SCOM - Chapter 106
Chapter 106
An Yingjing had already taken off his skeletal mech, his entire body soaked in cold sweat.
When an Omega released an excessive amount of pheromones, they would break out in a cold sweat and become dehydrated.
As Luo Shaoyuan rushed over, she could still smell the strong scent of his pheromones. She scooped up An Yingjing and ran towards the nearby infirmary to give him a nutrient solution.
Only after seeing a bit of color return to his face did she pat An Yingjing’s cheek and shout, “You don’t need to release any more pheromones. The Gashiro people on the observation tower have all been eliminated.”
An Yingjing was exhausted. The excessive release of pheromones caused a dull ache in his gland. He was also very annoyed right now because some tactless person was constantly patting his face.
“Get your hand off me!” An Yingjing opened his eyes and slapped Luo Shaoyuan’s hand away.
Luo Shaoyuan said, “Oh,” and asked, “Are you feeling better? I’m going to…”
“Where are you going?” An Yingjing glared at Luo Shaoyuan, looking fierce. He just knew Luo Shaoyuan was a fool. He was in this state, and she still wanted to go back and fight!
Being glared at so fiercely, Luo Shaoyuan’s initial heroic impulse to fight immediately withered. She swallowed the second half of her sentence and stammered, “I’m going to, um, get you a nutrient solution.”
An Yingjing was slightly satisfied and waved his hand. “Go get it.”
Luo Shaoyuan pulled out a nutrient solution and handed it to An Yingjing, then looked at him expectantly.
“Aren’t you going to help me?” An Yingjing asked, sitting up against the infirmary bed.
Luo Shaoyuan could only pick up the nutrient solution again and help administer it to An Yingjing.
An Yingjing felt that something was off. Watching Luo Shaoyuan carefully wipe his arm with an alcohol swab and then inject the nutrient solution, he finally realized the problem. “Why aren’t you reacting?”
When Luo Shaoyuan got close to him, she would have definitely smelled a large amount of strong pheromones. This kind of targeted pheromone release was different from a wide-area diffusion. Not everyone was Zuo Luohuan; other Alphas, no matter how well-trained, would experience hallucinations.
The last time he made a bet to have her promise him one thing, An Yingjing had suddenly released his pheromones, and Luo Shaoyuan had fallen for it immediately. There was no reason for her to be unharmed this time.
Sure enough, after hearing his words, Luo Shaoyuan’s eyes darted around, not knowing what to say.
“You tricked me last time?” An Yingjing’s face inexplicably began to turn red. He lifted his head proudly and said, “Luo Shaoyuan, so you’re not a fool after all.”
Luo Shaoyuan packed up the used nutrient injector and threw it away, muttering under her breath, “I just wanted to see what you’d ask me to promise. Who knew you’d ask me to do… that.”
An Yingjing was speechless.
“Get out!” An Yingjing turned his back to Luo Shaoyuan.
Luo Shaoyuan was a bit exasperated. “Why are you angry again? It’s bad for your health.”
An Yingjing was already physically exhausted from the excessive release of pheromones. Being angered like this, he almost fainted again.
After a moment, he suddenly gritted his teeth and turned around, looking at Luo Shaoyuan, who still hadn't left. “My heat is here. I want to do something even more damaging to my health.”
“What?” Luo Shaoyuan didn’t understand what An Yingjing meant for a moment.
“This.” An Yingjing reached out and pulled Luo Shaoyuan down, and they both fell onto the infirmary bed.
Luo Shaoyuan: “!!!”
The warship successfully landed at the starship port. The skeletal mech team members disembarked quickly, searching every corner of the port and beginning to seize control of every area.
Ji Yuezhi looked up at the team members coming down from the observation tower, then led a squad and ran quickly towards the weapons tower.
Along the way, they could see bloodstains everywhere, making it impossible to distinguish whether it was the blood of Federation or Gashiro people.
The first-aid kits from the medical rooms along the route had all been taken out. Ji Yuezhi led his team up the weapons tower. As expected, the situation here was the most intense. The elevator, stairs, and corridors were all splattered with blood. Some low-lying areas had even formed pools of blood.
Ji Yuezhi had reached the highest floor of the weapons tower. There were countless fallen Gashiro soldiers and Scavenger Army members, along with shattered robot dogs.
He saw no trace of Zuo Luohuan. His heart was beating extremely fast, even starting to ache.
Ji Yuezhi’s fingers clenched tightly, but his expression remained as calm as ever. His gaze swept over the people lying on the ground, trying to find Zuo Luohuan, yet at the same time not wanting to see her.
“Ji… Yuezhi.” He Yue had gritted her teeth to bandage her heel, and the wound on her chest had been treated with a healing agent. She leaned against the wall, her face filled with exhaustion, but she still mustered the energy to say to him, “Go to the control room in the back. There are many more injured people.”
“Take the instructor and leave,” Ji Yuezhi said to the two team members behind him. He led the others towards the back.
The control room was guarded by many Scavenger Army soldiers. This was the last line of defense they were holding. If it fell, the outside world would be completely cut off from the capital port, thoroughly blocking any hope of rescue.
A team member tried to kick the door open before Ji Yuezhi, in case of any surprises, but was stopped by him.
Ji Yuezhi walked to the large door alone and pushed it open. As the two doors swung open, his gaze fell on a person inside, and a smile suddenly blossomed in his eyes.
She wasn’t injured. She was fine.
Zuo Luohuan had just finished bandaging a Scavenger Army soldier. Hearing the familiar footsteps outside, she stood up and looked at the door.
The moment she saw Ji Yuezhi, she had the strange feeling of a reunion after many years, even though less than three hours had passed.
Zuo Luohuan did not walk towards Ji Yuezhi. Instead, she raised an eyebrow and smiled at him, then picked up her medical kit and continued to help the injured Scavenger Army soldiers.
“Everyone, go in and help,” Ji Yuezhi said, turning to the team members behind him.
They carried medical kits and could help treat and delay the worsening of any non-fatal injuries.
Ji Yuezhi took a deep look at Zuo Luohuan before looking down at his optical computer.
After the skeletal mech team’s search, countless messages converged on his optical computer. Jiang Hong and Yan Yan’s side had encountered a small remnant group of Gashiro soldiers and robot dogs, but they were quickly dealt with.
Now, what they needed to do was activate the port’s defense network.
Ji Yuezhi walked to the front of the control room and reached out to press the red button.
The Scavenger Army soldiers inside were instantly stunned. Someone shouted sternly, “What are you doing? Are you traitors too?!”
“Senior, don’t strain your wound.” Before Ji Yuezhi could speak, Zuo Luohuan turned to the man and said, “We have our reasons for doing this.”
He Yue, who had just been helped down from the weapons tower, looked up at the defense network rising into the sky above the port. She was stunned, her whole body stiffening, then she suddenly relaxed. “These people… they’ve got guts.”
