Princess Syndrome - Chapter 58

Chapter 58: Question

Chapter 58: Question

Ji Zhiyi had impure thoughts about her?

Well, she was so good-looking, it wasn't strange at all that Ji Zhiyi would be interested in her appearance. Didn't she also appreciate Ji Zhiyi's looks? If it were before, if someone asked her to "try it," she would definitely say "thank you, but no thanks" without a second thought. But now, she deeply understood what it was like to be interested in someone's appearance, even intensely interested, so much so that she had actually imagined having passionate nights with this person!

She suddenly understood the psychology of those people who wanted to date her after just one glance.

Because she was now a little tempted by Ji Zhiyi's offer to "try it."

Su Lingyue glanced at Ji Zhiyi, remaining silent, seemingly in thought.

Ji Zhiyi didn't urge her, just waited quietly, her hand occasionally stroking her neck, smoothing out the essential oil. The fragrance spread, surrounding Su Lingyue. After thinking for a while, she asked, "If I don't agree, will you not help me bring down Su Qi?"

Was that what she was thinking about all this time?

Ji Zhiyi felt a little defeated.

She was starting to believe that Su Lingyue only had impure thoughts about her appearance and no real feelings.

Her face was tense, her expression indifferent.

She didn't say anything.

Seeing this, Su Lingyue leaned closer, seemingly studying Ji Zhiyi's facial expressions carefully. Unfortunately, there wasn't much change. Ji Zhiyi spoke softly, "I won't."

She said, "Business is business, personal matters are personal matters."

Su Lingyue nodded.

She also felt that Ji Zhiyi wasn't someone who mixed business with pleasure, and she wasn't vindictive. She was usually very gentle, and she had even allowed her to keep a cat when they had no relationship at all. She had been quite tolerant of her.

The more she thought about it, the more she realized Ji Zhiyi's good points.

Su Lingyue suddenly had a strange feeling that if she missed this opportunity, it would be gone forever. But she didn't agree immediately. Ji Zhiyi asked, "What are you thinking about?"

"I'm thinking about whether to try it or not." Su Lingyue was still so direct. She looked at Ji Zhiyi and said, "I have nothing." She still had to rely on Ji Zhiyi to bring down Su Qi. All she had left was probably just herself.

She used to have so much: the Su family, Su Qi.

Including those invisible, advantageous conditions.

Like a spider web, intricate and complex.

The more you have, the less you can see clearly.

She was lost in the chrysalis of money and status until she left Su Qi and was kicked out. Peeling away each layer of her identity, she slowly saw clearly.

All she had left was herself.

Now Ji Zhiyi was asking to try it with her.

It was an invitation for her to take off the last piece of covering.

Su Lingyue hesitated.

Ji Zhiyi asked, "Are you afraid?"

Su Lingyue looked at Ji Zhiyi and nodded.

Ji Zhiyi said, "Then it's simple. Before you take off my last piece of clothing, hold onto your true self, and you won't need to be afraid."

Was that how it was?

Su Lingyue looked into her eyes.

Ji Zhiyi's gaze was focused, fixed on her. She could see her own tiny reflection in them. Before she took off Ji Zhiyi's last piece of clothing, she had to hold onto her true self. That way, she wouldn't need to be afraid.

Because she would be in control.

But could she hold on?

Su Lingyue curled her fingers. Ji Zhiyi suddenly grabbed her hand and placed it on the waistband of her pajamas. As long as Su Lingyue used a little force, the waistband would come undone, and she could see Ji Zhiyi.

A naked Ji Zhiyi.

Su Lingyue gripped the tie tightly and looked at Ji Zhiyi.

Ji Zhiyi's expression was calm, seemingly very willing to accept the "try it" proposal, even prepared to be rejected. But this time, Su Lingyue didn't want to reject. She exerted force on her wrist, and the silk ribbon slowly came undone. Suddenly, a voice came from outside. "Lingyue!"

Her hand trembled, and the tie slid down, revealing a hint of skin.

Footsteps approached the door.

Su Lingyue's eyes widened. She looked at Ji Zhiyi and, without thinking, buried herself in Ji Zhiyi's arms, using her body to block everything.

Chu Yi had dozed off for a while and woke up refreshed, but she couldn't see Ji Zhiyi or Su Lingyue. The house was too big, and she didn't dare wander around, so she just called out Su Lingyue's name, but Su Lingyue didn't respond.

Were they not home?

Just as she was about to go back to the sofa, she saw Xiao Mafan sitting in front of a bedroom door. She walked over curiously.

She looked up and saw Ji Zhiyi and Su Lingyue facing each other on the bed.

Su Lingyue was still being held by Ji Zhiyi.

Chu Yi looked at the two people on the bed, then lowered her head and met Xiao Mafan's gaze. She quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."

How could she forget, these two were in that kind of relationship now!

They were having some fun after lunch, and she interrupted them!

Chu Yi felt a little guilty.

