First Battlefield Commander! - Chapter 214
Chapter 214: Don't Shake
Lian Sheng's expression cracked for a moment.
Was this guy mentally okay?
This person seemed extremely unreliable, lacking professionalism. For a moment, Lian Sheng suspected he wasn't a doctor at all.
While cleaning the wound and removing necrotic tissue, his fingers trembled uncontrollably, shaking even more than Lian Sheng.
Zhao Zhuoluo went to their refrigerator to find something to eat. Discovered the food reserves here were very rich, with quite a few snacks.
Brought them over, placed them nearby, and ate some himself.
Lian Sheng stared at the whorl of hair on the doctor's head: "I say..."
"I can do it! Don't be afraid! Don't shake!" the doctor immediately said. "Although I'm a pediatrician, and don't handle surgery, this is content I learned in university. I can still recite it!"
Lian Sheng: "..."
Lian Sheng: "..."
Lian Sheng: "..."
Lian Sheng: "..."
Lian Sheng: "..."
The doctor looked up accusingly: "Don't look at me; you're interfering with my concentration!"
However, although this doctor seemed clumsy, his handling was quite skillful.
After Lian Sheng's hand was pinned by the iron claw, it was forcefully dragged. The muscles were almost torn and stretched. Loose fibers from her clothes were also mixed in the wound. Later, she forcibly removed the iron claw, didn't treat it promptly, moved around with the wound tightly bound, further worsening it.
Although she lacked professional medical knowledge, she knew this situation was difficult to handle. Looking at the gruesome wound, necrotic tissue and blood vessels were indistinguishable.
The doctor's trembling hands didn't cause any secondary damage to the wound. He frequently changed treatment tools methodically, the progress speed wasn't slow, protecting her arm's muscle tissue as much as possible. And the more he treated, the calmer he seemed to become.
The legendary twenty-five-year-old otaku asked: "Since you are Alliance soldiers, why come here? How did Alliance people get in? And dressed so openly. Oh, I know, you came with the joint team, right?"
Lian Sheng said: "Rescue. You snatched our people."
"No!" He thought carefully, indeed couldn't find the answer, asked softly: "Is it an exam point?"
"..." Lian Sheng, "No."
"Oh, I don't care about things that aren't exam points," the doctor said. "It's great the joint team came; when they came, we got a holiday here. Holiday means I can read books!"
Zhao Zhuoluo looked up at him, saying with difficulty: "You really like studying."
The doctor looked at him resentfully: "You don't understand. None of you understand. Swimming in the ocean of knowledge, I can openly stay home. And Gelen's doctoral subsidies are very high. If I could get into the doctoral program here, screw being a doctor!"
The two: "..."
The doctor bandaged her, suddenly becoming melancholic again: "If I encounter danger, will Gelen send people to rescue me too? If Gelen falls into chaos, doctors will be highly respected, right? Then should I work for another two years, reach the peak of life first?"
Zhao Zhuoluo felt this person was from a different world, somewhat unable to grasp his brainwaves.
Lian Sheng comforted him: "No. No one will know even if you die here."
Doctor: "..."
Damn, heart stabbed, crying!
His bandaging skill was indeed quite good. Wrapped the bandage beautifully and neatly with one hand.
After finishing, he also breathed a sigh of relief, plopped down on the floor behind. Then found a blood bag and hooked it up for Lian Sheng.
Lian Sheng tried moving slightly, but found the fingers of her left hand were uncontrollable, almost unable to move. Lian Sheng stared at her hand without speaking.
The doctor tugged at his clothes hem: "The nerves below are largely necrotic. If you don't want toxic blood backflow, can only sever the blood vessels. If there were a proper operating table and medication, perhaps could maintain the original state to the maximum extent, but we don't have the conditions here now. This surgery takes at least ten-plus hours. But if not treated within twenty-four hours, it will also be too late. Prepare yourself mentally."
The last sentence might be hospital routine, but for the patient, that routine was a bolt from the blue.
Zhao Zhuoluo stood up abruptly: "Then do it!"
The doctor replied: "So I said if! I don't handle this kind of major surgery here; this is just a small clinic, buddy! I'm a pediatrician! The kind that only treats crying babies!"
"I'm fine," Lian Sheng retracted her hand. "Excellent, contact headquarters first, see how things are over there now."
Zhao Zhuoluo looked forcefully at Lian Sheng, lowered his head, rubbed his face, then pressed the communicator, preparing to speak.
