Princess Syndrome - Chapter 89
Chapter 89: Insomnia
Su Lingyue was a little rascal. Even after Ji Zhiyi had given in and had done it once, she still wasn't satisfied. In the middle of the night, she kissed Ji Zhiyi awake, and then pestered her to do it again. After they had finished, they didn't have the energy to take a shower.
The room was dark. The curtains were closed. Not even a sliver of moonlight could get in.
This kind of quietness had a strange sense of security.
All the shameful thoughts could be released, including the sounds and the positions.
Su Lingyue hadn’t heard Ji Zhiyi’s voice all night, only a reserved humming. In the dark, she leaned closer to Ji Zhiyi, and said softly, "Speak."
Ji Zhiyi was helpless: "What should I say?"
Su Lingyue said, "Anything. I want to hear you talk."
Ji Zhiyi didn’t even have the strength to laugh. Her body had been pushed to its limit, and her hand was still held by Su Lingyue, and was placed on her waist. She said, “Do you have that much energy?”
Su Lingyue leaned closer and said, “I’m happy.”
She was really like a tireless heater.
She always gave off warmth.
Ji Zhiyi was warmed by her. She turned her body to the side, and rested her head on her hand. She laid closer to Su Lingyue. Su Lingyue quickly moved away, leaning back. Ji Zhiyi reached out and quickly hugged her: "Don't fall."
Su Lingyue said: "It's okay, there's still space here."
As she said this, she put her arms around Ji Zhiyi's neck, and was practically hanging onto her. After leaning closer to Ji Zhiyi, she suddenly thought of something. She lifted up the blanket, and said: "Wait for me."
As she said that, she walked towards the cabinet in the dark. Ji Zhiyi was afraid that she might fall, so she turned on her phone. The screen lit up. The furnishings in the room were faintly visible. Su Lingyue had her back to her. Her body was beautiful, like a spirit that had just been formed. Everywhere you looked, you could see the delicate touch of a meticulous craftsman. She stood next to the cabinet, and opened the door. She took out the white bedsheet from inside. It was the extra set that the hotel had. It was slightly thicker than their current bedsheet. It was hot, so they wouldn't have used it, but now it would come in handy to change the other one.
Su Lingyue turned around with the bedsheet.
She saw that Ji Zhiyi’s phone screen was lit up. She used the bedsheet to cover her body, and said: "Turn it off."
She was a bit embarrassed.
She hadn’t shown any shyness when she had been saying all those things earlier. But now, she knew how to be shy.
Ji Zhiyi laughed, and obediently turned off her phone. Su Lingyue walked over. Just as Ji Zhiyi was getting up, Su Lingyue pulled her to the side: "Don’t move."
As she said that, she took the new bedsheet from Ji Zhiyi’s hands. After she had spread it out, she patted the spot next to her: "Ji Zhiyi."
Because she couldn't see it, she had just thrown the old bedsheet on the ground. She was planning to pick it up tomorrow. Unfortunately, she had thrown it on Ji Zhiyi’s left side. Ji Zhiyi wanted to go around to the other side of the bed, but because she hadn't walked on the same route that she had, her leg got tangled up in the bedsheet on the floor. She almost fell.
Her body had lurched. Fortunately, her hand caught the chair, so she had been able to steady herself.
Su Lingyue had been startled by the sound of the chair.
She quickly got off the bed.
She stood next to Ji Zhiyi: "What’s wrong?"
Ji Zhiyi hadn't opened her mouth yet.
Su Lingyue said: "Are your legs weak?"
Ji Zhiyi: ...
She said, "I’m not."
Su Lingyue’s voice was soft: “If you are, you are. I won’t laugh at you.”
The laughter was about to burst out of her.
She dared to say that she wouldn’t laugh.
Ji Zhiyi also played along with her, and simply said: "Mm, then help me.”
As she said that, she leaned half of her body on Su Lingyue.
In the darkness, the fragrance was especially pronounced. Su Lingyue hugged her waist, and just as she was about to walk forward, her arm bumped into the chair. Her pace forward paused. Ji Zhiyi turned her head: "What's wrong?"
The curtains were made of light-blocking fabric, so the room was completely dark. Not even a sliver of light could get in. Su Lingyue was still hugging Ji Zhiyi. She said: "I'm a bit tired."