Ji Zhiyi had poured her tea, offered her water, and even ordered her desserts, yet she had ruined their good time. Chu Yi's face flushed. She sat on the sofa feeling very embarrassed. When Su Lingyue came out of the bedroom, she said, "Lingyue, I'll go now."

Su Lingyue said, "Hey."

Chu Yi turned to leave, but Su Lingyue grabbed her.

She said, "Not going to sit for a while?"

Chu Yi said, "Probably not."

Then she looked at Ji Zhiyi and gave an awkward smile.

Ji Zhiyi calmly adjusted her shawl and stood behind Su Lingyue. "Miss Chu, would you like to stay for dinner?"

Chu Yi said, "No, thank you, President Ji."

Seeing that she was determined to leave, Su Lingyue grabbed her arm. "Um, President Ji and I..."

Chu Yi was very understanding. "I understand. I definitely won't reveal your relationship to anyone. Don't worry."

Of course, it wasn't just because of the 'pressure' from Ji Zhiyi.

Most importantly, it was for Su Lingyue's sake.

She didn't know what the future held for Su Lingyue and Ji Zhiyi. If they broke up in the future, Su Lingyue would definitely be the one getting all the blame. So she would keep her mouth shut and never say a word to anyone.

Su Lingyue nodded.

Chu Yi also reminded her, "Don't tell anyone else either."

Su Lingyue said, "I won't."

Only then did Chu Yi feel relieved. Su Lingyue looked at Ji Zhiyi, guessing that she should be satisfied now, and waved goodbye to Chu Yi, watching her leave.

Ji Zhiyi stood beside Su Lingyue. After she closed the door, Ji Zhiyi turned her head and smiled at her. Xiao Mafan jumped beside them. Su Lingyue bent down to pick up the cat to ease the awkwardness. Ji Zhiyi walked to the sofa and sat down as if nothing had happened. Seeing that the fruit on the coffee table hadn't been touched much, she picked up a piece and chewed it slowly.

Su Lingyue said, "Then..."

Ji Zhiyi spoke at the same time. "Should we continue?"

Su Lingyue looked at her. "Continue what?"

Ji Zhiyi opened her shawl, revealing the pajamas underneath. She tugged at the tie. Su Lingyue, forgetting about the cat in her arms, immediately pressed down on Ji Zhiyi's hand with one hand and sat down next to her.

She said, "I think we should consider this matter more carefully."

Ji Zhiyi said, "I've considered it very carefully. I want to try it with you."

Su Lingyue, who was usually so straightforward, was now blushing. Seeing Ji Zhiyi acting like she was negotiating a business deal, she also sat down next to her and said, "Have you thought about the consequences?"

Ji Zhiyi said, "There are two possible outcomes. If you're not satisfied, you can dump me. If you're very satisfied, we'll continue to be together."

That wasn't right.

Su Lingyue said, "Why are there only two?"

She looked at Ji Zhiyi. "What if you're not satisfied with me?"

Ji Zhiyi said, "I won't be."

A surge of joy filled Su Lingyue's heart. Her voice was a little coquettish. "How can you be so sure? You like me that much?"

She glanced at Ji Zhiyi, seeing her hand freeze because of her words, wondering if she had been shocked by her own shamelessness.

She was shocked herself.

Ji Zhiyi said, "I suppose so."

What did "suppose so" mean!

Ji Zhiyi really didn't know how to coax people!

They were in this kind of atmosphere, what was wrong with saying a few nice lies to her? They were talking about trying to date, but with such a stubborn mind, could they even make it work?

She was very conflicted.

She couldn't help but ask Ji Zhiyi, "Have you really never been in a relationship?"

Ji Zhiyi said, "Haven't you either?"

Su Lingyue said, "But we're different."

Ji Zhiyi nodded as she listened to her.

Su Lingyue said, "I think we should get to know each other better first, right?"

Even with shotgun weddings, there was still a matchmaking process.

Although they had indeed lived together for some time.

But that wasn't living together as a couple.

Ji Zhiyi asked, "What do you want to know?"

Su Lingyue asked, "What did you do when you were abroad?"

Ji Zhiyi didn't hesitate. "Studied, worked."

Su Lingyue asked, "What else?"

Ji Zhiyi looked at her. "What else is there?"

Su Lingyue: ...

That was as good as saying nothing!

Su Lingyue said, "More details, like which school you went to, what you majored in, how many years you studied, when you started working..."

She listed them one by one, counting on her fingers the things she wanted to know. Before she finished speaking, Ji Zhiyi was staring at her. Su Lingyue touched her cheek. "What are you looking at?"

Did she have something on her face?

Ji Zhiyi said, "Nothing. Is this a relationship application I'm filling out?"

A relationship application?

Su Lingyue looked at her.

Was this person making fun of her? Or was she making fun of her?

She said, "No need for that."

Ji Zhiyi looked at her for several minutes, then smiled and suddenly stood up. Su Lingyue shrank back, afraid that Ji Zhiyi would think she was being a nuisance and throw a pillow at her. She narrowed her eyes as Ji Zhiyi walked away, watching her back.

