Princess Syndrome - Chapter 65

Chapter 65: Sleeping

Chapter 65: Sleeping

Ji Zhiyi’s scent was all-encompassing, lingering under Su Lingyue’s nose. She saw Ji Zhiyi’s face so close, her long eyelashes, the curve of her eye sockets, her fair skin. She blinked, her hands still on Ji Zhiyi’s shoulders when Ji Zhiyi released her.

Their eyes met.

Su Lingyue tilted her head slightly.

Was she just kissed?

She was, right?

Although it was just a touch on the corner of her lips.

Her finger touched the corner of her lips.

It wasn't like she didn't know what a kiss was. She had almost been forcibly kissed before. Every time, she would kick the person as soon as she saw that things were not right, to make those people acting cool sober up.

What kind of domineering president drama were they acting out?

Just wanting to force a kiss.

But Ji Zhiyi’s actions just now also had a bit of a domineering nature, yet she was absolutely not repulsed at all!

Then Su Lingyue thought.

She shouldn't have been repulsed in the first place.

The two of them were in a relationship now.

But—wasn’t it too fast?

They only said to try it yesterday, and today they kissed.

Would they end up sleeping in the same bed tonight?

Su Lingyue shook her head.

Ji Zhiyi woke up. When she saw Su Lingyue just now, she thought she was still dreaming, until she regained her senses and realized the person in front of her was the real Su Lingyue, she finally came to her senses.

Then, she saw her shaking her head.

Ji Zhiyi was puzzled, “Lingyue?”

Su Lingyue turned to look at her.

For some reason, she thought about sleeping in the same bed just now, and her face flushed slightly. Looking at Ji Zhiyi, she felt uncomfortable, and said softly, “I’ll go out first.”

Ji Zhiyi: “Huh?”

Before she understood, Su Lingyue had already quickly left. Ji Zhiyi pursed her lips, sitting on the bed, recalling that she had kissed her without Su Lingyue’s consent. Was she too abrupt? Was Su Lingyue angry?

She frowned, leaning by the bed, looking at the closed door that Su Lingyue had gone out of. A few minutes later, she got up, touched up her makeup, and walked out.

The secretariat was very quiet; everyone was resting. Ji Zhiyi opened the blinds but didn't see Su Lingyue. She wasn’t in the office. Then, she got up and went to the tea room, but she didn’t see Su Lingyue either.

Instead, two personnel who weren’t taking a lunch break walked in. Seeing her, they were startled and quickly lowered their heads, “Hello, President Ji.”

She nodded slightly.

She exited the tea room.

After hesitating for a few seconds, she turned into the restroom next to it. Before she even went in, she heard the sound of water and voices talking.

“Assistant Su, you’re not resting?” It was Secretary Li.

She saw Su Lingyue washing her hands through the gap.

Ji Zhiyi looked for a few seconds before lowering her head and leaving.

Su Lingyue returned to her desk and habitually glanced at Ji Zhiyi's office. The blinds were closed; was Ji Zhiyi still resting? Her tongue touched the corner of her lips. She saw Secretary Li handing her a snack, “Want some?”

She picked out a piece of fruit cake. Seeing that Secretary Li was looking at her phone with a happy smile.

Su Lingyue was curious, “Are you watching TV?”

“Oh, no.” Secretary Li said, “There’s a new comedy movie that just came out recently. It’s so funny. I’m planning to go to the cinema with my partner tonight.” She looked at Su Lingyue, “Oh, right, Assistant Su, are you going with your partner?”

She still remembered that Su Lingyue had said she had a partner at lunch.

Su Lingyue said, “Not sure, depends on if she’s free.”

Secretary Li nodded, “You should definitely go if you’re free. I’ll send you the trailer, it’s so funny.”

As she said that, she sent her a video privately.

Su Lingyue opened it, but her thoughts were elsewhere.

Going to see a movie with Ji Zhiyi?

She had always felt that her relationship with Ji Zhiyi had been too fast, but she didn't know where it was too fast. Only now did she realize it, it was that they hadn't had a process of getting to know each other. It was like a flash marriage; the two of them had met on a blind date one day and the next day they were sleeping in a wedding bed.

She didn't really like this kind of pace.