Lian Sheng said again: "Control your expression, Excellent, you need to be clearer."
The doctor saw Zhao Zhuoluo's facial muscles twitching, but Lian Sheng remained calm throughout, without even a ripple of emotion, as if everything had nothing to do with her. He hugged his ankles, buried his head, and sighed again.
Zhao Zhuoluo took a deep breath, then asked: "How are you guys?"
"I wanted to ask how you guys are over there! Why did you stop moving? The suburbs are sealed off; we can't get the latest news there, can't confirm your safety, so report promptly yourselves, ancestors! Even turned off communication on me, really capable!" Hundred Meter Flying Dagger touched his throat, voice hoarse. "My throat is raw from shouting, my guts scared broken!"
Zhao Zhuoluo said: "Found an unevacuated civilian. Hiding with him in a small clinic, waiting for the right time to act."
Lian Sheng's communication was completely off, including receiving and sending. Because the channel was full of various chaotic shouts. Didn't plan to turn it on for now either. So asked beside him: "Where are Lu Mingyuan and the others?"
Hundred Meter Flying Dagger: "Already returned to the main urban area, currently safe. Although they are Alliance personnel, they entered legally with the joint team; Gelen cannot refuse their request for refuge. So I told them to temporarily find a place to hide, ready to support at any time."
Lian Sheng: "What about the city?"
Hundred Meter Flying Dagger: "Gelen city? City is fine for now. Looks like both sides in Gelen want to consume each other's armed forces in the suburbs first, then attack the urban area. But Maxwell isn't in the 3rd District, lacks the capital to contend with Barite. I think the 3rd District is mostly going to fall."
Clearly all Gelen people, saying "fall" seemed somewhat strange. Just a change of power between factions.
"Anyway, hold on a bit longer," Hundred Meter Flying Dagger said. "Not necessarily all bad news. Now the joint team personnel are trapped in the urban area. Since Alliance personnel are involved in ensuring security, we have sufficient reason to apply to go provide aid, then conveniently pick you up on the way back. But by then, the 3rd District should be under Barite's people for liaison. You also know the grudge between them and the Alliance. To avoid the other party finding fault, you came with the joint team, so you'll have to stay near the joint team then. So best before noon tomorrow, you need to rush back to the main urban area."
Mainly, the joint team officials were still in the main urban area. If Alliance personnel appeared in the suburbs, their actions couldn't be explained. The other party wasn't someone willing to let things go easily; public opinion would be somewhat troublesome.
Lian Sheng checked the time: "Oh, it's already 5 PM."
Hundred Meter Flying Dagger said: "So time is short, hurry tonight. Any problems? Your current location is still some distance from the main urban area. If necessary, we have to activate Moshi, but Moshi can't go too far, can only wait near the border line."
The doctor beside shook his head seriously.
Fighting was ongoing outside. Suspicious figures like them wanting to pass through gunfire back to the safe zone? Still quite a long distance from the main urban area here.
And even if the urban area was safe now, might not be in a while. Barite leading troops over, couldn't possibly just be to fight Maxwell for control of the suburbs.
Zhao Zhuoluo saw Lian Sheng nod, then said: "Understood, we will act according to circumstances."
Hundred Meter Flying Dagger seemed to let out a sigh of relief: "Remember to report situation at any time. Answer immediately when asked!"
Zhao Zhuoluo acknowledged, temporarily turning off voice transmission.
The three continued sitting in place.
Lian Sheng sped up the injection rate of the blood bag, but the doctor adjusted it back.
Doctor said: "Excessive blood loss, recommend quiet rest. Advice from a professional."
"The quietest place is inside a coffin," Lian Sheng said. "I just happen to like excitement."
Doctor asked excitedly: "Why haven't you requested support yet? Just two people, brother!"
Lian Sheng said: "Don't trouble the organization. Only eight of us came, thank you; requesting rescue is also non-existent. In this situation, even if we say we can't, he can only say condolences."
"You guys are so bold, bolder than me taking exams unprepared!" The doctor looked at them sympathetically. "But every time I took exams unprepared, I invariably got low scores!"
Lian Sheng waved her hand down: "I need quiet rest. Thank you for cooperating."
Lian Sheng said to Zhao Zhuoluo: "Ask him again, where exactly is Cornell? Did Maxwell lie to him?"
Zhao Zhuoluo hesitated for a moment, asked one more question.
