raised an eyebrow, looking at this more educated son of his.

Sol lowered his eyes and said calmly, "Telepathy includes recognizing intuition, premonition, a sixth sense, and the ability to have guided thoughts and shared knowledge with other beings. Things like that, without the need for traditional senses like sight, hearing, or smell, can transmit thoughts and feelings. In the past, this was considered a pseudoscience, but many of the emerging cults in recent years recognize this ability because they need it to transmit faith from that mysterious existence, like the Prophet Cult. Now it seems she might be using this kind of sensing to determine the connections between us. Whether it's past actual contact or emotional and mental inclinations, it can be used as a basis for sensing."

"Indeed, very magical."

Smart people never complain about their environment; they only change themselves to adapt to it.

Since this woman had already figured out his connection with the fat man and the others, he would deconstruct this ability.

Was it a matter of emotional and mental alignment, or was it due to past work connections? Who knew.

Moss glanced at his second son, not reacting much to this, and just said one thing.

"Treat her."

But he didn't say to lock her in a cell.

There was a bed, the bed wasn't dirty, the environment wasn't smelly, and someone treated her wound and applied medicine.

Soon, the person responsible for treating the wound left.

The stone cave room was completely silent. Because the light wasn't on, it was completely dark once the door was closed.

It was as if no one was there, only the weak breathing of the unconscious, seriously injured woman.

After a while, Triple-Gun, who had been sitting in the dark observing her condition, got up, reopened the door, and went out.

His footsteps were silent.

Only after the scent of his blood had completely disappeared did Sui Xin, lying in the darkness, open her eyes.

Actually, Sui Xin couldn't be sure if the "relationships" she had mentioned were completely correct. But apart from a portion that was deduced from observation, the rest was a bit of a catch-all. The main point was that none of the four, Sol and the others, would dare to privately seek revenge on her for fear of being resented by Moss. As for Moss, even if his subordinates were all connected like a sieve, based on the current stability of the base and the fact that he wasn't naive enough to think all his men were 100% loyal and upright, he wouldn't pursue the matter with these people.

If he didn't pursue it, the few in front wouldn't trouble her either. Instead, they would have to avoid her—they were wearing headphones and covering their ears. Weren't they acting so guilty? Did it prove that they had heard what she said clearly at the time? This was a major taboo.

So Sui Xin was certain that for now, none of the four, Sol and the others, would offend her. Only that cowboy uncle, Triple-Gun.

She wasn't sure who he had a definite connection with.

The fat logistics manager was easy to connect. It was estimated that Triple-Gun wasn't sure if he counted as having a relationship with him. As for whether he had privately colluded with Sol or Waka, Sui Xin really couldn't tell.

This person was definitely an Adept, experienced in killing, cunning and decisive. If she had exposed something about him, or said something wrong, he might have made a move.

So… she had deliberately paused and shown a fearful posture at the time, only saying that he was connected to the fat man and Moss.

This was very conservative.

If he was clean, he would naturally believe her ability existed. If he wasn't clean and was connected to others, he couldn't be sure if it was because she didn't dare to say it outright.

Anyway, Sui Xin had done her best.

"Even if I can't completely fool them, I can at least get by for a while with this. Once I recover a bit, I'll escape from here."

"Sigh, it's a pity my body's recovery ability hasn't improved. I don't know how long it will take to regain my strength, and how to recover this energy… Can't they just give me a bug-like ability that can directly absorb energy bars and other material energy sources?"

"If it takes too long, the company might track me down. I don't know if this group of people has cleaned up the traces at the base. I hope the company doesn't find out they've been there…"

"But there are so many corpses in that refugee camp, and they're all quite fresh. Some are wilderness creatures, some are the refugees themselves. Except for the people from Wuya Group who were captured, interrogated, and died tragically, the other corpses are very fresh and have no fatal combat injuries. That means they died from the Red Disaster. And this time, I didn't see Moss's other sons. It seems Red Eye also lost a lot of people in the Red Disaster. So, are there any Ability Users here? If they have them here too, it means the only condition for mutation is the Red Disaster, and it's not necessarily related to the worms or anything else."

Sui Xin had always been a person with a heavy mind. To save her life, she could rack her brains until they were both salty and sweet. After carefully going over whether there were any flaws in her performance this time and confirming that there were no major issues, she finally fell asleep exhausted.

She couldn't figure out the reason for the mutation, and she knew that such a secret could only be figured out by the top research institutes of the major corporations. Big data was very important. Her personal guesses were meaningless, so she could only force herself to sleep.

On the other side, after Triple-Gun left, he didn't report back to Moss directly. Instead, he paused in the dark corridor and said in a low voice to Sol, who was leaning against the corner, "She didn't mention my relationship with you. I don't know if she didn't see it, or…"

Sol: "If she doesn't have this ability and can still make such accurate judgments, and the only chance she had to observe us was from the main gate, through the refugee camp, and into the interrogation room, which was no more than fifteen minutes in total, and she had never seen Maka or you before, then her mind is so meticulous that it's even more terrifying."

Triple-Gun: "First, besides the gunshot wound, she has some flame burns on her body, but no combat injuries. This means her story is credible. And if she was trapped in the pharmacy all along, and later experienced the self-destruct and hid to save her life—when the Red Disaster came, she couldn't have avoided the Red Disaster Radiation. The possibility of mutation is very high."

Sol basically had the same judgment. As he spoke, he sighed, "Such good luck…"

Triple-Gun touched his gun.

"These Mutants are lucky, but except for a few chosen ones who get super powerful abilities right from the start, like flight, the others still can't beat Adepts."

"They lack time, and we also lack time. We must seize this golden capture period to find more Mutants—according to Chen Mo, that base exploded. Could it be that she was really the only survivor?"

Sol didn't speak. Soon, Triple-Gun also left.

Sol walked to the corridor and looked at the refugee camp, but only for a glance. His gaze then shifted to the distant Gobi wilderness, his eyes filled with resentment.

That was the direction of the B05 base.

Beep, beep, beep. A message came from the reconnaissance team over there.

That team was formed by Waka, so naturally, they were all his people. Otherwise, why do you think Waka delayed? It was because he had his own selfish motives and was determined to find his own people.

However, there was a mole inside.

Sol saw the message sent by this mole he had planted.

—No traces of other Ability Users found, nor any other survivors. Tianxi Group's people have not yet arrived. We are temporarily safe.

—However, we saw what looks like a tunnel in the ruins. We are still digging, awaiting results.

Sol's eyebrows raised.

A tunnel? An escape route?

"After digging it open, check if there are any female shoe prints inside."

"Yes."
