When the Black Moon Rises - Chapter 211

Chapter 211

Chapter 211

She threw it towards the side hall.

Whoosh!

The orb shattered, and a red flame, seemingly unquenchable by any spiritual power, quickly spread between the pillars.

“Haha.”

Only after feeling the searing heat did she truly laugh.

The crimson flames rapidly engulfed the side hall.

She watched it, her dark eyes filled with a murderous intent. She wanted to kill them all.

Everyone who had wronged her.

She took out a few more orbs and threw them around the side hall.

Then, she walked towards the side entrance of the residence.

She walked slowly at first, but her pace quickened, and soon, she was running.

As she ran, she threw the orbs containing the Mystic Ruler's fire around her.

She reached the side entrance, the only one she had left open.

She carefully placed the last artifact, which would create a barrier, at the center of the gate, preventing anyone from entering or leaving.

She stepped outside the residence, her movements fluid and quick, and then, turning back, threw the remaining orbs into the courtyard.

The tall walls of the residence were engulfed in flames.

She could hear the servants screaming, but she didn’t care, the Seventh Consort cried, the sound echoing through the empty garden, a garden deserted, a place that used to be vibrant. She cried until all the servants were silent, then she walked over to the side entrance and erected a barrier and spoke.

“All of you, die! Every last one of you!”

She had so many things she wanted to do when she regained control of her body. How she had longed for this moment.

She had dreamed of reuniting with her family, of holding her son, whom she had never been able to raise, in her arms, of telling him she loved him.

She had wanted to see her husband, to tell him how proud she was of him, how much she had missed him.

She had dreamed of being happy with them.

But she didn't have much time left.

So, she would do what she could.

She raised her voice, her screams filled with anguish, her eyes unable to see anything but the blazing flames within the residence’s walls.

Was this hell?

The riverside, where the battle had ended, was covered in blood and gore, the remains of the Corrupt Dragon scattered like rain.

A single claw, severed from his body, fell to the ground with a thud.

And then, more flesh, more teeth…

The stench of burning sulfur assaulted their nostrils.

The Corrupt Dragon’s black miasma, like a living thing, spread across the land, corrupting everything it touched.

The trees and grass turned black and withered.

“Ugh…!”

The warriors outside the barrier were instantly killed, their faces turning black, while those within the barrier also grimaced, clutching their chests, struggling to breathe.

Who could possibly deal with this?

Not even the Baek Clan’s head, a Divine Beast, could purify this.

“...Oh, heavens…”

They trembled, despair washing over them as they whispered prayers, when…

The spiritual power surrounding a slender, pale woman flared up, her crimson eyes narrowing into vertical slits.

“?!”

And then, something exploded.

KABOOM!!!

“Agh!”

“Ugh!”

The warriors within the barrier, unable to withstand the force, were thrown backwards, clutching their faces.

A fiery red dragon appeared, its flames consuming the darkness, a powerful wind sweeping across the land.

Roar—!

A deafening roar, like the cry of a god, echoed through the sky.

“Ugh!”

The warriors within the barrier, despite their protection, felt an overwhelming heat, forcing them to retreat, their faces pale.

Flames, like a living storm, rained down on the earth.

KABOOM! Bang!!!

The ground shook, hills crumbled, and the miasma was pushed back, consumed by the flames.

Whoosh!

Countless arrows of light pierced the sky.

KWA-KWA-KWA-BOOM!

The arrows, made of pure spiritual power, exploded, sweeping the black miasma with a wave of fire.

“!”

…But that was all.

The miasma, though dispersed, soon reformed, as if mocking the flames, growing even thicker, even more potent.

The Corrupt Dragon’s curse, a chilling reminder of his existence, brushed against her cheek, leaving a faint scratch.

Drip, drip.

Blood trickled down her skin.

‘So this is it…’

She gritted her teeth.

‘…It won’t work…’

Even with her newfound power, she couldn't purify the miasma.

Just as Baek Giha had said, as a Divine Beast, she had more restrictions, a clearer understanding of what she could and couldn’t do.

Fortunately, she knew how to deal with this.

—…

But how could she make this decision so easily?

That would mean becoming one with that waterfall of light, merging with all spiritual power.

That would mean…

‘…being forgotten by everyone, just like the Corrupt Dragon said…’

…Alone…

…In that light, for eternity…

She was afraid, despite herself.

Her gaze shifted.

Every living being outside the barrier was dead, the land itself rotting, decaying.

‘I have to decide… quickly…’

She closed her eyes, then opened them, her crimson eyes finally turning towards him, towards the one she loved.

—!!

And there, amidst the miasma, Baek Giha stood, his gaze fixed on her, his eyes unblinking.
