Chapter 30

The camera returned to the left path. From the commentator's heavy gasp, everyone felt his deep exhaustion.

"This commentator is good, he said everything I wanted to complain about. My heart feels greatly relieved, I'm very happy now!"

"I'm still waiting for Kai Yun to create a miracle!"

"If Kai Yun unfortunately dies, I hope everyone doesn't waste her backpack. I'm so curious what kind of dishes she brought today!"

The invigilator glanced at the comment section, not entirely agreeing with the negative remarks. He snorted and clicked to block them.

The comment section, which used to bring him joy, was no longer the same. It was blinded by dark clouds. He would let them know how formidable Kai Yun was once she transformed.

Amidst the crowd's clamor and debate, progress appeared on Kai Yun's side.

Everyone was startled, and even the commentator became nervous.

What if someone died accidentally and he didn't have time to react?

In the picture, Kai Yun, as expected, encountered her first wave of enemies.

Although there were fourteen teams guarding this area on the left path, they weren't gathered together but were evenly distributed along the entire route. This was because the path on this map was too narrow, and too many people would easily cause chaos. Once they fell into disarray, it would give Kai Yun an opportunity to fish in troubled waters.

Furthermore, they didn't want to scare Kai Yun away from the start by having too many people. They had seen her Lightness Skill and weren't entirely confident they could keep her if she wanted to leave.

The perfect and most satisfying tactic was to lure the enemy deep, then, just when she thought she had escaped, suddenly attack and cut her down under a tree while she was exhausted.

Commentator: "Alright, guarding the first checkpoint are two teams, a total of twelve people! According to the original plan, they will deliberately show weakness to lure Kai Yun and her companions deeper. But now Kai Yun's team only has two people, so showing weakness without being obvious seems not so simple. Will Kai Yun fall for it?"

The teammates in ambush were clearly confused as well. They exchanged glances, and a slight hesitation appeared in their hearts.

If there were only two people... maybe killing them directly wasn't impossible? Was a tactic even necessary?

Kai Yun wiped the sweat from her palms on her pants, then gripped her saber handle again. Looking ahead, she said, "My dear friend, be ready to unleash your ultimate."

Jiang Tu snapped out of his nervousness: "Huh?"

Kai Yun: "Use wide-range attacks, be careful if they get close."

Jiang Tu nodded solemnly: "You don't need to worry about me." Although he couldn't help much, he didn't want to be too much of a burden to Kai Yun.

Kai Yun twisted her neck, took a few small steps forward, and then suddenly began to charge.

Her military boots kicked up a layer of yellow dust from the already firm dirt path, and she shot out like an arrow from a bow.

The students in ambush immediately shouted: "Be on guard! Cover each other! Ranged attackers, quickly restrain her speed!"

Arrows from crossbows were instantly shot out, chasing after her position, but they couldn't keep up with her speed and missed twice in a row.

The twelve people quickly adjusted, spreading out to wait for an opportunity.

How could a close-combat martial artist have the guts to challenge twelve people alone? Where did she get so much courage? Did she borrow it from the sea urchin?

The live stream commentator shouted hoarsely: "Kai Yun is charging up! As expected of someone skilled in Lightness Skill, she's too fast! She's practically turning into a gust of wind! Will she sweep everything away like a protagonist from a power fantasy novel?"

The commentator clenched his fist: "She successfully dodged the arrow attack!"

"Okay, she made a beautiful sudden stop, sharply turned behind a tree, and successfully grabbed an opponent! She tried to slash!"

The commentator cried out in regret: "She didn't hit! The opponent retreated in time and dodged!"

"Not good! She seems to have fallen into a trap. While she was attacking, the opponents rushed over and adjusted their positions. Now they have completely surrounded her! Kai Yun is now besieged on all sides, how will she break free!"

"Ah..." The commentator's mouth was dry, "She ran! Okay, she wants to use her excellent Lightness Skill to break through directly!"

The camera shifted again, and the commentator didn't know whether to slap himself or Kai Yun for a moment. He quickly corrected himself: "Oh no... she stopped again! She's heading towards the opponent's ranged profession!"

The commentator's years of experience couldn't keep up, and the real situation on the field was naturally even more perilous. Although the few students involved had the advantage in numbers, they didn't feel very secure. They stared intently at Kai Yun, not daring to be distracted for a moment, trying to predict her next move.

However, it was difficult.

Her attacks, retreats, or defenses were completely unpredictable. When she struck with her saber, it seemed like a feint; when she retreated, she would suddenly change direction. And the faint smile always lingering on her lips always gave them the illusion that they were being toyed with, leading them to doubt their next move.

Just those two short rounds of offense and defense made them deeply understand a saying: A woman's heart is like a needle at the bottom of the sea... they were really having a hard time.

"Don't panic, don't be fooled! Pay attention to your positioning! The advantage is with us!"

None of them thought of sneaking up on Jiang Tu and taking him hostage. And Jiang Tu couldn't get involved at all, afraid that a rash attack would disrupt Kai Yun's rhythm.

The battle shifted inwards, centered around Kai Yun.

Kai Yun's initial move was just a small test, striking and then disengaging. Unexpectedly, it was extremely effective, instantly shaking the opponent's morale.

She took the opportunity to confirm the opponent's positions, then charged without hesitation towards the assassin hiding behind the tree, throwing hidden weapons.

The opponent wasn't flustered and casually threw a handful of flying daggers at her.

Seeing this, Kai Yun raised her weapon and slashed down forcefully at a point in mid-air.

The fierce wind from her internal energy whistled, scattering the fallen leaves on the ground and simultaneously knocking the incoming flying daggers to the ground one by one. The clanging, crisp impact sounds were pleasant to the ear in this environment.

