VAP - Chapter 190

Chapter 190: A Short Extra

1. Birth

The origins of Creation and Destruction were born in the void. They had no fixed form. From the moment Their consciousness took shape, They knew what kind of beings They were and what authority They held.

They would be the beginning of all things.

They would also be the end of all things.

At this time, They were the only two consciousnesses in the plane of existence.

Yue Du was born in a private hospital in the city where the Yue family lived.

This child was very special. Aside from her first cry at birth, she made no other sounds, nor did she fidget. She could open her eyes shortly after being born, and her deep amber eyes were very endearing.

Her mother lay on the hospital bed, exhausted.

Her father stood to one side, muttering unhappily to himself, “A girl.”

2. Childhood

Destruction had no childhood; It was born with knowledge. But even Destruction had a nascent stage. This was Its weakest period, but it didn’t matter.

Because at this time, only It and Creation existed in the plane, with no threats whatsoever.

Yue Du was seven years old, holding a first-grade textbook as she stood by the cradle, curiously observing the newborn Yue Hao.

She tried to read to her but was interrupted by deafening cries.

“My little sister is so noisy,” Yue Du concluded.

Then she ran to read to her mother, Ms. Ling, and received her mom's praise x1.

3. Growth

Destruction discovered that Creation was constructing a world. It gave the world life, and also gave it laws by which to operate.

“How interesting. I'm looking forward to it,” said Creation.

Destruction glanced over, uninterested. “Boring.”

Her parents divorced. Ms. Ling wiped her tears and said, “I'm taking both daughters.”

The man said, “Whatever. You think girls who are just going to be married off are that precious?”

Yue Du followed her mother to another city. She was extremely sensible, which put her mother's mind at ease.

4. Adulthood

Destruction used Its innate ability for the first time. Through a subtle, cosmic sense, It knew that a certain small world's time had come, and so It annihilated it.

The small world reverted to its most fundamental energy. Creation mused thoughtfully, “This can be reused. Not bad.”

Destruction was not interested. As Their fundamental natures repelled each other, It was easily irritated by Creation. Thus, It distanced Itself, generally not making contact unless necessary.

When Yue Du was in high school, Ms. Ling was diagnosed with lymphoma. The family's savings were quickly depleted, and Yue Hao was still in elementary school.

Her mother passed away. Yue Du cried once by herself, then methodically handled the funeral arrangements. Her only emotional act at the funeral was to drive out the members of the Yue family who had come to offer condolences.

She took stock of the family's debts and planned for the future.

“Let me lend you some money for now. Want to come work with me? You're very smart; you're suited for this line of work,” said one of Ms. Ling's friends, a talent agent.

Yue Du said, “Okay.”

5. Maturity

Destruction grew accustomed to sitting alone in a deep black hall in the depths of the void. It had mastered Its fundamental power to the extreme; It could destroy a small world without even blinking.

Sometimes, Creation would contact It to destroy a few small worlds. Destruction was too lazy to go out, operating remotely without a care.

Creation suddenly came to find It, saying excitedly, “I've thought of a new world model that will surely surpass all previous creations. Come and help.”

“I'm not going.”

“Splitting off a fragment of yourself would work too.”

“Tsk.”

Greed was separated and became the head of the Evil Gods, the Deep Darkness Ruler.

Yue Du became a famous gold-medal agent in her circle. She was very career-driven, but sometimes she felt exhausted and had considered changing careers several times, though she never acted on it.

I'll wait until Hao Hao graduates from university, she thought.

6. The Unexpected

Destruction had existed for an immeasurable number of years and would occasionally go out to wander through different small worlds.

Because the small worlds were too fragile to bear Its presence, It would seal Its own memories and fundamental power before entering a world's barrier, lest It destroy the world with a mere lift of Its hand.

This time, the small world It stayed in was called the Five Elements Continent.

When Destruction landed carelessly on the continent, It did not yet know that It would be given a name, and that the one who named It would become the one and only love of Its long existence.

Yue Du opened her eyes and saw a great hall where streams of data crisscrossed.

“Do you know you're a system?” a black-and-white cat asked.

Yue Du: “…”

As the cat customer service representative explained, Yue Du's eyes gradually widened.

At that moment, her mind was filled with thoughts of reviving Yue Hao. She didn't yet know what she would experience or whom she would meet. She certainly didn't know she would end up getting together with her mission's host—thinking it was their first meeting, when it was, in fact, a reunion.