Ji Zhiyi didn’t understand: "Then should we go back to bed to rest?"
Su Lingyue was being a rascal: "I want to sit for a bit first."
As she said this, she turned the chair and sat down. Her pajamas were still on the chair. She sat down on the cotton pajamas. She only used a bit of strength, and Ji Zhiyi simply followed her lead and sat on her lap.
It was only a few steps away from the bed.
She was saying she was tired.
She probably wasn’t tired.
She had her own little plan.
Ji Zhiyi didn't see through it. She simply leaned on Su Lingyue. When Su Lingyue reached out, she followed her lead and sat on Su Lingyue's lap, her arms around her neck.
This time, without the cover of the blanket, all the sounds were magnified, clear and loud, and they echoed throughout the room, as if there was an echo. It stung their eardrums, causing them to sink into it.
Ji Zhiyi lowered her head, and for once, she was willing to bite Su Lingyue's neck. Her teeth sank into her flesh, her lips tasting her skin and the veins beneath it.
The skin that had been bitten moved slightly as she shifted her body. The deeper she bit, the more intense the movement.
Finally, she unconsciously loosened her bite.
Her entire body was leaning against Su Lingyue.
Su Lingyue’s fingertips hooked at her. Ji Zhiyi’s body contracted uncontrollably, like a clam that wanted to close tightly, but it was never able to do so. The invisible waves turned everything upside down within the shell. Clear liquid spilled over the edge of the shell.
Ji Zhiyi unconsciously leaned back, but Su Lingyue hugged her waist tightly and sat her back down.
It was like a jewel, placed back into its original position. But the surface of the jewel had a luster. It had been watered with spring water, making it seem even more smooth.
At that moment, she heard a muffled clap of thunder. It seemed like it was drizzling outside. The rain landed on the windowsills, making a constant rustling sound. Su Lingyue calmed down for a few seconds, and listened to the rain. It went from a light drizzle to a constant sound. The rainfall was getting heavier and heavier. It didn't feel annoying. Su Lingyue even hoped that it would get even louder.
She had prayed, and it had seemed to have worked. The rain washed everything away. The moderate rain suddenly turned into heavy rain. It fell without warning.
Ji Zhiyi, who was breathing heavily on top of her, went from tense to completely relaxed, her body relaxed.
Su Lingyue called out: "Ji Zhiyi."
Ji Zhiyi was leaning against her, trying to calm herself. She heard her words, and said, “Mm?”
Su Lingyue said, "I want to change the curtains in your house."
Ji Zhiyi said: "Why do you want to change them?"
Su Lingyue said: "They're see-through."
She leaned closer to Ji Zhiyi: "I like the ones that aren't see-through."
Ji Zhiyi laughed.
Su Lingyue said, "Okay?"
Again.
Ji Zhiyi said, "Okay."
It seemed like no matter what she said.
Ji Zhiyi would say, okay.
Su Lingyue was satisfied.
After their shenanigans that night, the two overslept. When Ji Zhiyi's phone rang, she pressed her head, and reached out to answer the phone. She wanted to sit up, but her body was still a bit sore. She turned her head. Su Lingyue was sleeping soundly, not looking as if she had been woken up by her phone.
She turned off the music, and picked up the phone.
She heard Zhang Xian on the other end of the phone. Her energy wasn’t very strong: "Mm, okay."
It was clear that she had just woken up.
Zhang Xian clicked her tongue: “You’re still not up yet?”
Ji Zhiyi said: “I just woke up.”
Zhang Xian said: "You? Sleeping in? A lazy morning?"
It was so unbelievable. When she was at Lucky, Ji Zhiyi’s work hours had always been set in stone. No matter if it was windy or raining, or even if there was a blizzard, she would always arrive on time. Not to mention being late, she had never even heard of her having ever slept in. Even when she had a day off, she would wake up early.
That was why Zhang Xian was so surprised.
Ji Zhiyi held her phone: "Is that so strange?"
Zhang Xian said: "It is a bit strange. You hadn't even slept in when you were taking sleeping pills!"
After being reminded by her, Ji Zhiyi recalled it. It seemed like it was true.
Her quality of sleep had been very bad in the past. She would wake up at the slightest noise.