Hundred Meter Flying Dagger was silent for a moment on the other end, then said: "Just contacted Maxwell using the Alliance's name. His secretary said Cornell disappeared before the joint team arrived. Currently, no one knows where he is."
Zhao Zhuoluo relayed. Lian Sheng remained silent, unable to utter a single "damn."
Hundred Meter Flying Dagger added: "Also, Lu Mingyuan and the others were asking if you were injured. Too noisy, so I answered for you."
He spoke as if very relaxed, but the hand resting on his knee was clenched tightly. The worry and tension described weren't exaggerated at all.
This operation was originally very dangerous, yet encountered the unluckiest thing. Luck is truly hard to fathom. The moment he knew, felt like cursing his mother.
But he had no qualification to panic and vent now; could only remain calm, analyze the battle situation.
During every mission execution, there would be some unexpected emergencies; casualties were unavoidable. He had seen this too much, could accept it. But at least, in the initial planning stage, they planned every step, ensured sufficient success rate, before issuing it, not letting soldiers take unnecessary risks.
Heroes are few, miracles are also few. When needing to expect miracles to continue, they had already lost.
Yet this time, an eight-person squad, deep inside the enemy camp Gelen, to rescue a target...
From the moment they set off, the Alliance considered their total annihilation as the outcome.
He didn't stop them, even indulged them. Fundamentally, he wasn't considered a qualified vice commander anymore.
Hoping they could return alive was Hundred Meter Flying Dagger's final wish.
"Cornell is your friend? Sounds a bit familiar."
The doctor thought for a moment, recalled it was a name destined to become an exam point, face turned ashen: "Isn't he our Gelen's clone? Or not?"
Lian Sheng: "You know he's a clone, don't know he's an Alliance Lieutenant Colonel?"
"Ah..." Doctor said thoughtfully, "Oh..."
Lian Sheng touched her ear: "When we went, Cornell was long gone from the target point. Maxwell might have let him go, but didn't tell us."
Lack of information flow between both sides led to this tragedy. If Maxwell could have notified them slightly, let them contact and negotiate with Cornell, things would have been much simpler. Why need such an accident?
But perhaps Maxwell didn't think the Alliance would accept such a clone whose identity was already exposed. What a huge trouble?
Zhao Zhuoluo frowned: "Then the ones ambushing in the room, could they be Maxwell's people?"
Barite suffered betrayal, not a magnanimous person. If had a chance for revenge, definitely wouldn't let Cornell go. Attacking the 3rd District this time, the suburbs happened to be the main battlefield, and Cornell was imprisoned here. Then sending people over to assassinate wouldn't be surprising.
Maxwell left the 3rd District in advance, perhaps knowing the other party would come to capture it, yet temporarily lacked sufficient forces, could only choose to hide. Then ambushing at the target location was a good choice. Not saying how effective, at least could disgust the opponent.
Result was accidentally injuring them.
"Could also be Barite. Even if Maxwell's people ambushed there, wouldn't be very effective. If knew when Barite would attack, should have evacuated the crowd beforehand," Lian Sheng said. "Besides, such a large hole on the rooftop, clearly blasted out. Do Maxwell's people need to blast? Could totally power up and walk in."
Should be Barite sending people to assassinate, but found Cornell already gone from the target location. Seeing no signs of attack around, could know Maxwell had secretly let them leave.
But simultaneously, Alliance personnel came to the 3rd District with the joint team, responsible for executing Cornell. Barite could certainly also think, the Alliance deliberately meddling in this mess, mostly related to Cornell, highly likely unaware Cornell had already been let go.
Leaving an ambush there was a very good choice, as it provided the perfect opportunity to retaliate against the Alliance.
Lian Sheng and Zhao Zhuoluo spoke, always saying half sentences, leaving half unsaid. Because knew the other could understand, so didn't explain much.
The doctor listened, confused. Although curious, didn't want to delve deep. Timid, so not very curious. Besides, his brain needed to leave space to remember his exam points. Extra things, clear out!
The doctor lay on the ground hugging his head, breaking the silence in the air, asking: "Have you noticed, the gunfire outside is getting louder?"
Zhao Zhuoluo walked to the window, glanced outside. Already quite a few armed personnel on the road, indeed approaching them. Said: "Opponent might be conducting searches."
High-damage weapons caused too severe destruction to the city; neither side wanted to use them.
Barite didn't want to inherit a ruined city. Gelen, such a resource-poor country, building cities required immense effort; he knew this best.
Maxwell also knew he couldn't hold the 3rd District, just putting up courtesy resistance.
