S-Class Dungeon’s Mistress - Chapter 221

Chapter 221

Chapter 221

"Aaaaaah!"

A piercing scream tore through the air. An exceptionally high and shrill voice. While the scream of terror alone made it difficult to identify its owner, it somehow felt familiar.

Sure enough, a succubus caught in Beelzebub's massive hand immediately drew everyone's attention. The succubus was Noxia, with her sensitive and prickly expression. She was the very one who had previously argued that it was better to live like a slave under the Demon King than to die in vain.

"Noxia!"

Penelope cried out her name, her face pale with horror. Adelaide quickly leaped forward toward Beelzebub. However, she already knew the truth. The distance was too great to save Noxia.

Even if Lisianthus rushed out immediately, or if Caladium transformed into a phoenix and flew in, they wouldn't be able to rescue her in time. Knowing this, Adelaide still hastened her steps.

But ultimately, what she faced was a cold, harsh reality.

Thrash! Squirm!

Noxia, who had been frantically struggling like a freshly caught fish, quickly disappeared into Beelzebub's mouth. With a gulp and a swallowing sound, even her soft moan was swallowed into his throat.

"Noxia!! Uwaaaaah!"

Raymond, the incubus closest to Noxia, charged toward Beelzebub, screaming. But he couldn't exact revenge. He couldn't even reach Beelzebub's feet, his neck having been severed by the Demon King's army.

Adelaide bit down hard on her molars, watching as Raymond's round head was kicked across the ground by soldiers.

The death of those who came to help her was something she had anticipated even before starting the war.

In Los Halde, they had been lucky, but no one could end a war without losing someone. Noxia and Raymond were just the beginning. She couldn't even fathom how many would be hurt and killed.

Though she had steeled herself, her gut twisted in pain. Pushing aside the churning sensation in her intestines, Adelaide scanned the area around Beelzebub.

Only Beelzebub had come to support the Demon King's army; no other demons were in sight. From the lack of energy, they seemed to be maintaining a perimeter within the Demon King's castle.

"The four demons under Agapanthus don't get along well. They're inherently prideful, and each wants to absorb the other's power and authority, so they rarely cooperate. War might be an exception... but in my opinion, we won't see them working together even tomorrow. Which works in our favor."

Lisianthus had advised her this way last evening. Adelaide had tilted her head, asking if they wouldn't at least cooperate during a war, especially against Belial, but his opinion was resolute. They would rather die than help each other.

She had been skeptical then, but now she acknowledged his prediction was spot on. Seeing Beelzebub appear alone, even though Belial was here, confirmed everything.

'What a waste of forces. Are you stupid? Even Lisian and Caladium collaborate when needed, with such unnecessary pride.'

Adelaide clicked her tongue, staring at Beelzebub.

"I'm hungry, I'm hungry."

True to his nickname, 'the Demon of Gluttony', he continued to drool. With vacant eyes, repeatedly mumbling about being hungry, he looked somewhat deficient as a devil.

But he was indeed a devil—the energy emanating from him and the strength contained in his massive body were formidable. With each step, the inner walls crumbled, and the ground caved in. Where his saliva dripped, green smoke rose as everything corroded.

Beelzebub reached out toward Kyle, who was crossing the sky. Having just devoured Noxia alive, he seemed ready to consume Kyle as well.

<Kyle's gonna die! Kyle!>

Kyle frantically beat his wings but couldn't escape Beelzebub's reach.

However, a whip with sharp thorns suddenly wrapped around the thick, massive hand. The giant monster flinched and withdrew, allowing Kyle to narrowly escape.

"What the hell is with that impossible skin?"

Adelaide quickly wielded her whip, frowning. Despite putting considerable force into her strike, only a tiny scratch remained on Beelzebub's skin. This indicated an incredibly strong defense.

"I'll take care of this guy."

Caladium walked up, declaring his intention. He had recognized that the opponent was similar to his own physical combat type.

"Go ahead. I'll catch up after dealing with this monster."

Adelaide bit her lip, contemplating. Caladium was one of their strongest forces. Without him, confronting the Demon King and his demons would be challenging.

Moreover, even if she left him behind, handling the Demon King's army seemed impossible. Caladium would be too focused on fighting Beelzebub to help the succubi and incubi, and the Morpheus alliance alone would be insufficient against the Demon King's army.

