Chapter 214
The stone chamber storing the glass bottles exploded, causing all the adjacent chambers to collapse. Erin, holding Kama, summoned a skeleton and hurried to finally escape the blast radius.
The ground beneath her feet had turned a blackish-red, and the inscribed lines of an array were gradually becoming clear. A faint red mist rose from the lines, slowly spreading upward. Before she knew it, it had already submerged her calves.
“What in the world… is this array…” Erin looked down, her brow furrowed. Little Fur Ball, perched on her head, looked down along with her.
The red mist contained the pure Power of Darkness, yet this power sent a chill down Erin's spine, as if a venomous snake were coiling around her, making her feel cold and terrified.
Only the Power of Darkness from the Vampires could make her feel this way.
Kama hugged Erin's neck tightly, looking around uneasily. When she spotted the figures of Tang Qiu, Lucille, and the others in the distance, her eyes lit up, and she waved vigorously in their direction.
Tang Qiu was quite familiar with Erin and Kama's auras. Vaguely sensing them, she glanced around and spotted their hiding figures.
Tang Qiu frowned, reached out to grab Lucille's wrist, and turned to head toward them.
“How did you two end up here?” Seeing that Erin and Kama were injured, Tang Qiu raised a hand and cast a healing spell on them.
Erin breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Tang Qiu. She had no time to explain, simply pointing at the ground and saying quickly, “Grace, something is very wrong here. Beneath our feet… no, the entire territory of the Tzimisce Clan is actually an unactivated array.”
Tang Qiu looked down. In just that short time, the red mist had already reached their knees, and its color was growing richer.
Tang Qiu had felt something similar earlier when she looked down on the Tzimisce territory from the air. Now, hearing Erin's words, she narrowed her eyes and asked calmly, “Can you tell what kind of array it is?”
Erin held Kama tighter and studied it for a long moment, frowning, before saying uncertainly, “It looks like… a Teleportation Array?”
The array was too large for her to study in its entirety. Looking only at the patterns in this section, it bore some resemblance to a Teleportation Array.
Although ancient arrays had been lost for many years, some modern arrays were simplified versions of them, so their patterns and structures shared some similarities.
A Teleportation Array? Tang Qiu glanced at Lucille, and they exchanged a surprised look. Lucille frowned and said in a low voice, “It’s activated by blood.”
“We… we were in a stone chamber where the Tzimisce Clan stored blood.”
Now was not the time to investigate the cause of the array's activation. Judging by Eden's reaction, he also seemed terrified by it. Tang Qiu pondered for a moment before saying to Erin, “You two should leave this place first.”
Eden was just ahead. No matter what, they had to eliminate him first.
A roar filled with fury interrupted their conversation. A shockwave, generated by the collision of the Power of Darkness and werewolf power, swept through with an annihilating force, turning nearby buildings to dust. Tang Qiu raised her hand, creating a barrier of light to shield Erin and Kama.
A white figure was sent flying by the Power of Darkness. Lucille flashed over to catch the person, the immense impact forcing her back several dozen meters before she could steady herself.
Faye clutched her chest and spat out a large mouthful of blood, her face as pale as paper. Her voice was weak as she said, “He’s gone mad…”
Her clothes were almost completely soaked in blood. She raised a trembling arm, a tiny black bottle appearing in her hand. Faye pushed the bottle into Lucille's hand and asked in a low voice, “Whose… blood… is in here…”
The stopper on the small black bottle was gone, and it was still a third full of blood. The container seemed to be specially made, as not a trace of aura could escape from the blood within.
When Faye found Eden, he had just pulled this small bottle from the ruins. Judging by his careful movements, it was clearly very important to him.
“You’re in no condition to stay here any longer.” Lucille took the small bottle, glanced down at it, and said flatly, “I’ll send you up.”
Faye had already been seriously injured from single-handedly killing a third-generation elder; the healing spell had only stopped the bleeding.
“Faye!” A furious roar accompanied a black shadow that shot toward them. Eden’s expression was savage, his eyes practically dripping blood as he screamed madly, “Get the hell out here!”
His grim gaze swept the area and landed on Faye and Lucille. He immediately raised his hand, sending a black whirlwind mixed with red mist flying toward the two. However, it was blocked midway by a golden light as Tang Qiu flew over and knocked Eden aside.
Lucille glanced toward Tang Qiu, a hint of worry in her heart. She grabbed Faye’s arm, forcibly brought her up, and tossed her to Delphine.
“What happened down there?” Delphine was keeping the third-generation elder occupied, preventing him from going down to support Eden. Patricia, who was protecting her, saw Lucille arrive and asked in a deep voice.
“An array has been activated down below.” Lucille glanced at the situation and saw that the Tzimisce vampires were mostly dead or injured. She said, “Organize the werewolves and elves to retreat.”
Just as she finished speaking and was about to go back down, she remembered something. Turning to look around, she frowned and asked, “Did Erin and Kama not come up?”
Patricia shook her head. “I didn’t see them.”
Down below, the red mist had already spread to Erin’s waist. Holding Kama, she dodged the battle between Tang Qiu and Eden, saying with some exasperation, “At such a critical moment, how could you lose the scroll?”
Kama rummaged through her Space Gem but couldn’t find the scroll with the big bird, so frantic she was on the verge of tears. This area was enveloped in a werewolf’s domain, rendering ordinary teleportation scrolls useless.