His ultimate goal was to redevelop Gelen, not destruction nor simply power struggle.
Both sides strangely reached consensus on this point.
Using infantry for street-by-street searches was a better method. Could also avoid harming innocent civilians.
However, regardless of which side's soldiers, in such tense moments, seeing Alliance soldiers, there would be no reason for mercy.
Zhao Zhuoluo estimated the distance: "They're almost here; we have to go."
Lian Sheng pulled out the needle from her arm, took out several components from her shoes and legs, began assembling firearms.
Lian Sheng nodded her chin at the doctor, signaling him to come help.
The doctor reluctantly assembled it under her instructions. Lian Sheng grabbed it with her right hand, stood up leaning against the wall.
Zhao Zhuoluo had already started checking the map again, confirming the safest route to the main urban area.
Barite's air combat forces were strong; escaping with just the two of them was difficult. Could only utilize their reluctance to expand casualties to escape. Couldn't use vehicles, target too large, easily arouse suspicion. Best was through narrow passages, close to buildings, then act opportunistically.
They found two white coats in the clinic, put them on, providing slight cover.
Lian Sheng said to the doctor: "You come with us."
The doctor shrank into a ball, aggrieved: "No way? I at least healed your hand... no, not healed, but truly life-saving grace. Don't take me hostage; please let me return to Gelen's embrace."
"Then I still have a 14th District ID card; which country doesn't have some traitors? You dare say, others also have to dare believe," Lian Sheng said. "We leave from here; staying here is useless for you too. Already stayed with us for so long, you will definitely be suspected."
The doctor refused to death, hugging the table leg: "But my identity is real!"
The two didn't have time to waste with him.
"Then stay, we're leaving. Hope the other party confirms your identity before opening fire," Lian Sheng said. "Come, show us the way first. Where's the view better? Preferably hidden enough, not easily discovered. But also able to see the whole street scene."
The doctor shook his head again: "No! Are you trying to kill someone? Damn it, don't forget I'm Gelen personnel!"
Lian Sheng said: "Aren't those killed during your internal strife Gelen people? Look outside, aren't those fighting each other Gelen people? Special times call for special measures; don't think of the world so pessimistically."
The doctor's face flushed red, retorting: "Don't twist concepts. They are soldiers; soldiers having different stances, fighting each other, I can't help it either. But I cannot attack Gelen people for Alliance people! You're just inducing!"
"Yo yo yo, brain turns quite fast," Lian Sheng chuckled slightly, aiming the gun barrel at his head: "Then I won't induce, how about something practical?"
The doctor hesitated, undecided between heroic sacrifice and lingering life.
Clearly chatting harmoniously just now, now drawing blades against each other. Simply ungrateful, burning bridges, turning hostile ruthlessly...
But what use was talking morality with this group now? It was a matter of life and death.
He closed his eyes, whispering: "I... describe myself as a person harmless to society; I can't not be human..."
Lian Sheng saw him like this, found it somewhat amusing again. Gun body too heavy, only had one hand usable now, simply put it down: "Not killing, really. Not killing your people, just borrowing your flesh as hostage for a while. Let you go after leaving."
In the streets of the main urban area, police responsible for security drove police cars through streets and alleys, announcing, using loudspeakers to constantly shout: "All residents please note, evacuate immediately! Residents still lingering in the urban area, please follow us to the air-raid shelter for refuge! All residents..."
Cornell and Harry avoided their line of sight, frequently turning in the streets, finally hiding in an empty mall, carefully looking out through the glass windows.
Cornell pressed down his hat, preventing his face from being exposed.
Harry pressed against the window: "Why did fighting suddenly break out? Then after Barite takes the 3rd District, we can just leave amidst the chaos?"
Cornell said: "Also possible, just after taking control of the 3rd District, he will take the opportunity for a full-scale search; leaving will be even more inconvenient for us."
Harry: "..."
As they watched, they suddenly saw a black mech speed past the street corner. It turned a corner, shook off the pursuing police cars behind it, and headed forward.
Police cars were still shouting: "Stop! State identity! Mech ahead stop immediately; speeding mechs are not allowed in the urban area!"
"Eh?"
Harry wanted to lean forward to see more clearly, but Cornell pulled him, quickly squatting behind the wall.
Listening to the commotion outside gradually move away, Harry said: "What happened? Very strange shape. Did you see clearly?"
His dynamic vision wasn't developed enough, but Cornell's was always good.