It might be better to handle it together and leave quickly. But the time required was the problem.

Thirty minutes. If they didn't deal with Agapanthus within thirty minutes, various dungeons contracted with the Demon King would converge. Even Greenville, strong as it was, couldn't simultaneously handle dozens of dungeons.

Adelaide looked at Lisianthus for answers. But the response came from Lupinus.

"We might not need to handle this ourselves."

Brushing off the blood from his brilliant blonde hair, he gestured toward another direction—the wall where Kyle had appeared.

Adelaide soon understood his meaning. Dark spots were densely scattered across the sky above the wall, their presence previously masked by Beelzebub's demonic energy, now gradually approaching.

<Lo, Look! The support troops have arrived! Isn't this just so moving!>

Kyle's voice, bursting with emotion, cut across the Demon King's courtyard. Immediately after, the western wall exploded with a earth-shattering roar.

"Adelaide!"

Amidst the sound of crumbling stone walls, a familiar voice called out. Simultaneously, Adelaide's pink pupils flickered widely. A beloved face had entered her line of sight.

Courageously destroying the wall were various monster groups. At the forefront were her friends.

"Adelaide, sorry we're late!"

Leading the Durahan group was Raham.

"Are you not hurt?!"

Before the demon-born celestial beings stood Pia.

"Oh my goooood... the Demon King's army is just so numerouuuus..."

In front of the cute yet fearsome monsters, Shuville and dark elves, stood Julliard.

An incongruous and mismatched combination of monsters and demon races formed a large collective. But they all shared one thing in common—they had all received help from Adelaide at some point.

But that wasn't all.

The number of additional arrivals was countless. And at their center stood a single demon.

"Apologies for the delayed response, Adelaide."

An elderly man sitting regally atop a pure white dragon—Cael, the owner of Eligos.

Gasps erupted throughout at the sight of a dragon none had ever seen before. But Adelaide wasn't unfamiliar with this energy. The demon beside Cael, Philippagos, was apparently the dragon.

"We were delayed convincing the dungeon lords. But it seems we're not too late, which is fortunate."

Cael smiled softly at Adelaide, who stood dumbfounded. Behind the Eligos demons stood various dungeon lords with anxious expressions—faces that were equally familiar.

'Subsidiary dungeons...'

The dungeon lords who had contracts with Greenville had come to help, led by their respective groups. Not all had come, but their numbers were substantial.

A surge of warmth suddenly welled up from deep within her heart. Adelaide bit her lip and averted her gaze. If she continued to meet her friends' eyes, she would burst into tears. Now she understood why Julliard had brought an unusually large sum of money, and why Raham and Pia had silently disappeared.

'They were trying to help me in any way they could.'

Despite her efforts to hold back, tears welled up. Their love was far too generous for her.

<Eligos! It's Eligos! S-rank dungeon Eligos has come to support Greenville! The dungeon lord hidden behind a veil for hundreds of years finally reveals himself!>

Kyle's resounding voice drowned out her sniffling. Fortunately, she thought, and raised her head again.

"We'll handle Beelzebub and the Demon King's army here. Continue forward," Cael said softly, briefly glancing at Lisianthus. His gaze was subtle, as if he knew Lisianthus's true identity as Belial.

Adelaide slowly nodded. Then she turned her body to face their destination.

"Clear the path!"

At Cael's command, the demon races charged forward, roaring, toward the Demon King's army and Beelzebub. The sudden appearance of this massive force caused the Demon King's army to instinctively retreat, soon surrendering their lives helplessly.

"Drago sha Baul!"

The flame dragon conjured by Julliard descended upon the Demon King's army, while the dark elves' tree branches ensnared the enemies. Celestial white energies erupted from various points, and the Shuville monsters tore at the ankles of those attempting to flee.

Amidst the cacophony of screams, the dragon Philippagos, long absent from the demon realm, immediately charged and bit Beelzebub's neck. Beelzebub opened his mouth, ready to devour even the dragon, but dragon hide was not as fragile as typical demon flesh.

Cael slowly waved his hand, purifying the horrific demonic energy from the two demons' battle and creating a defensive barrier to protect his subordinates—a power perfectly suited to his nature.

With the help of every demon, the path to their destination was finally cleared.