This was her first relationship, she still wanted to get to know each other more deeply and have more of that feeling of being in love.

After figuring things out, Su Lingyue sent the trailer to Ji Zhiyi.

Ji Zhiyi was leaning against her chair, looking at her computer. Hearing her phone vibrate, she turned her head. Seeing a WeChat message notification, instinctively, she felt it was from Su Lingyue. Then, her limbs stiffened, and her fingertips went numb. For a moment, she didn't dare to look at her phone.

After a few seconds of silence, she finally opened her screen.

It was indeed Su Lingyue.

However, she had only sent her a video.

Ji Zhiyi frowned as she watched the video. Before she finished it, Su Lingyue sent another message: [Do you want to go to a movie together tonight?]

What did Su Lingyue mean by this?

Ji Zhiyi held her phone, thinking.

Su Lingyue thought she was still resting, and wouldn't reply so quickly. After sending the message, she put down her phone and turned to Secretary Li, “How long have you and your partner been together?”

She wasn't usually one for gossiping, so Secretary Li was a bit unaccustomed to hearing her ask this.

She wouldn’t be surprised if everyone in the office asked her this, but when it was Su Lingyue, the fruit cake in her hand almost fell. She steadied herself and replied to Su Lingyue, “About four or five years.”

Su Lingyue’s eyes widened, “That long?”

Did she think that she had been in love for too long?

Was it long?

Four or five years was normal, wasn't it?

Secretary Li was confused by the question, and nodded blankly, “Yeah, that long.”

Su Lingyue asked, “What do you usually do?”

At this time, Secretary Li seemed to understand a bit and asked Su Lingyue, “Assistant Su, is this your first relationship?”

That’s why she was asking her so many questions.

Su Lingyue blinked, brushed her bangs with her finger, and her voice turned softer, “Yes.”

She was even a little embarrassed.

Secretary Li hadn’t expected this side of Su Lingyue. It completely overturned the arrogant and overbearing image she had in the past, transforming into a lovely person. Although she also felt that after interacting with her recently, Su Lingyue was nothing like the rumors said, her impression now was even deeper.

She asked Su Lingyue, “How did you guys meet?”

Instead of answering, Su Lingyue asked, “How did you guys meet?”

Oh my.

She’s still shy.

Secretary Li laughed even more and said, “We were university classmates.”

Su Lingyue said, “We were also university classmates.”

Secretary Li said, “Then how was your relationship in college? It must have been good, right?”

Su Lingyue fell silent.

It was pretty good.

Good enough that everyone thought she was Ji Zhiyi’s enemy.

Seeing that she wasn't talking, Secretary Li laughed, “Actually, some people aren’t familiar with each other in college, but then meet up a few years after graduation and get together. It’s normal.”

Su Lingyue nodded.

Secretary Li assumed she was the latter and said, “I even went to a classmate’s wedding a few days ago. She and her husband got together after joining the same company after graduation.”

“It’s quite interesting to think about it. Four years of being classmates without saying much to each other, and then they end up together after working in the same company.” Secretary Li said, “That’s called a late-blooming fate.”

A late-blooming fate?

Su Lingyue thought it was very apt.

Not only was she late, she had also come with ulterior motives!

Thinking about this, she asked Secretary Li, “Among your friends, are there any who had flash marriages?”

“Flash marriage?” Secretary Li said, “I don’t recommend flash marriages.”

She pulled Su Lingyue and said, “There are too many hidden dangers with flash marriages. You don’t know each other. What if you get married and find out that the other person is a scumbag?” She thought that Su Lingyue was thinking about getting married and was scared.

Su Lingyue said, “She’s a good person.”

“Many people know how to pretend!” Secretary Li said earnestly, “You don’t know how many people act so good before marriage, but then their true nature is immediately exposed after they get married. I think that whether it’s dating or getting married, you have to be very careful, especially with marriage.”

Su Lingyue nodded, seeming to agree.

Secretary Li was relieved to see that she had listened, “If you have any emotional problems in the future, you can always ask me. I’ve been in a relationship for a few years now, so I have some experience.”

Su Lingyue smiled, “Thank you.”

Secretary Li saw her smiling face and experienced a visual shock. She was too beautiful, making her feel good. She quickly said, “You’re welcome.”