The opponents frowned.

To use the internal energy of an ultimate move just to block a hidden weapon was too extravagant. She clearly had a way to dodge it.

How many times could she keep up this kind of fighting style?

Kai Yun landed and immediately changed direction again, rolling once on the uneven slope. Her movements suggested she picked something up, but it was too fast to be certain.

Before they could analyze the reason for her action, everyone felt the team's pursuit rhythm slow down by a beat.

The camera immediately rewound, showing a boy who was completely unprepared, hit in the forehead by a flying dagger, and instantly ejected from the system.

Whoa!

Could she use hidden weapons?!

In that moment of shock, the team revealed a flaw.

Kai Yun grinned ferociously and caught up to the assassin, showing him the edge of her saber.

When an assassin is engaged in close combat, their fighting power is clearly no match for Kai Yun, a close-combat fighter. He instinctively turned to run.

His teammate immediately reminded him: "Don't run! You can't outrun her! Don't turn your back on her!"

The assassin paused upon hearing this, but it was already too late to turn back.

Kai Yun slashed at his neck, then changed the angle of her blade, cutting the strap of his bag and taking his military backpack containing hidden weapons.

Having lost two teammates in quick succession, the opposing students were incredibly heartbroken. However, Kai Yun seemed to have an electric motor installed; she was tireless, maintaining a state of charge from the moment she entered the battle.

Several changes in direction, attacks, and escapes, yet she showed no flaws. The only thing they could fully keep up with was her eyes.

And now, they had an ominous premonition.

Kai Yun finally stopped for a moment ahead, turned around, and gave them a wicked smile: "Didn't I say? I've learned a little bit of every weapon, I just learned saber techniques the most."

She rapidly spun the stolen flying dagger between her fingers. Her skilled handling proved this wasn't her first time using one, and the previous hit wasn't an accident.

Kai Yun said: "Although I only learned them so-so, it seems they're still enough."

Before her words finished, her fingertips and arm exerted force simultaneously. Kai Yun threw the flying dagger with lightning speed.

Her strength was already great, and her internal energy was fierce. The flying dagger cutting through the air was even more tricky and swift than the one from the professional assassin!

She was only trying to intimidate, not attack. The flying dagger finally plunged into the ground not far in front of her.

And the dull "thud" as it pierced the mud was enough to prove its lethality.

With this, the attack range of the flying dagger couldn't be accurately judged, and the opponents didn't dare to rush forward anymore.

Kai Yun pulled out a few new ones, tucking them into her waist and pockets. She smiled at them and said sincerely: "Thank you for the gift, I really like it."

The few people looked at each other, their faces full of confusion: "Is she kidding?"

Commentator: "Holy crap?"

"No." Realizing he'd misspoken, he quickly spat, "I mean, that dagger—it was lodged in really well!"

The audience was in the process of being shocked and didn't notice his slip-up.

The invigilator quickly reopened the comment section.

Look! His beloved source of happiness was back!

"How many skill points has she unlocked? Is her skill tree different from ours?"

"Geniuses in this world are truly hateful!"

"Kai Yun: As long as my moves are flashy enough, you'll never guess my tactics. doge"

"Kai Yun: It's okay if you can't guess, as long as I can kill you. doge"

"You have more people! Don't forget your confidence at the start! Go, young men!"

However, while the opponents didn't move, Kai Yun couldn't stay still. She wanted to take down a few more people before the other teams reacted.

With flying daggers in hand, Kai Yun was a great restraint to the enemy. She could attack strongly from both near and far, and with her King's Aura fully unleashed, she actually gained the initiative, running wildly within the encirclement.

The commentator applauded: "A brilliant kite-flying strategy. It is player Kai Yun who makes us understand that Lightness Skill can also become a new profession! She offers an alternative interpretation of the phrase 'In martial arts, speed is king.' But can she keep it up? The teams behind are also about to arrive, and she will truly be facing over a hundred people!"

Just as the commentator finished looking ahead, Kai Yun was flying in mid-air, preparing to spread her wings, when the camera cut to the right path.

Lei Lei and Ye Sa were still walking on this rather picturesque road.

By now, the sun had risen halfway above the horizon, and the water droplets on the leaves reflected sparkling light. The tranquility everywhere revealed the words "completely empty."

Lei Kaiding said indignantly: "Those guys from the Second Military Academy are truly shameless! They are trying to wear down our patience and dismantle our vigilance! Can you believe that in a single arena with only three paths, an entire path is empty? No! This is clearly an empty fort strategy. We must knowingly head into the tiger's den! When I cut off the dog heads of those guys from the Second Military Academy, I'll show them what a younger brother is!"

Ye Sa remained silent.

The commentator was still immersed in the previous reversal and didn't want to waste a single word on these two brothers.

"Okay, they have now missed the first fork that could turn towards the middle path. They chose to continue forward! Although there is nothing ahead. I wish them luck, although their current safety level probably doesn't need my blessing."

Immediately after, the camera cut to the middle path, quickly changing angles twice before stabilizing. This showed how busy the live stream administrator was, almost on the verge of collapse.

The commentator picked up the teacup on the table and quickly gulped down a drink.

With such a fast pace, his throat was also about to give out. More importantly, he had to switch emotions to face the battle on the middle path.

This was completely different from his usual workload. For a battlefield with multiple intense combat points like this, multiple commentators should ideally cooperate.

He was losing out too much!

He focused his eyes and found that the two-on-six battle on the middle path was also very intense. He brewed for a long time, and finally, only an "Uh..." came out.

What was going on? Even a TV series insertion would at least have a recap. You just jump straight into a high-energy scene, how is he supposed to commentate?

This was making things difficult for him, the commentator!