She had only slept in a few times after being with Su Lingyue. She laughed, changed her position, and just as she lay down, Su Lingyue leaned over and hugged her like an octopus. She buried her face into her neck. The warm skin brought her a kind of softness. Ji Zhiyi’s heart was warm.
She said to the phone: "It's nothing. I'm going to hang up now."
Zhang Xian said: "Okay, then let's talk about it when you come back. Will you be coming back this morning or this afternoon? Do you want me to come and pick you up?”
Ji Zhiyi said, “No need. Sister An should also be arriving soon. You can make the arrangements."
Zhang Xian said: "Got it."
Ji Zhiyi hung up. She looked at her messages. Qi An was going to arrive at the company in the next two days. It had also been a while since she had seen Qi An. Qi An had asked her to have a meal together after she returned to the company to hand over everything. She replied to Qi An’s message. After a moment of silence, she put her phone on the coffee table.
The sound startled Su Lingyue.
Su Lingyue opened her eyes, her eyes blurry. She said: "What time is it?"
Ji Zhiyi said: "Nine o'clock."
Su Lingyue said: "What time are we going back?"
She was still sleepy. She hadn't thought of the time yet. Ji Zhiyi said: "One o'clock."
Su Lingyue said: "Then I'll sleep for a bit more."
Ji Zhiyi found it funny. She had noticed that Su Lingyue would wake up very easily. A few times, it had been because she was startled. However, this morning, she had been sleeping so soundly when she was on the phone. Thinking about this, she pinched Su Lingyue's cheeks, and was about to lift up the blanket and get out of bed when Su Lingyue grabbed her hand and pulled her back down. Su Lingyue said, "You should sleep some more too. You didn't rest well last night."
Ji Zhiyi heard her, and lowered her head. Su Lingyue was leaning by her side, under the warm blanket. She touched Su Lingyue’s calf, and followed her lead and lay down. She said, “Then let’s sleep for another half an hour.”
Su Lingyue said: "Mm."
After speaking, she hugged her, and asked, "Who were you talking to on the phone just now?"
Ji Zhiyi said: "Zhang Xian."
The feeling of chatting while keeping her eyes closed was very comfortable. She was relaxed in her body and her mind. When Su Lingyue heard that name, she opened her eyes. She said: "Does Zhang Xian need something from you?"
Ji Zhiyi said, "A bit of work related matters."
Su Lingyue said, "Do you have to deal with it now?"
Ji Zhiyi said, "No rush."
Su Lingyue said, "Is it really hard to be unable to sleep?"
Hearing her say that, Ji Zhiyi lowered her eyes, and looked at Su Lingyue's face. The room was indeed not that see-through, but the sun was still able to get in during the day. Su Lingyue's eyebrows were covered by the light and shadow. Ji Zhiyi looked at her for a few seconds, and said: "You have insomnia?"
Su Lingyue said: "Wasn’t it you?" She said, "Zhang Xian said that you had to take sleeping pills to be able to sleep in the past."
Ji Zhiyi said, "Mm, when I had just gone overseas, I would have insomnia."
Su Lingyue asked, "Not anymore now, right?"
Her gaze was filled with concern. Ji Zhiyi felt warmth in her heart, and shook her head lightly. Her voice was soft: "No."
Su Lingyue said, "Then if you can't sleep in the future, you don't need to take sleeping pills. You can just look for me."
Ji Zhiyi laughed: "What would I do by looking for you?"
Su Lingyue said, "I can help you." She was much more subtle than she had been last night. She said: "We can do more exercise."
She said this, and she then buried her face in Ji Zhiyi’s chest, saying: "More exercise can help you sleep."
Ji Zhiyi chuckled.
Her body trembled as she laughed. Su Lingyue’s face became even redder, and it was like she wasn't the same person who had asked her to do it so many times last night. Su Lingyue raised her head, looking annoyed, and pinched Ji Zhiyi. Ji Zhiyi pursed her lips, and coughed lightly.
She adjusted her expression, and looked at Su Lingyue, who was looking up at her. Her voice was low: "It won't happen again."
Su Lingyue was confused: "Huh?"
Ji Zhiyi looked at her, her gaze containing gentleness. She pulled Su Lingyue into her arms, and said in an even softer voice: "Lingyue, I won't have insomnia again."