After finishing the fruit cake, Su Lingyue turned to look at her phone. She opened it, and saw a WeChat notification from a few minutes ago.

Ji Zhiyi was awake?

Su Lingyue subconsciously turned her head to look at the blinds.

They were still closed.

Her heart felt a little disappointed. She opened Ji Zhiyi’s WeChat and saw her message: [Movie tonight?]

Su Lingyue: [You don’t have any social engagements tonight, right? Let’s go to a movie together?]

Ji Zhiyi held her phone and looked at Su Lingyue’s message.

Actually, she had watched a few movies with Su Lingyue before, all of which she had learned about the time from hearing the conversations in her dormitory, so she had bought tickets for the same show. The first time, she was afraid of mistaking the time, so she bought tickets for three showings of that movie.

She had sat in the cinema for an entire afternoon.

She didn't even feel tired, only an uncontrollable surge of excitement from the thought of seeing Su Lingyue soon.

The next few times, she sat behind Su Lingyue. Every time she and her friends came in right on time, either holding a coke or a milk tea. Once during a horror movie, there were not many people, and she saw Su Lingyue frequently looking behind her, as if checking if the person behind her had left.

Her appearance of being scared but also wanting someone to accompany her was both cute and endearing to her.

Back then, she would never have thought that now Su Lingyue would take the initiative to invite her to watch a movie together.

Ji Zhiyi was silent for two seconds, then sent: [Come in.]

Su Lingyue lowered her head and stiffened at this message. She stood up. Seeing this, Secretary Li asked, "Where are you going?"

Her colleagues were all resting. Secretary Li kept her voice low. Su Lingyue said, "President Ji wants me to go in."

Secretary Li looked at her with sympathy and said, "Go quickly."

Su Lingyue walked with a bit of trepidation.

When she arrived at Ji Zhiyi's door, she stopped, took a deep breath, and pushed the door open. Seeing Ji Zhiyi sitting at her desk, she was surprised, "You came out?"

Ji Zhiyi heard her tone, as if her coming out was a very strange thing.

She didn't understand, “What’s wrong?”

Su Lingyue tightened her grip on her phone.

Nothing much.

It was just that she thought Ji Zhiyi was still in the rest room, so the blinds were still closed. Now that she had come out, why hadn't she opened them?

This made her feel a little subtly unhappy.

Her tone was also listless, “Nothing.”

Ji Zhiyi thought that she was still angry about her kissing her without asking, so she stood up and walked to the tea table, sat on the sofa, poured a cup of tea, and poured one for Su Lingyue as well.

Seeing this, Su Lingyue sat beside her.

Ji Zhiyi’s finger rubbed the edge of the cup as she said, “I’m sorry.”

Su Lingyue turned her head to look at her.

She didn’t seem to understand why she was apologizing.

Ji Zhiyi said, “I thought I was dreaming just now. Are you angry?”

Su Lingyue immediately thought of what happened in the rest room, her face heating up a bit. She pretended to drink some water to ease the atmosphere, and said, “No.”

Ji Zhiyi asked, “You’re not angry that I kissed you?”

Su Lingyue was taken aback by the question, “Why should I be angry that you kissed me?”

Ji Zhiyi held her breath.

She moved closer to Su Lingyue.

Su Lingyue noticed her move closer and turned her head. Ji Zhiyi’s face was right in front of her. The scene of the kiss flashed before her eyes, and the softness at the corner of her lips still seemed to linger. Ji Zhiyi’s scent entered her nose. Su Lingyue’s eyes were dazed for two seconds before she quickly came to her senses. She leaned back on the sofa. Ji Zhiyi, seeing her action, looked a little unhappy, “Don't you like me kissing you?”

Without even thinking, Su Lingyue opened her mouth, “I do like it!”

Ji Zhiyi looked at her avoiding gaze and said nothing.

Only now did Su Lingyue belatedly realize that her actions just now might have made Ji Zhiyi misunderstand. She explained, “It’s just that I feel like our progress is too fast.”

Ji Zhiyi looked at her, “Fast?”

Su Lingyue said, “Yeah, we only said we’d try it yesterday, and we don’t know each other yet, and we’re already kissing today.” She asked the next question, which was bound to shock, “Then doesn’t that mean we’ll be sleeping together tonight?”