“Don’t worry, don’t worry.” Seeing that Kama was about to cry, Erin reached out and patted her head. She looked up, pondering how to get them up there, while comforting the girl so she wouldn’t be scared. “It’s okay, I’ll get you up. Let me just think which dark magic spell would be best.”
She was so focused on looking up that she didn’t watch her step. Hidden within the red mist was a vortex, and Erin, still holding Kama, stepped right into it.
The ground suddenly gave way beneath her. Erin’s heart tightened. With no time to think, she hugged Kama tightly, and the two of them, along with Little Fur Ball on her head, were instantly swallowed by the vortex.
After swallowing the two, the red mist rose even higher. The water walls on either side seemed to be pulled by some suction force, and streams of water rushed toward the vortex, only to be devoured.
The ground began to tremble. The red mist obscured Tang Qiu and Eden, and both of them paused for an instant. A hint of hesitation appeared on Eden’s savage face; he clearly knew what this array was.
His plan, a thousand years in the making, was ruined in a single day. Eden was filled with resentment and hatred, rendering him unable to think clearly. He waved his bone staff, and black chains flew from all directions to bind Tang Qiu. He sneered, “Let’s go die over there together.”
The chains wrapped around her wrists, impossible to break free. Tang Qiu’s expression was grave; she could already feel a suction from below trying to pull her in.
A red shadow burst into the dense mist, its sharp claws aimed straight for Eden’s chest. Eden, busy dealing with Tang Qiu, couldn’t dodge in time and had one of his arms torn off.
Lucille appeared behind him, tossed the severed arm aside, and charged again.
At first, Eden was able to dodge Lucille’s attacks. But then his sharp eyes spotted the small black bottle in her hand, and he became reckless, lunging forward to snatch it. “Give it to me…”
Lucille tilted her head to avoid his attack, switched the small black bottle to her other hand, and her sharp claws left another long gash on Eden’s abdomen.
She had no idea what was in this small black bottle, but she couldn’t put it into her Space Gem. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have had to keep holding it.
The dense red mist was about to submerge the stone chamber. Listening to the sounds of the fierce battle, Tang Qiu calmly chanted a spell. Golden flames appeared around her, engulfing the chains. The chains held for a moment before finally snapping into several pieces.
Tang Qiu followed the sounds. The red mist obscured her vision, but she was so familiar with Lucille’s aura that she pinpointed her location almost instantly.
She reverted to her original form, transforming into a white wolf and pouncing toward a specific spot.
Lucille, who was locked in combat with Eden, sensed something. Her eyes flickered, and she released her hold on him, retreating in a flash.
Eden froze for a second. The next moment, he was tackled to the ground by an immense force. Jaws clamped down tightly on his neck, and the wolf’s sharp claws pinned his shoulders, as if about to tear him apart.
He let out a roar and tried to grab the white wolf with his one arm to throw it off, but a sudden pain in his chest drained him of all his strength.
Lucille pulled her hand from Eden’s chest and, with a blank expression, crushed the still-beating heart in her palm.
Eden stiffly turned his head to look at her, his gaze falling on the small black bottle in her hand. He said haltingly, “The blood… of Prince… Bernard…”
The white wolf rolled off Eden’s body and reverted to her human form. Tang Qiu raised a hand to wipe the blood from her mouth, while pressing her other hand to Eden’s chest to confirm that he was truly dead.
“Are you hurt? The array seems to be…” Lucille reached out to help Tang Qiu up. She was halfway through her sentence when a deafening roar of water suddenly drowned out her voice. Water vapor filled the air, quickly soaking their clothes.
Tang Qiu grabbed Lucille’s wrist in return and turned to look at her, seeing her mouth open and close but hearing nothing she said.
She squeezed Lucille’s wrist. Their eyes met, and they simultaneously flew upward.
The water walls on both sides collapsed with a roar. The drifting red mist transformed into a massive vortex, churning the seawater and turning the entire sky blood-red.
Tang Qiu’s expression changed when she saw the water walls collapsing. She pulled Lucille downward. Catching sight of another vortex behind them out of the corner of her eye, she weighed her options for a moment before pulling Lucille into it. The two of them vanished instantly.
Just as they disappeared, the seawater came crashing down. The vortex churned, circle after circle, rocking the Holy See’s large ship.
Dozens of vines flew down from above, binding the large ship tightly and moving it to the shore.
Delphine had single-handedly moved all the werewolves and elves. She had expended too much mental energy and her face had turned pale, but she remained floating in mid-air, attempting to part the swirling seawater once more.
She still hadn’t seen Tang Qiu emerge…
The vortex stirred the entire Oscarld Sea. A fierce wind swept everything loose on the shore toward it. The Elves, the Wolf Race, and the people from the Holy See retreated again and again, finally escaping the suction’s range only when the sea was almost out of sight. But the sky remained an eerie blood-red.
“A Teleportation Array…” Faye, supported by Fanny, stared blankly at the sky, murmuring in a low voice with a complex expression.
After an unknown amount of time, the blood-red color shrouding the sky suddenly vanished. Faye pushed Fanny’s hand away and returned to the Oscarld Sea.
Delphine and Patricia were standing on the shore, staring blankly at the deep pit before them. Hearing the sound, Delphine turned her head, looked at Faye, and said with a strained voice, “The entire sea region has been teleported away.”
She had never seen such a powerful Teleportation Array. Where… where on earth had it teleported them to?