Ji Zhiyi went into the study.

After a while, she came out with paper and a pen.

She handed them to Su Lingyue.

Su Lingyue was confused and looked up at her.

Ji Zhiyi said, "Let's write down our questions and answer them. If we meet each other's requirements, we'll try it. How about that?"

This idea.

Su Lingyue had never even considered it!

She said, "But I have a lot of questions."

Ji Zhiyi said, "That's okay, we have a lot of time."

Su Lingyue bit her lip and smiled. "Okay."

She took the paper and pen.

When she actually started writing questions, she found that she couldn't write several of them. She tilted her head to look at Ji Zhiyi, seeing her writing furiously on the blank paper.

Did she also have a lot of questions for her?

What if she couldn't answer them, or Ji Zhiyi wasn't satisfied?

Would they not be able to date?

Su Lingyue didn't realize the small disappointment she felt because of this thought. She bit her fingernails and lowered her head to start writing.

After Ji Zhiyi finished writing, she placed the paper and pen on the coffee table and said to Su Lingyue, "I'm going to take a call."

Su Lingyue said, "Okay."

She saw Ji Zhiyi go into the study and seemingly turn on her computer. She could hear the keyboard clicking.

Ji Zhiyi held her phone, typing while listening to the person on the other end. She heard Secretary Wu say, "President Ji, Lin Fei said she'll come to the company tomorrow morning to sign the contract."

She said, "Got it. What about Yang Zhizhi?"

"Yang Zhizhi's assistant contacted me this morning. She's free tomorrow. Should they come together?" Secretary Wu didn't understand why Ji Zhiyi would arrange for two celebrities to be spokespersons at the same time, but Ji Zhiyi's decisions never needed explanations, so she would just do as she was told.

Ji Zhiyi said, "They can come together. Also, release some information and check the promotion plan with the publicity department."

Secretary Wu said, "Okay."

Ji Zhiyi hung up the phone and started processing emails. When she was sending the third one, she turned her head to look at the living room. Su Lingyue was spacing out. She walked over. Su Lingyue looked up. "You finished your call?"

Ji Zhiyi said, "Yeah. Yang Zhizhi and Lin Fei are coming to the company to sign the contracts tomorrow. Are the contracts ready?"

Seeing her switch to work matters seamlessly.

Su Lingyue was still in a daze for a couple of seconds before saying, "They've been confirmed with the legal department."

Ji Zhiyi nodded.

She asked her, "Are you done writing?"

Did she have to switch so seamlessly!

Her emotions hadn't caught up yet!

Su Lingyue was caught off guard again. She paused for two seconds and nodded. "Yeah."

But she hesitated to hand it to Ji Zhiyi.

Suddenly, some of her questions felt too childish.

She really wanted to delete them.

Just as she picked up the pen to turn the paper over, a face came closer. Su Lingyue said, "Don't look."

She reached out to push Ji Zhiyi's face away, but Ji Zhiyi wouldn't have it and insisted on looking. Su Lingyue could only hold her paper, trying to hide it. Ji Zhiyi said, "Let me see."

"No," Su Lingyue said. "I'm not done yet!"

She tried to hide it with her other hand, but Ji Zhiyi reached out and took it. Su Lingyue immediately tried to grab it back. Ji Zhiyi leaned back, and Su Lingyue straddled her lap.

Xiao Mafan meowed.

Looking at the two of them.

Su Lingyue looked down.

She wanted to back away, but Ji Zhiyi wrapped her arms around her waist. Ji Zhiyi sat up, and they were face to face in an instant. Su Lingyue lowered her eyes, looking at her beautiful, delicate nose. Her gaze moved up, meeting Ji Zhiyi's eyes. Ji Zhiyi had one arm around her, and the other hand was still holding the questions she had written.

Su Lingyue's hands were half-resting on Ji Zhiyi's shoulders, as if she was trying to grab something.

She could just reach out and take back the paper full of her questions, but she didn't move.

She was still sitting on Ji Zhiyi's lap.

Ji Zhiyi tilted her head, put down Su Lingyue's paper, and took her own paper from the coffee table, handing it to Su Lingyue.

Su Lingyue looked at her.

Ji Zhiyi's expression was calm.

Su Lingyue bit her lip.

She wanted to move but felt even more awkward in this position, so she just sat on Ji Zhiyi's lap, her legs kneeling on either side of Ji Zhiyi's. Because of their position, she was now taller than Ji Zhiyi. Looking down, she could see Ji Zhiyi's nose bridge and brow bone, refined and prominent. Ji Zhiyi's arm was still around her waist. "Aren't you going to open it and take a look?"

Su Lingyue's heart was pounding. She tried to appear calm. "Yes, I am."

She gripped the paper tightly, took a deep breath, lowered her head, and opened the paper with the questions Ji Zhiyi had written. There was only one sentence.

[Su Lingyue, do you want to date me?]