"Should be a manual mech; sensor mechs don't have this shape," Cornell glanced once, speculating: "Movements very smooth, shell material is new. Judging by design, shouldn't be a retired old model."
Harry asked: "Gelen... also has manual mechs now?"
Cornell shook his head: "Haven't heard of it."
Harry: "Then where is it from?"
Cornell: "No markings."
No national markings, black, modern manual mech.
The answer seemed already obvious.
The two said in unison: "Moshi!"
"Alliance... Ji Ban and the others came? How could they come to Gelen? This is the 3rd District!" Harry exclaimed. "Did they come secretly or break in? But Moshi coming out definitely exposed them already. Moshi was just chased, where did it want to go? Can't escape at all!"
The Alliance's Moshi, for both Barite's and Maxwell's soldiers, was a good target.
Cornell wasn't worried: "They dare openly dispatch Moshi, means should have entered through legal channels. Then Gelen is now in internal strife; activating Moshi isn't such a bad thing. Just speeding on the street might violate traffic rules."
Harry hesitated for a moment, tentatively: "Could they have come for us?"
This guess was a bit bold; he himself couldn't believe it, subconsciously wanting to reject it.
But seeing Ji Ban, thinking of Lian Sheng and the others, felt very possible again. Otherwise, why would the other party go deep into Gelen's 3rd District?
Harry thought, maybe the Alliance had some urgent mission.
Cornell couldn't be sure either, didn't speak.
Harry tilted his head, looking at Cornell's side profile, tentatively asking: "Even if not, can we ask them to help take us away?"
Cornell said: "Unsure if the Alliance will accept me. But you can go with them."
He alone never had the need to leave.
Harry frowned, thinking.
Cornell couldn't stay in Gelen; he had to leave this place. Even if impossible, he wanted to ask.
But what to do?
Moshi had already gone far; they couldn't rashly go out now. How to tell the other party their location? And how to know the other party's location?
Cornell saw his fruitless pondering look: "If the Alliance wants to ensure personal safety, they won't participate in their internal war."
Now the 3rd District was in internal war. The Alliance's mech, if entered through legal channels, then Maxwell approved the entry permit. But everyone knew, Barite attacking, the 3rd District's main control would likely transfer to Barite.
They only had one mech, and were on Gelen's territory; couldn't do anything.
Cornell said: "He just went that way; at most will stop near the border line. You can go look over there, ask them to take you away."
Harry glanced into the distance, then turned his head to look at him.
Cornell said: "Many people over there, I can't go, too dangerous, I can't hide my identity. You go yourself, be careful. If discovered, just say you came with the Alliance people."
"Go this way."
The doctor pointed downwards: "Hidden, not easily discovered. Not high up, hard to be found by patrolling aircraft, close to the back street, right?"
Lian Sheng followed him down, saying: "Thanks, brother."
The doctor held the grenade in his palm: "You promised, not killing our people. If you kill, I have the courage to perish together with you!"
"Just deter and run; we didn't come here to kill people either. Our brothers are still in the main urban area, thank you; impossible to sell them out here. Will run back using civilian identities," Lian Sheng said dismissively. "Rather you, don't accidentally pull the pin. Also don't touch randomly. What if die unjustly?"
Weapon in hand, doctor full of confidence, firmly: "Won't, won't."
They went down to the first floor, walked to the backyard. There was a small garden there; the flower beds were built very artistically, undulating like waves.
The surrounding wall wasn't high; beside it was an iron fence. The small gate was also a magical gourd shape.
Lian Sheng and Zhao Zhuoluo walked over, squatting down against the wall on left and right sides, then began searching if infantry were ambushing within the target area.
Lian Sheng glanced outside, satisfied: "Very good, wide field of vision."
She gave the doctor a look: "I can't hold it steady; be my gun rest."
The doctor knelt on one knee, tentatively extended both hands, made a small flower gesture, asking: "Rest like this?"
The tense atmosphere dissipated completely. Lian Sheng couldn't help but laugh: "Why are you so funny? Squat down for me!"
The doctor finally reacted, turned around, squatted down facing away from her.
Lian Sheng rested the gun on his left shoulder, began aiming: "Cover your ears."
The doctor heard, tightly covered his ears, then buried his head. Afraid if he didn't watch, Lian Sheng would kill someone opportunistically, forced his eyes open, staring into the distance.
But this way, couldn't touch the grenade to show threat.
That comrade just shook and shook, shook and shook, shaking like chaff.
Lian Sheng said: "Don't shake! Bring out your surgery momentum!"
The doctor's whole body tensed: "But I shake during surgery too. No wait, what surgery do I do in pediatrics? You can try switching to the right shoulder, the legendary golden..."
Suddenly a gunshot exploded beside his ear. The doctor paused, dazed. Didn't even see which direction the gun fired towards.
Lian Sheng fired one shot, then switched to his right shoulder: "So told you to cover your ears."
What use! Drinking poison to quench thirst!
The doctor licked his lips; this situation was too terrifying for him. Thinking of his future, couldn't help but tear up: "What will happen to Gelen in the future? What will happen to me?"
Lian Sheng: "How would I know."
The doctor's bitter tears were about to flow: "First time a lady actively touched me, unexpectedly was asking me to rest her gun."
Lian Sheng was startled: "No way, you?"
"I... I'm just a homebody. Haven't you heard? The male-to-female ratio is seven to one; for every straight couple, there are three gay pairs. Medical school is even worse. Is it easy for a straight homebody like me to get by in there? And I'm a real homebody – all that studying practically made me one!" The young doctor sighed. "I did my bachelor's and master's back-to-back, that's seven years! Look, my skills are actually decent, I just don't handle the pressure well. As soon as I see a wound, my hands shake. So I tried for my doctorate, but failed the exam three years in a row. Then I just had to start working."
This experience sounded legendary.
While talking, Lian Sheng fired another shot. Landed right next to the previous shot.
Doctor asked: "What are you doing now?"
"Telling him not to move. I can kill him anytime I want, but I don't want to kill him. To express my friendliness," Lian Sheng said. "Born from the same root, why torment each other so eagerly."
Zhao Zhuoluo shouted towards the opposite side: "Brother, make way! We need to return to the main urban area to defend the city!"
A moment later, a black shadow flashed across opposite, actually leaving.
Doctor couldn't believe: "N... no way?"
Everyone were Gelen's small soldiers, fighting a war whose outcome was already known.
For small soldiers, they had no choice, didn't know whose domain Gelen would be in the future. Didn't want to offend either side too much. Fulfilling duties perfunctorily was enough; who would be so dedicated?
A path opened up ahead. Lian Sheng shouted: "Go!"
The doctor struggled to keep up behind.
Lian Sheng asked: "Your stamina okay?"
Doctor said: "No, no, I also exercise. Now exams for anything have physical tests, and getting stricter too."
Lian Sheng: "Yeah, exercise more. Working overtime, sleeping dead in the hospital, body can't take it, careful of sudden death."
"I..." Doctor hesitated for a moment, said as if determined: "Confessing, telling the truth. I fell asleep watching a movie."
Zhao Zhuoluo, who had been tense and silent, couldn't help but turn back to look at him.
Lian Sheng: "...What movie?"
"War movie, documentary. Just wanted to know what we would do if we really fought? Never experienced it, no experience, especially scared," Doctor said. "Half asleep heard gunfire, thought I was still dreaming. Didn't expect fighting really broke out!"
Lian Sheng: "And then?"
Doctor said resentfully: "Insurance bought in vain, probably won't cover it at all!"
Lian Sheng: "Summarized very well!"
Doctor proudly puffed out his chest, revealing smug little eyes.
The three passed through the back streets.
The opponent's search wasn't thorough enough; basically no soldiers in the back alleys. But there were at the intersections.
Lian Sheng and Zhao Zhuoluo disassembled the heavy rifles again, stuffing them at their waists. Then stuffed the small handguns into the pockets of the white coats.
Lian Sheng said to the doctor: "Come, wearing your white coat, go ahead and attract attention for me. Just say you're an unevacuated civilian, plead to be taken out."
Doctor: "I originally am."
Lian Sheng: "Then say we are too, tell them not to shoot. But we are too scared, don't trust you, so ran away."
Doctor asked: "And then?"
"No then. Then you go your way, we go ours," Lian Sheng said. "Thanks. Grenade back to us."
The doctor was confused for a moment, feeling his position was simply bizarre. Still returned the grenade to Lian Sheng.
"You guys are too amazing. I couldn't even imagine," the doctor looked at Lian Sheng's dangling hand. "If it were me, I wouldn't have made it this far. I would have collapsed."
Lian Sheng said: "Didn't you keep up just now too?"
"Yeah," he moved his lips slightly, deciding to praise himself: "I'm truly great."
